Ill be a male cat.
Ill be a male cat.
The truth begins....
I'm tired being a hume for like 8 years (in ffxi). gonna switch to male miqo'te.
I'll stick with my female Miqo'te. I might try to lure my BF to change from male Hyur to male Miqo'te though LOL!
Is it confirmed we will be able to change race?
I doubt/hope it won't be possible but I probably will start a new character to see the beginning of the game in better quality.
I take no pride in the fact that I've leveled higher than the ps3 players in a broken game. This is also the reason why I ditched my lvl 50 character because the first months playing with that one wasn't exactly filled with memories worth holding onto.
Yes, the announcement said that with the new races coming out and how things will look different with the new engine they'll allow us to change our race/gender/etc at least once.
As for the OP, i'm gonna stick with my female Miqo'te but I might change her hairstyle and such if I like the way the new hairstyles look.
changing to male miqo'te.
I'm going to stick with being a female miqo'te, but I will be making a male miqo with my gf (who is also gonna make a male miqo) and those will be our alternative characters ^^
i dont know.. i dont wanna keep seeing a male's butt everytime i play lol. I'll stick with female.
I played a mithra in XI, I am a Seeker of the Sun in XIV, I will probably keep everything the same, might be tweaking skin tone to follow the more darker XI look. :3
Personally I'm torn.
When it comes to every class but GLA, I like Miqote more.
But when it comes to GLA, I like Hyur more.
I also like the haircut I have on my character better.
It may depend on possible haircuts added, for me to decide, OR if they change character stances based on race, like how GLA is.
(Which a hunched stance really bothers me about Miqote, which is why I switched from mithra in XI to hyur in XIV)
Depends on the graphics really. We'll see what it looks like and what variations are avalible once it lands
oh yeah I forgot they were going to add more hairstyles. lol
Right now i have the short bushy brown hair, but I may go for something that will better fit a Monk. :) Also, darker tan, yes please. I been out in Ul'dah long enough to where I should be pretty dark by now. lol
I'm going to stay a female Miqo'te, but I totally have to change my hair style+color.
I hated it pretty much since I started this game, but I was like "Oh, I'm rank 10 already, I'm not going to delete my character and all this work I've done."
...ah, I should have just done it, NOW I really won't delete my char anymore.
So I'm eagerly waiting for 2.0 to arrive with an option to change my hairstyle to something more girly, cute, some style that doesn't look like crap as soon as I'm wearing anything but a bandana..
And to become a Moon Miqo'te too, because they have a longer tail and very beautiful eyes, not like the boyish eyes I have now..
I also want to have white fur:o
Im not sure about your post. You seem upset that you lvl'd to 50, perhaps you rushed there. If you don't ENJOY playing this game then perhaps wait until 2.0 (I know a lot of ppl say that and I mean nothing bad by it, just seriously if you made it to 50 and started over because you had no fun, no memories worth holding onto, why subject yourself to that?)
I been playing since Beta, I took alc to 50 back in march or something, I just got THM 50 a few days ago. I got 2 50's, been playing since beta, and been having TONS of fun the ENTIRE time. I don't understand ppl sometimes, just because you CAN power level doesnt always mean you should.
I have lots of awesome memories attached to my character so I will not be changing, I will prolly make an alt tho with one of the new races.
I Was Hume Male in FF XI and in FF XIV, i am Male Lalafell but i am getting tired of cuteness and for mages class its okay but for warrior class, Lalafell are not very cool :( so i will change race and most certianly to mal miqote like a lot of people :D
I'm not "upset" about it but when playing now I can already see that this game is a lot better than it was at launch and I don't feel the need to rush to 50 again until I know that there's something there if you know what I mean.
That's why I also think starting new characters is fun because I honestly think the levels from 1-30 are still the most fun levels in this game and in XI. Maybe it's because I like to solo so much =)
Anyway I see the new races just as a new opportunity to start from scratch and play XIV like it was "meant" (yeah I don't know who's behind that intent either)to be played.
