Live Letter(3.4-Beyond) Discussion

How do you feel about the upcoming changes and possibilities? Many of these include:

-New Doze(bed) poses
-Continued release of contest winner haircuts
-No nerfs to Weeping City
-Inventory increase in 4.0
-Right-Click RMT report
-Outrageous house pricing when reselling allowing ban
-3.4 increasing Palace Of The Dead floors to 100 and more later
-Dat Avere mount(dun dun DUN)
-24man Raid Roulette
-Whipping City(Savage)*slim possibility* (Tbh I'd rather have Ozma Savage for laughs and medical bills)
-RP status icon (I remember reading the thread asking for this lol)
-Housing item limit increase
-Apartments in 3.4
-I guarantee I missed alot

-Nothing on egi Glamour's, GC ranks, parsing, Chocobo queueing, stat changes, that stuff.

Raid Roulette is a much needed addition to Roulette.

It gives players reason to go back into old 24 member raids like CT without Anima Weapon progress being the only reason to return.

1. New doze- Don't care.

2. More haircuts- Don't care.

3. No nerfs to Weeping City- Not surprised.

4. Inventory increase- Can't complain, it doesn't help me much as I try and keep as few items as possible.

5. Right click to report RMT- YES! HELL YES! A MILLION TIMES YES.

6. House re-selling being bannable- I approve.

7. Palace of the Dead- I'm down, more replayable content like this and Aquapolis are something I've wanted.

8. Avere mount- Meh.

9. 24m raid roulette- Long as the rewards are worth it.

10. Savage WC- Don't care.

11. RP icon- Can't complain, I love rp but it doesn't do me much good on my server.

12. House item limit increase- Again can't complain, I have a house but it's mostly for gardening. I just throw whatever random housing items I get in there.

13. Apartments- I own a house, doesn't affect me. If I can own a house and an apartment I might look in to it. I prefer Ishgard's architecture to the other city states.

Really not much that is of interest to me.
Just a few things. I'm glad they probably won't nerf Weeping City and I hope they do make a savage version. I'm not big on raids but I do like Weeping City and want to try a more difficult version.

I'm really excited about Palace of the Dead.

Don't have a house because some people on my server have several houses just for themselves (no plans to sell them either.)
Apparently, they just use them as picture studios...

I've never heard of anyone RPing on my server so...

Also, no RMT on my server so... (a couple bots but never receive a /tell or even heard of anyone who has).

No interest in mounts. I still use my chocobo all the time.

Couldn't get a house so couldn't care less about the housing limit increase. Caters just just a small percent of the server population.

Although I have only ever seen one person trying to sell a house on my server, I wouldn't be surprised if some deals go down where not everyone can see them. So a ban on selling marked up houses sounds great so me.

New hairstyles?

Is this in like another 3 months? Or when palace of the dead comes out?

Given that Apartments are ment to insure all players can participate in housing to some degree, you probably can have both a house and an apartment.

I really hate that even though Palace of the Dead apparently doesn't require any roles, you still have to have exactly four people. If they can balance content so that specific roles aren't necessary, they should be able to figure out how to let me play with two or four or whatever friends instead of exactly three or seven no matter what, always. This was the perfect opportunity to do this and they blew it.

Also the way they announced right-click reporting was hilarious. I can just imagine them wracking their brains for the last few years, until someone from the DQX team overheard them and said "you know we just do it the way every other MMO for the last decade has and it works pretty well."

Pretty sure Palace of the Dead is for 1 - 4 people and if you do it solo you get put on a leaderboard.

-Continued release of contest winner haircuts- Eh. I'm still waiting for a bun or French twist so I can stop worrying about if I want my bangs to clip or my collar to clip.

-No nerfs to Weeping City- Good. People need to learn to adapt to mechanics from here on out so things aren't so easy they're immediately boring.

-Inventory increase in 4.0- Awesome! And a furniture cap increase. Very excited for both!

-Right-Click RMT report- We have needed this forever, so... yes.

-Outrageous house pricing when reselling allowing ban- Imo it should just be a ban for any profit. Not a subjective amount of profit.

-3.4 increasing Palace Of The Dead floors to 100 and more later- Cool? I'll have to make a judgement on the initial dungeon first.

