Dual wield class/job can I have it?

Dual wield class/job and I don't mean ninja wielding 2 small swords, I'm thinking along the line of 2 full size swords, something akin to how Musashi Miyamoto's 2 swords wielding style and not restricted to samurai swords but include European swords also.

I know Yoshi-P got enough on his hand but I'm just being hopeful that after 2.0 is done may be Yoshi san would consider this possibility, I know it's a long shot :p but what do the rest of you think?

I want to be a damage dealer wielding swords that can compete with other DD classes by throwing away my shield in favored for another sword on my off hand and do very high damage at the cost of defense, however my parry rate would have to be high as well.

Do you guys think this is over powering it too much? I'd love to hear your suggestions and opinions.

Gladiators should be able to use dual long sword wielding,hell,if you take a look at FF wikia you can see that gladiators can use almost every weapon,but that would be very over powered.
I'm sure they will add dual-wielding to gladiator in the future.

Erm....about the dual wielding class, what I meant was wielding 2 FULL SIZE swords, not daggers.

I'm sure there are ninja class fan out there that are thrilled at this news but please please Yoshi-P san please consider 2 full size swords >_<

No thanks to dual-wielding becoming a general thing. Weren't people bitching that this game lacked class identity?

That isn't to say that I wouldn't approve of a Scout class being able to dual wield a la Rikku from FFX-2 that leads up into Ninja. Go for it, Yoshi-P!

I want two swords too. Not daggers or ninja weapon. I want to throw away my shield and replace it with a second sword.

Dual Wielding two big swords is kind of silly, What Yoshi described makes much more sense and sounds interesting.

Honestly I don't think this is something we should be discussing for a long time, there are other fundamental priorities that need addressing and the team is already more than busy all the way to 2.0.

I would like to have a dual wielding job in the future, but right now the priority seems to be job and class balance & identity. It would be cool to have a blade dancer or sword dancer, but that's not been it's own job in the past, at least not that I can remember.

When I said "full size" I meant normal length swords, I'm not talking about great swords that required 2 hands to wield.

Yes, I agreed that asking for new DoW class right now is way too early as Yoshi-P said that himself that FF XIV need more DoM classes, I only bring this up while the ideas are still fresh since the question just been asked on the letter from the producer live. IMO I'm not expecting anything till at least 2.0 is implemented or new expansions are add later on, that's not till 1-2 years away.

really? that is on your list of things to laugh at? how sad......

i wonder if the dual wielding mentioned would be 2 daggers in which case you could use to different balded, or one set of a weapon like pug has now.

would be nice to be bale to pick 2 separate daggers although it would take up 1 more inv spot

An interesting point.

Regarding Gladiator as a DD class, that could be done with using both hand to wield the sword in favor for higher damage (as per what Yoshi-P had mentioned), I'm asking for dual wield 2 normal length swords for aesthetic reason.

We may not have to make new class for this, how about when a 2nd sword is equiped a new sets of abilities involving using 2 swords made available whilst when a shield is used a set of shield specific abilities would become available.

Also the idea if dual wield being an off shoot class of gladiator isn't going to make gladiator class less unique, if a GLA using shield is leaning more toward tanking how about a GLA that wield 2 swords or wield 1 great sword with both hand would lean more toward being a swordsman or sword master that are more proficient in DD than tank.

This dual wield class I'm talking about could even become a samurai class for all we know, I'm just not too keen on getting stuck with katana and wakizashi.
