The amount of buffs bards just got holy shit.
Quite a lot to read but good information, thanks for posting the link!
XD Hey I wanted to post that!
My favourite point: FLYING Fenrir *O*
and WOAH: huge Bard boosts! (And boohoo..DRK There unsuitable Aura still unchanged... )= )
I'm interesting in knowing what it would take to be a "pvp mentor".
i think being a rank 50 pvper could be a proper requirement, from the amount of time it actually takes to hit the pvp cap. BUT there's no actual clarification if PVP mentor will be its own thing in the patch notes.
BRD & NIN will be so much more fun now. Katon from 170 to 250/Doton & Death blossom increases holy crap. Songs cast time halved/various damage buffs holy crap.
Death Blossom is a cross class skill too lol, time to be a Gladiator.....
An interesting future possibility has been inadvertently hinted at in those notes with a change to the maps:
Specifically, the sample map of Old Gridania shown, lists an arrow (the one shown pointing north) at what is meant to be the entrance to the Lily Hills (stated in the game as being the residential area for the 'elite' of Gridanian society), and which has been closed of and inaccessible since 1.0. So, with that arrow there states that one day that area will be opened up... the story possibilities for this are mind boggling. :3Quote:

When you see the Bard buffs....I was like zomg...wonder about AST.
and then you see them.....not too much >.>
No new Commendation achievement, the new Pegasus mount is looking more like a Mentor Roulette (especially with the 2,000 Roulettes done, ouch) or a PvP reward (100/200 Shatter wins?).
Alliance members being greyed out when not in rage is going to work very nicely in Frontlines, I'm excited for that. And also make cross-Alliance healing in the 24-man raids a lot easier as well.
Being able to see which GC battle highs/fevers belong to is actually a bit of a surprise to me. That really makes things a lot easier. And you'll especially be able to see who's winning if you see battle highs/fevers from different GCs meeting up and watching which colors drop first... Though why are Flames purple? XD
Dat bard buff o_o
Yet they still didn't give hint for unisex gear >_>
Slight PS4 Graphics upgrade: Yay!
Dark Knight Darkside damage upgrade: Yay!
Darkside buff is PvP only: Awwwww .-.
I'm starting to think it might be, because the color scheme for the mount's armor and the Field Commander's armor are almost identical. Plus if you look at the side of the mount, it does /kind/ of look like the Maelstrom symbol. I'm thinking this might be the Field Commander's Pegasus or something similar. And if they want to get people into PvP, what better way to do it than to add a double mount? I didn't see anything else that seemed like it would lead to a mount, and I'm hoping they stay true to their word and say that mentors will not get additional rewards to keep people from getting the status for the wrong reasons.

Nice, another 1-3% dps increase for SMN.
Only changes I really felt were needed were the Bard song cast time changes, though I'd have preferred a slightly different way of doing that, Death Blossum, and maybe AST Spread's CD reduction.
Bard already has higher theoretical dps than MCH, held back only by this tiers' particular mechanics. I don't know why it needed to be buffed to a point reminiscent of when I was typically outdpsing any other DPS as a support (pre-crossclass nerfs).
Really wish that MCH was at least getting some small bonuses, such as shot proc chances increasing per missed proc, to compensate.
Battle voice CD reduced *weeps tears of sweet sweet joy*
less time stood about after a raid wipe lol
They buffed Astro again but forgot to give White Mage back Graniteskin.
Not sure what it is but this patch notes doesn't feel as good as the other ones. Nothing here really surprised me like the other ones did.
Cordials can now be crafted. I think this has literally been requested since the games release and now they're finally adding it. Alchemists and gatherers rejoice.
It is useful, just it's too situational. It doesn't have the same wow factor as any other skill Jobs get when they reach 60. Yanno the "oh wow I'm so glad I'm a *insert Job*" feeling. Like the old Lustrate had.
And...no nerf on crafting red scripts. I guess a server transfer mission is in order.
Those Katon, Doton, and Death Blossom buffs get me hot.
Also yay bard.
>_> Is it bad that the thing I was most excited about is finally being able to hide quests? lol
The pattern of the cloth looked a lot like previous Commendation rewards rather than Field Commander's Set. Other than being white (and having minor red decal) it doesn't look that much like Field Commander's gear. It is also missing the strong presence of black that the FC set has (especially on the helm which is the most armor-like peice on the set and it's black with gold decal).
Commenation rewards compared to new mount and Field Commander's Set:
Though, because there is no commendation achievement listed in the pre-notes, despite how perfectly it fits with the previous commendation rewards, I think it's safe to say that it is not. :(
Not really. Maelstrom's logo is a boat and the symbol doesn't even look like it connects on the bottom, which is where the Maelstrom logo is actually thickest. I don't think it looks like any of the GC symbols to be honest. o.o" I think it's just a random decal.Quote:

Logo:
I agree. My main reasoning behind thinking that this is a PvP mount is because the only 3 other armored horse mounts in the game all come from PvP, so that's why I could see them throwing this into Shatter. Especially to hype it up. I'm really hoping it isn't the Kirin of Warsteeds (get all 3 Warstreeds to get this mount, which is 100 wins on each GC) as that would be most painful. XD But it doesn't really have the look of all 3 GCs for me to believe that (specifically it's missing blue/black for Flames).Quote:

I do believe they also stated before that they wanted to do something with getting the PvP mounts flying. ADS flies, Gloria flies, but none of the GC horses do and I think that they should stay as ground mounts, personally. But this is a good compromise for having a armored flying horse. Though, I must admit the white Pegasus looks very different compared to the dark horses with Noct-like armor.
Warsteeds:
I strongly agree with this as well. I could see this being a 1,000 or 2,000 Mentor Roulette in an attempt to get more mentors or more mentors to actually do their Mentor Roulette. But I have a feeling this would backfire horribly. People would just grind Mentor Roulette on an unpopular language in attempts of getting runs with their friends, or speed running the roulette, or even kicking new players. :c That's why I really hope it's not.Quote:

"New optional items have been added!"
"Armored Pegasus: $30 USD"
The Bard buffs make no sense. DoT damage was basically the one thing that -shouldn't- have been touched, and yet that's where most of the damage increase is going to hail from.
Bard's problem is what happens when a fight makes it so that their DoTs just aren't going to be good - this changeset fails to address that, while also introducing risk of overcompensation (making MCH undesirable) depending on what A9-12 looks like.
It's not consistent with anything SE has said or done in recent times. i.e. they say they want MCH to always be a bit ahead, and then buff Bard's ceiling damage way more than its floor. i.e. they give Monks Chakra and buff Ruin 3 to help those classes shore up weaknesses, and then buff Bard... DoT damage?
I suppose it's consistent in the sense that SE consistently fails to grasp how 3.0 Bard works.
I really hope your wrong. I hate PvP but I really really want this mount. Even so, it will not make me PvP just to get it. I'll just give up on it.
This seems way more likely, since all the other two seater mounts were from Mog Station or Recruitment bonus.
This patch note was pretty beefy. Looking forward to the 3.3 Patch :D
The Moogle beast tribe looks fun :)

This must be an error. Really tey won't give a item to upgrade the Lore gear and give a Esotheric gear one? Also, it is weekly, so Iguess is an error and they mean Lore, not Esotheric.
I don't think the Pegasus will be from pvp if it's a double mount, Since you can't ride them in the pvp areas :(. But I could very well be wrong xD.
i know those are not the full notes but no flying tanks mounts?
Everything looks awesome. Of course excited for all the battle content, housing, new crafting/gathering and new Frontlines.
But, even some of the little things excite me - like being able to craft cordials, being able to dye my relic, etc.
