Well hopefully they're letting us since it's annoying to have to wear a weaker ring because you already have the best one.
Ever thought about one of those rings being NOT the healer-one? Or one being the one from the NM and the other being savage?
That screen really doesnt prove that we're going to be able to obtain two unique pieces of gear...
Could be Prototype and Midan Ring. They share the same model. Though I'm sincerely hoping it's the same one and a hint that we'll be allowed to equip two of the same accessory.
All that picture proves is that you can equip two rings with the same icon. And since all rings are equip able by all classes/jobs, that really means nothing. Those could be a slaying ring and a fending ring, for all we know.
Will they implement an autoequiping feature? :confused:
It's not the first time they have non-unique accessory screenshots from their test server.
Don't get your hopes up.
First picture: she is wearing two different rings. On a "recommended gear" window are two of the same ring listed for those slots, with arrows pointing to each slot which has an upgraded/better piece available. Only one ring has that arrow, implying that she only has one of the same ring.
Second picture: she is now wearing two rings with the same icon. Nothing proves she is wearing exactly what was showing in the "recommended gear" list, so we cannot conclude that both her rings are the same.
I see, don't know why I didn't notice that :D. Going by her stats, she is wearing two healing rings in the second picture.
Its a developer error. It happens.

This are their testing server. They have access of testing tools that we can't. Which is logical. Probably they can equip anything they want for test purposes.
Could we perhaps get the "unique" qualifier removed from tomestone gear?
This is a particular problem for SMN and BLM (and also possibly some of the healer jobs?). Since the advent of meldable gear, it has become impossible to carry well-specced gear sets for both caster jobs.
BLM wants as much spell speed as possible, whereas it ranks lowest among the secondaries for SMN (better than 2.X when it was virtually a blank stat, but still worse than crit and determination) so the jobs often want the same pieces, but with different melds. I would be fine with acquiring each piece twice and melding them differently, but at the moment I am prevented from doing so since I cannot carry two of the same item.
Honestly I don't see what the unique qualifier accomplishes on tome gear. It's not rolled on, it's not convertible to GC seals (while current at least) and you can't wear two of the same item anyway (with the exception of rings) as the gear slots are all type-locked.
Looks like the recommendation is to wear one of the prototypes. There's only an arrow next to one.
It's probably either the savage one or a non-healer one that's otherwise on there.
Or it's dev mode hax that won't apply to regular players.
This happened in their screenshots when the glamour system was debuted. They had a mage (think it was Yoshi-P's lalafell) wearing two of the Allagan Rings of Casting and people made a big hubbub. It's just how it is on the testing server, no need to get aggressive. I'm just amused they make that "oops" again.
Wow, actually found the picture (pre-2.2 mind you). Even if you can't read the Japanese, pretty sure you can see that the rings have the exact same text.

Looking at it the arrow pointing at the eso ring meaning it will replace it for the prototype ring and you can see on the left it shows current equipment that they already have one on and the next picture shows both equipped meaning they either no loner unique or devs are hacking in the test server.
I'd love to have the rings without the "Unique" trait: It would be easier for getting the one accessories that you need, without to get an inferior version for the other slot.
That, or make two different rings. I don't care I guess.