Definitely not. Catgirls >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> *
personally cat girls get tiresome after abit (omuhgawd did he just say what i think he said?) that said i've waited 8+ years for a catboy to be playable in FF so hells yeah im being one >3
Renshi is Renshi, and nothing is gonna change her. Maybe some scars and height, but I want to keep Renshi as she is.
nope, still staying as my girly kitty, but I will be changing her looks some, not sure what I was thinking with her skin color -.- I look horrible in the bathing suits.
Male Miqo'te. Though I'm going to lol when I log in after 2.0 and see nothing but kitty boys filling my screen. That is going to be so amazing.
I knew male mithra (well, i guess at this point male miqote, QQ) would be ridiculously popular but I'm getting the impression I have nooooooo ideaaaaaa...
I'm scared. I thought Westerners hated being pretty boys, isn't that why S-E felt the need to make the gruff looking guys? /lol
at this point I'd imagine that would be counter-intuitive! Actually, the concept art has them looking pretty girly. Like crazy girly. But I suppose that just goes to show you that the Japanese can't really figure us out. Always keeping the stereotype dynamic.
Their entrance has thrown my entire perception of catgirls off. Like I don't think I even acknowledged I was a nyao nyao catgirl in FFXI/V all this time until now. It's crazy. But, that's totally off topic on my part.
I will porlly be changing to a male miqo'te. but I'm gonna check out all the races for 2.0 first.
I'll have to play around with the new character creation with in-game rendering and moving around through environments to make a decision. ^^
I'm just glad the new races are finally coming. Will feel like a real world when all types are running around and not hidden in the corner of the world.
No no, I completely understand. I just can't figure out why the west is "turned off" by... I guess what I call stylized male characters, in a way. They're characters and, since they're exactly that, why should it matter if they're "girly" or "manly" at all? Isn't every character unique in its own way?
I hope I'm making sense. xD
If I change my race my awesome piece of paper I got for pre-ordering CE will be incorrect! :O
Nope, no intentions of changing. If I change anything, it will just be minor things.
Oh, you're making plenty. I'm sure the average Westerner would just feel emasculated, probably a bit insecure. It's probably on the lines of you needing to be a big macho guy to be a true hero (Which is funny because in WoW and such people were upset the human males were too toned, lol)
In my experience, the younger generations appreciate the "stylized male character" a bit more than the older generations - the odd exceptions, of course, considered still. But I think more so it just depends on the goals - Japanese players probably prefer a more realistic look - which is more versatile in general (most gamers are going to be slim or , well, at least not totally buff, as well, so it reflects them better) and Westerners are going to be very high fantasy - towering, hulking, and intimidating. That's at least how Western IPs (Warhammer, Warcraft, tabletop, etc) handles it.
Not to be stereotypical, but I'd imagine most players wanting to be a marauder would want to be a highlander more than a midlander, let alone a miqote. If "Thief" ever comes out, male miqote will rule supreme (you know, like Zidane)
>.> Really, though, when it was said Highlander exists to satisfy westerners, I got a little laugh, because I don't know anyone personally who wanted to be a tough hero type, despite wanting to be sturdy and reliable (tanks, etc)
In the end, I just blame the lack of imagination. People don't delve into true character crafting so commonly anymore. They'd rather fit a visual archetype and leave it at that.
(crap, tl;dr now.)
I'm not sure wheather I wanna change to male mi'qote or not, I'll play around with it to see if I wanna stay lala or not.
stick with female miqote, but I ll remodel her so she ll be more lady-like
I'm sticking to my female miqo'te, cause she's a star she's so hot.
lol the male miqo'te will go from being rare and reclusive, to one of the most common sights on the planet. anyway i don't know about changing, i half want to go as a lala-fell for the blackmage. but at the same time i like what i am now. being a highlander reminds me of home :P
the game title FFXIV with alt title : Cat/Nekomimi planet :D
