Could the icon for Royal Road be changed so we can tell what buff we have a bit easier rather than a small icon in an icon?
Maybe like so;
Green - Area of Effect
Red - Longer Duration
Blue - Enhanced

I actually would like the hotbar button to change to the "buff" that we have too instead of just changing colors on the small hud, which I might even get the color for royal road buff (if implemented) confused with my held spread if what op said happened
Playing the color game is rough, not only do certain cards have colors related to them but not everyone can really see color.
It's really not that hard to know though. And if they make it color based it would be hard for people who are color blind.
Personally I find it easy to tell now just by the card I royal roaded. Sure it takes some time getting used to at first but after that it becomes like instinct or something
I second yawnie
At first it seems à little bit confusing
But once you're used to your card
You can manage your next card in'one instant knowing the effect, the enhancement and who's gonna use it well
Memorizing what you Royal Road'd before is ideal yes, but a simple colored icon or even a different shaped icon for each effect would be really helpful, especially for us console gamers where we can't easily just mouse over the buff to see what it is.
Hum there is 3 icon
Why do you want to mouse over it ?
If you change RR color it could be confused with the card itself
Memorisation is key
3 RR
6 card
And the best would be
The 24 combinaisons
Another way to look at it is... Spear & Arrow buffs manipulate time (Clockface). Balance & Bole are straight buffs that increase/reduce damage dealt/damage taken, thus "enhancing" the target (Plus). And the Spire & Ewer is basically a mini Bard/Machinist's AoE Resource Song.
Not really hard to memorize... Especially if you leveled from 30 to 60 and did a handful of dungeons.
Is it really a problem? If you really have trouble remembering which icon is which effect by the time you're level 60 you have bigger issues. I don't think arbitrarily color-coding skills would solve anything in that regard.
AST can be a little overwhelming at first but you get used to it and it becomes second nature. It's all part of the learning curve, really.
The icons make sense right now.
A clock for more time on buffs, a plus for more potency and a pizza to serve everyone.
Having graphically different picture in each icon is a good idea for everyone. However, having each picture have different background color would help majority of the people, while it shouldn't make current situation any worse even for those who don't see the colors the same way. They'd still have the plus, clock and ring to differ them by. Color coding something doesn't have to mean color is the only way to separate them, it just eases it for those who can associate colors to different things.
If people have trouble telling what Royal Road is activated then i'm scared they don't even know what cards they have drawn.
Yes and no
People should have a basic memory of 2 card... i mean it's always the card you draw before that you have to keep in mind
This is part of the AST job to analyse his card and the situation
There is no need to make it even simpliest that it is now.
...
To add to darkmoon
Card are an additionnal concept to the healing of an AST
Any competent AST can do his job without card (and Without bole)
Like any competent scholar can heal a group without his fairy (which is not the case for 95% of the sch out there)
