Patch day and occasional repairs in Idyllshire and Hinterlands

One of the things I have enjoyed in FFXIV is how certain new areas are built up over time to reflect posterity in certain regions.

There are two things I would like to see leading up to 4.0, but wasn't sure whether they were being considered:

1: the outer gates of idyllshire are crumbling into the cliffs below, and look as if they used to have doors. Please eventually repair them to like-new status.

2: The Aetherial network of Sharlayan was destroyed some time ago. Perhaps with an influx of npcs to the region, they can be seen repairing or replacing them soon?

They are already establishing the Aetherial network in Idylshire. I doubt that will be spread out to the Hinterlands because A) there would be game mechanic reasons for not doing it and B) from a lore perspective the majority of the Hinterlands is not secured territory and both protecting the network and insuring it wasn't used as a back door into Idylshire for nefarious purposes would difficult.

I suspect we will see a lot of repairs in 3.3 though. In just 2 patches the area has had massive repairs.

I get B, but A? The rest of the aethereal Networks transport between two Zones with only Idylshire's entirely being in one zone.

Anyone got pictures of what Mor Dohna looked like over the patches? Missed out on seeing that place be built up.

What's even more mind-boggling is that the crews aren't just doing repairs, but are also performing land reclamation! I'm fairly certain the goblin furnace near the aetheryte crystal sits on land that wasn't there in 3.0. And judging by the scaffolding, I suspect we may see new built-up spaces near the vegetable plots.

Makes me wonder when the crews would get around to reinforcing the pillar that the entire town stands on. Idyllshire is getting increasing top-heavy. :eek:

Because the Hinterlands is a open world rather than city zone. The Aethernet system is so you can move around settlements easily. Installing instant teleportation systems in a open world map is unnecessary (because of flight) and undermines the sense of space in the in a zone.

Yeah I know but then again with what that settlement sits on to begin with I would think it madness to live there.

Thats a very old answer, and it has already being solved.
He was talking about the aetherites that can transport us to the outside of the town.

All i meant about the gates was the ones at the idyllshire zone lines.

They are collapsed, unwelcoming. Could use a fixup.

Wasn't it the case they originally wanted to include Idyllshire into the Hinterlands, but ran into memory issues?

It's probably the same reason the extremely obvious Binding Coil entrance in Mor Dhona was never used. Putting the raid entrance everyone AFKs around in the same zone as the vendors everyone AFKs around would end up locking people out of the zone most of the time.
