What do you think of this BiS? Any corrections/improvements? I tried to use as little V as possible.

I think you must be very, very rich. X3
5 Gatheing and 2 Perception t5 Materia? Ouch.
T5 gatherer's materia is actually pretty cheap right now. I threw one in every guaranteed slot of my gear and ended up at around 963/937/700. This gear is going to last you till next Spring so might as well go big.
This is my BiS
I'm not getting this BiS though. I have no interest in 700 gp without food at the moment. As you can also see, I melded the i170 accessories with the same melds I put on the i190. I invested too much gil in my i170 accessories during patch 3.2 to simply replace them one patch later.
Currently I am using some cheap vendor food from Ishgard to reach 700 GP and I will do this until 4.0 if not more.
Edit: We really didn't need more accessories. lol.
Edit2: Also you gotta be kidding if you're getting this gear and not investing in V materia when this is literally the patch they are making it easier to obtain.
I'm still using normally melded Dodore gear from 2.x & I have over 600GP & can get HQ from any node (well, once I improve the offhands from lvl59 - can't get the 60** yet).
If you don't mind the rare miss then standard Dragonskin gear is fine for now, especially as 3.35/3.4 will see new accessories (definitely) & possibly even a new main tool upgrade.
The new accessories will be i200, presumably acquired the same way the current i200 gathering gear is obtained.
Do you really want to use the i200 accessories, after the i180 accessories were such a flop?
The question is, will BiS gear give you the stats needed to clear nodes using less GP? It seems people still need to spend the 100 GP to guarantee the legendary nodes. Will this gear bring us to the 5% or less miss rate?
Aside from that, new nodes in 3.5/3.4 or whenever they add them might dictate the need.
I don't believe that any gear allows 100% on legendary nodes due to hard caps. I think it's designed so that even if you have twice the required stats you will still not get 100% until the next level up, which will be with 4.0 I imagine. The 2.x ones were at 95% even ifif highly overgeared until 3.0 arrived.
The point he's making is that right now, even with BiS i170 melded gear, you can't hit that 95% cap on legendary nodes and are forced to use the 100GP +15% ability instead of the 50GP 5% ability to ensure 100% gathering rate. With this new i190/200 gear comes a HUGE boost to gathering though, and I am pretty sure we can hit 95% now. Even without a new body or main/offhand, I'm sitting at 90% right now.
...So? This is almost always a issue with gathering as new nodes are released that put us in that 70%-95%. I have no doubt the i190 gear will push us to 95% but that doesn't really matter anymore. what will matter in 3.4 is having that 700 GP so u have room to use that 15% rate ability to actually get the new items.
I imagin the nodes we get in 3.4 will put us at 85% with the current gear level.
Of course it still matters. People are still gathering legendary node mats at quite a substantial rate last I checked, so having that 95% base chance helps. It's a long way to 3.4 yet.
Also, I use the 15% ability already with 680 GP to get a 45% HQ chance for 5 hits and a 100% HQ final hit on legendary nodes. The ticks as you gather at the node give you 20 GP back to effectively have 700 GP to use for the final push for 100% HQ, so 700 base GP isn't actually needed at all and won't change anything I do.

190HQ overmeld on all gear an accesories(GP),MH tool +4gp an OH tool +3 gp
700gp no food,
Will love a new HQ food for the extra +50gp
We will probably need _some_ of the new gear for 3.4 nodes and definitely not everything. I have mostly all of the white gear overmelded and can gather as well as people with full red scrip gear.
My question was simply 'How big of a benefit would making a full Ironworks set help?'. If I have full BiS and still need to use the same actions as someone with a lower tier set of gear, then aside from visuals it seems like a waste. However if we make BiS and I can gather an extra 5 items per node at a higher HQ chance it would be worth it.
Have not looked to see just which nodes this applies to, but the new gear will allow you to make use of new conditionals, such as +1 Gathering Attempts or +2 Gathering Attempts, that were not on the nodes prior to 3.3. The old i180/i170 gear set does not provide you with enough stats to make use of these new conditionals except for when they appear on the Chysahl/Adamantite Ore nodes.
Probably because i do not understand this stuff, lol buuut my dragonskin and yes even old i55 accesories seems better then the red script stuff?
There is no melds for the survivor belt and such so i would loose a lots of stats over my overmelded pieces. So i guess just get my offhand and call it in.
Perhaps some of you with more knowledge can fill me in, that would be great:)
Oh and i am also using an HQ Carbonweave Jacket of Gathering.
A lot of the i180 gear is mostly better than fully melded i150 gear. By "mostly better" I mean it has a significant boost to one stat, a small reduction of another, and is a wash with the third. Getting the full set will see stat increases overall, but not if you only look at individual pieces.
The i180 accessories, however (belt, earring, rings, bracelet, neck) are hands down worse than the other stuff. That's why we crafted the i170 for those slots. We would have crafted i170 for the i180 pieces, too, but there are (or were) no i170 crafting recipes for gathering body, legs, hands, head, and feet slots.
Now, the i190 is easily better than the old stuff. The only reason I'm doing anything for the i200 is my retainers. I am not sure whether or not to make i170 accessories for them however.
Honestly, this set will last you like a year, all the way until the next expansion, and if it's anything like Heavensward it will also last you through the whole leveling process in 4.0 and through a big chunk of 4.0-4.1 gathering in the case of accessories, there's no reason to not go all out with it.
Thank you for all that info :)
I ended up just getting the dragonskin belt and melded it.
I very much regret having purchased that carbonweave coat now, but it looks good so must work right?
no V overmelding , now hope they will add a GP=>44 food in near future
