Main Scenario/Dungeon Preview (Some images)
Seems 3.3 coming 7th of June based on what they said on the lodestone. Also some images from the next Warring Triad.
Edit: Cleaned it up a bit and put the images into sections. Also it seems there is a 20 image capacity on the post so the 2 missing images are from Hullbreaker.

Really like the design of the mobs :)

Doesn't look like we may be fighting a Triad in this part of the Warring Triad saga. Most likely it may be a Garlean theme thing for plot reasons since we have yet to obtain much info on how the Garleans are doing in Azys Lla
-
Oooh, that snail from VI.

"Beginning of June" in SE terms means June 21st, maybe the 28th.

We may still be fighting Sophia or Zurvan. The screenshots are likely from a mini-solo duty like our visit to the Vault in 3.1 and the Grand Melee in 3.2.

That slug is so adorable *-*
I wanna pet it and then it's probably gonna eat me.
-
I guessed June 7th too.. Wish it was 31st of May though..

If it doesn't have a mechanic where it counterattacks with Megavolt when it retreats into its shell, I'm going to be extremely disappointed.

It didn't reflect damage when it retreated in VI, it counter attacked with massive party wide lightning aoe.

Brain fart. I was thinking of another boss from a different FF game that used a similar mechanic. I can't believe I forgot Megavolt.

I already see the nerf incoming when this mechanic stops groups from clearing because that one party member won't listen. >_>
-
So nobody here cares that Nidhogg looks like he would be at his full power form?
no question taht we will have a trial.

No one will care cause it'll be a main story trial, and those are usually easy after a blunder or two.

I see it being more in the vein of the fight with Nabriales in the Chrysalis

and I foresee people ignoring the mechanic completely 2 months after patch, and healing through it.

Unless its always a one-shot kill mechanic if its not done properly :p

Alas... although Nabriales wasn't as bad as the Lahabrea debacle, it could still have been reserved for a harder mode of difficulty. Same with the two in the ACF. Shame they don't do hard mode versions of those fights. I'm betting Niddhog will endure a similar fate, which is sad.

It's not, that snail got a few nasty things up its sleeve, unless they scale Y'mir down so the party doesn't make the mistake of attacking its shell.

Might get another case of this
"Keep attacking the shell guys! DPS DPS DPS!"

More dps is always the solution.

After seeing that image I really want to know what happens in the main scenario.
Estinien getting a new Gae Bolg.

I'd honestly love a Nabriales, Minstrel Ballad.

ffxiv in a nutshell

Not entirely true, but certainly for the non-savage/-extreme mode content that is often the case.

I'd like them to just do much harder versions of what are meant to be very powerful entities, period, rather than what is essentially a fanciful embellishment of it, and just make a casual version of it for those who just want to see the story.

The new trial is getting a story mode...AND an EX mode.
Watch Nidhogg EX become the next Thordan EX...

Is that confirmed? If so, wonderful! Every major antagonist deserves an EX mode to better show off their capabilities. It's a good compromise, I think, since regular players can breeze through the story mode and those interested in a challenge can indulge in the more challenging version of the fight. Even better if there's more neat themed weapons/armour to be acquired.

Cool, now give me a Nabriales EX mode... and an EX mode version of the last fight in the ACF... aaaand one for any future Regula and/or Varis (not that I want him to die) fights. <.< And I'll be a happy au ra.

If there is new gear for Nidhogg I really hope the devs are above releasing re-skinned Dreadwyrm weapons...

..which will never happen in a normal dungeon, let's face it. OHKO attacks are reserved for raids and ex trials. And tbh, I'm glad about that - it would end with just wipe after wipe in the DF.

Aww I guess we won't see shinryu until 4.0

The last letter (XXIX) is my source.

It is cute I guess but I liked it in VI better, too cute to kill where as in VI I don't feel bad about killing a lifeless nasty snail.

Ooh, is that a Fan Wizard I see there? Yay more wacky FFV enemies!

for longest time I couldn't work out what it was, I saw a scary looking face but didn't know it was actually the body of something
