Anyone know

Anyone know if the original completion time for the update is still the one they gave? IE do we still have to wait till 3am PDT (6am for those on the East Coast) or will it be finished sooner?

We won't know until it's actually completed. Just keep an eye on the lodestone for the news, and this page for server status: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/worldstatus/

The earliest would probably be during the weekly reset, so something like 1amPDT/4amEDT ish... I forget it its 2/3/4 CDT for the reset...

I am still waiting for the client update

Client says it's updated on their page but I get an error about not being able to do the version check. Anyone else getting that? Is it just because it's probably getting hammered?

i highly doubt it'll be finished early but if your lucky it might finish an hour early if were lucky but yeah just keep checking the site to see if its finished

Since it's right around reset, it won't finish before that...maybe AT reset but I wouldn't count on it before hand.

Yeah, the world servers aren't up and I didn't expect them to be but I was hoping the launcher would update. Maybe that requires the world servers to be up. I was hoping since the Lodestone maintenance was done that the client would be updated through that. Trying to participate in the bloodbath that will be house buying tonight, ya know?

It doesn't require the servers to be up. I frequently download patches a couple hours before the servers go live again.

There's still a few hours. Try again in a couple.

Well let me ask you this. Have you successfully updated your client or does it give you an error (or if you are not at your machine maybe someone else can chime in). Thanks in advance to anyone that answers.

There will be a post on the Lodestone that says ffxiv has been updated. Then you can start your client like normal and login and it will update. After the update it will just say the servers are offline until the maintenance is over.

It'll be 7am for me, so I can just wake up as normal.

or COULD if I slept at night. Luckily I took a nap and will stay up and join the great housing brawl.

The release date for Patch 3.3 is 7 June. SE will not bring up the servers until all of the continental US has reached that date i.e no sooner then 0100 PDT (IMO). Patch D/L is usual available 5 hours prior to scheduled end time.

It's 7:00 PM for me (and probably everyone in my server), so everyone will be on and there will be a mad rush for housing.

I would rather have to stay awake until 6 AM and have a better chance at getting one of the houses I want.

I don't think many people would expect the game servers to be up. They're not supposed to be yet. But the patch servers should be available by now if they're planning on bringing the game back up in less than six hours. Any maintenance on the patch servers should have been handled in the first 18 hours of the maintenance window (or better yet, the first twelve), not during the last few hours while people are supposed to be downloading the new version.

Well, instead of the Version Check error it's been giving up until now, it's now just giving the "game is unavailable for play during maintenance" error. But it's giving that error WITHOUT starting the download. So apparently we still can't get to the patch servers.

Come on, SE. We know it's unavailable for play, but at least make it available for download.

my plan is simple: sleep (strange concept, I know) and begin downloading the patch before I leave for work.
