It's going to be a bloodbath no matter when they open, though.
I have enough saved for a small plot, but I don't know if I even want one. I wish we knew more about Ishgard housing.
Well, Ishgard housing is planned for 3.5, I think? So if you're not THAT desperate to get a personal house right away, you can always wait the roughly half year that will take to happen.
Else, there's also apartments coming in 3.4.
Sadly, the moving feature is coming after all of the above (which is really weird, SE. Just saying.) so I guess if you're considering Ishgard housing, the less expensive course of action would be to wait.
Slightly more expensive option would be to get a house now, and trash it for a new one later. :P Which is entirely feasible, to be fair.
Not just for myself, my FC has been saving ever since SE said they were adding new wards and our leader would be devastated if she couldn't procure a new house for use, especially considering she has to demo the house we've had for two-years. And I'm sure we aren't the only FC doing this.
SE opening servers early messes up a lot of peoples' chances at getting a house.
The maintenance won't end before the weekly reset takes place which is 3/4am (depending if it daylight savings or not) to prevent people from rushing the server to cap stuff before reset and be ahead of everyone. Otherwise they pretty good on their time frames. Anyways if you want a house you better be ready to log in early regardless cause even a person logging in few minutes before you can give them a huge advantage.
i just hope, no more dicks around buying houses with alts, that is the worst thing ever (also retarded)
The server will go up when it goes up. It's going to be the same way it's always been. Sometimes early, sometimes late.
This is pretty much the truth for the higher populated servers where housing is a big issue. Balmung always implodes within about 2 minutes of the patch going live and that's without housing as an incentive go get lots of people going early. I think this is going to be the first patch that I don't wake up early to play because I have 0 desire to deal with it.
I get the feeling the devs would rather open the servers early and risk people not being able to get their plot before others because they weren't able to log on early than the sheer number of people flooding the servers all at once crashes the game.
what about make a list reporting ppl who have pseudo FC with only 1 member (alt) and having house(s) i do a research for few minuts on lodestone. we can ask a massive /ban or at least fix that terrible mafia in the game.
Sorry, but ban them for what? Using their 8 characters per account to create and level multiple FCs and buy multiple houses? All of which the system/current rules lets them do?
I wish I had as much time as those people, because I admit I'd totally be doing the same! You can never have too many gardens! (well you probably can, but still...) :D
I think they never think that class of dick moves in game (or may be im just wrong at all), hope they raise the requeriments in the future or change/bind house per account as i read before in forums.
we playing a multi player game and get more than enough and let ppl without house IMO is not the way for play this. but may be ppl enjoy the "race" stuffs or no have live/job/ other thing to do besides play like a addict.
I think you need to curb the salt a bit. This game HAS been out for a long time, and I can speak for myself when I say i put a VERY long time into saving the gil to not only get myself a medium sized house but also a small house for my free company. I have a life, manage to work a fulltime job, and play tons of other games aside from FFXIV, but it took me at least two years. It's NOT a dick move. I worked for it. I earned it.
A much easier solution, rather than going on a massive banning spree, would be to request SE to allow alts access to the person's main house. Then they could actually limit housing to one per account without upsetting people. And also, another terrible move by SE is introducing the moving feature so late, which has made people make alts, pseudo FCs and in extreme cases demolishing plots.
It is frustrating, but I see no point in blaming the players when they're not actually doing anything wrong in accordance with housing rules at the moment.
They still restrict number of logins when server is up to avoid bottleneck so there's no real fairness anyway.