-Dat Avere mount(dun dun DUN)- Gross, it creeps me out. XD

-24man Raid Roulette- I'd run it daily.

-Whipping City(Savage)- I would try this but my hopes are not high lol.

-RP status icon- As an RPer this would be a nice way to let people know I'm busy/IC but can still get /tells from other RPers.

-Apartments in 3.4- Awesome, I hope I can get one, and I hope they somehow magic them into auto-populating so they never run out.

I kept watching hoping for something new but I was so disappointed. He could have done this from Japan.. I mean, E3 to talk glamour? What the hell. The palace of the Dead stuff we already knew, all of it.
I only hope the first FanFest will be the one hosting the announcement for the next expansion with a holiday release, the second to celebrate said release and the third one to introduce the coming patches. If they plan to keep this game going like this for another whole year.. I don't know.

On phone and cannot find edit button..

-Dragonskin Maps stackable
-Devs do NOT intend on changing the 2,000 mentor roulette requirement for Astrope(2-Seater Pegasus)
-Mount abilities added to more mounts. (Ex. Magitek blast, Drake Flame etc)
-Sleipnir will apparently be a priority now with flight. No mention on tank mounts
-MGP bonus events on a regular basis
-Must order a physical $40 Cait Sith plushie to get cat ears. Good luck cat fans!!

New doze - a pleasant addition for some I'm sure, doesn't affect me too much though.
Haircuts - good if they pick better ones next time
Really glad about WC not receiving a nerf, and love the idea of a Weeping City Savage. I find the current bosses a lot of fun and would love a more challenging version.
Easy RMT reporting is drastically needed.
I'm glad they're cracking down on housing sales, but I still think it'd be far better if they just implemented a system where you can release your house to the game and get 80 - 90% of your money back (i.e. the system we have, without the ridiculous waiting period) and made reselling against the rules full stop.
Excited about the Avere mount because hopefully it means we'll see some more of Edda's story!
The rest I'm not particularly bothered about. As far as housing goes, I just want Ishgard wards already.

Told my fiancée about the new doze, her exclamation of excitement was on par with most people about one click report for rmt.

That female Miqo'te /doze struggle.

I am a highlander, but I am happy for my Miqo'te friends. Now they won't look like 1950s babysitters.

That said all the stuff listed was nice stuff, but nothing earth shattering really, though the possibility of Slepnir flying is fun. Now when new jobs and expansion locations start dropping, I'll get excited.

- No word from dev's what 'outrageous' is.

- The same floor over and over.

Avere mount
- 16.00 Euro's form the mog station.

Housing item limit increase
- You can now place an additional 10 items!

Apartments in 3.4
- The size of the Inn.

The inventory increase smells like more extra retainers, probably they giving 4 retainers for free and will add 4 extra paid, for a grand total of 12 retainers.

A real inventory solution would be to shrink the key item storage, make all tokens actually tokens and not items and increase the stacks of materials from 99 to 255. They could actually increase them to 9999 as shards are, but 255 should do.

4. Inventory increase- Could be good but if they fill it with junk eep what's the point.
5. Right click to report RMT- There are no RMT on Balmung.
6. House re-selling being bannable- You shouldn't be able to resell your house. If you buy it it's yours unless released to public.
7. Palace of the Dead- I liked the Floors in FFXI
8. Avere mount- Mounts mean nothing to me. But WAIT I WANT THE FLYING NIMBUS!! OMG GIVE IT TO ME NOW....
9. 24m raid roulette- meh.
10. Savage WC- I don't do Savage content as is.
11. RP icon- I RP so I like the idea.
12. House item limit increase- I Just got a house but I hope it's both inside and outside items.
13. Apartments- I currently use my FC Room as storage for housing items.

Yoshida specifically said increasing player inventory as well as the armory "by a large amount" with the xpac. Also housing item increase.

More inventory is always good. If Apartments mean that we poor folk can afford at least some housing, then I'm all for it. Especially considering I took a long break and came back to find my FC dissolved... meaning I lost my FC room and all the stuff I put in there. :/

He said the "pricing" would be separate, but more or less that was nonsense as well since housing was still the same price regardless
