Warriors, help in Feast please

Not sure what i'm supposed to be doing. I'm stuck around 800 with about 250 matches played.

If you can answer, who do you target? Do you target the (1) nine times out of 10 it's the dps without the defense buff. Then everyone says kill the healer after that. Thats what i've experienced.


I use my thrill of war as often as possible. At the bursty beginning, and when it's up again. I use my limit break when the other team is slaughtering someone. Try to holmgang if anyone we are killing runs away. Or if melee is killing the healer.


Any tips?

Just saying i think most of us are/have gotten stuck around 800 rating. As for advice i currently have none for that class. Wish you luck in the feast.

i have the same issue, i can't get higher than 900,
in most case i am doing what you do exept when there a blm, i may want our melee to go blm and i go healer directly, because a blm free to cast is a pain.
After that it's seem your way to play is correct, i get stuck to 900, because i have often a loosing streak get me back to 800.

out of 7 match loosed in a raw i see the result a drg was doing 50k damages : OK it happen i can't fight this, and others match is loosed because of something like this too : What can i do ?, and finaly 2 matchs is loosed because of 2 mistake of my part. [got too much stacked, din't get fast enough to achieve a monk before the time over]
You need to learn from them because it make your loose streak even bigger.
It make me think i can't afford to any mistake, you don't need to make mistake to loose, make mistake is a bonus on your loosing rate...

Depends if you see your healer is struggling stun/debuff their dps/tanks then switch again. Also dont forget you can use holmgang to pull healers behind a wall (when you see your team bursting someone down) sometimes its even useful to stun a healer at full hp to prevent him from healing when a enemy dps etc. is at like 5%. TBH in most cases your enemy healer shouldnt be a problem just burn him down alone if he is bad and purify your healers fullswing/sleep. There is no way how to tell someone to play warrior in feast it depends on the current situation sometimes you help your healer sometimes you just focusing on burst etc.

Just stay on heals for start, if you blow your cooldown (i.e. double fell zerk) on the focus with the dps generally means all three of you just burned all your cooldowns, and now not as useful.

Go onto heals, build 5 stacks, then do the standard standard IR>Zerk>break sheilds>Hol>Full swing>stun>Fell>stun>Fell>mercy Likely case the healer would have to had blown one of or more of the major cooldowns to live though that. So you got the kill, or your dps should have gotten a kill while you tied the healer up with that. Now they which to heals and triple team them, and without the healer have its big cooldowns you should be able to kill. (note I like to sit on 5 stacks when this happens and only use when I see hp drop below 30%ish)

Tank LB is not that great if someone is below 40% already, they are likely still dead. I generally tend to drop shortly after I see them regroup after we got a kill, likely there buffs are coming back up and we are at high risk of someone dieing then.

I have played around with thrill right at opening, vs. delaying a bit not sure which one works better. But I would 100% not use it as soon as it is up again. After opening I like to use it as a "save" from say a caster or ranged LB or after a healer death to save a melee/ranged from being killed as we run back.

Whenever I don't have zerk available I also tend to sit on 5 stacks. I can then peel off healer and drop it on the the focus, or if focus is not close and I see a larger heal going off use it to interrupt.

Generally how I handle things, other strats out there.

What you can't and shouldn't do is stay on healer the whole match, I like to open with attacking their tank/dps and try to bait out their stunts, then go for healer and do a stun > aoe push back > holmgang/full swing into ir/zerk double fell cleave. If their dps does not die, your team might have a dps issue, if the healer does not die or breaks out, continue chase but after a couple of minutes, you might want to switch target because that healer knows your plan.

definitely never stay on healer for a full game. play along with the team and focus fire whatever they ask you to. sometimes optimal strategy requires split damage so if you have lots of CD's and you know how to take another player from 100 to 0 solo then there's nothing wrong with that. but blindly sticking to the healer all game is not going to get you anywhere.

other thing i highly recommend is to treat coinage like you aren't even the tank. only go up to 4 stacks if you have no other choice, but otherwise make sure your team splits because even 4 is bad and will make your healer start dumping too much MP on you. and when you have to swap to defiance your dps suffers in turn, which means you can't relieve healer pressure since you likely can't kill the other side, which makes it even worse for the healer since they will never get a breather. i see so many tanks go for the 2nd pickup right away and hit 4 stacks and it almost always comes back to bite the team in the end. if you're at 4 stacks, you're gonna end up being a problem. beyond that, if you're at 5 stacks or more, you are the problem. and if you're one of those diva tanks who thinks they should try to pick up all the coins and be 10 stacked for the entire match, then you don't know what you're doing and you are going to be losing more games than you win.

if you do accidentally go up to like 7, 9, or 10 stacks and it's the middle of the game you should try to suicide so your team has enough time to recover and kill them back for that stack again. a lot of times the wrong person on the other team will take what you dropped and go to 10 instantly themselves, so you actually get it back fairly quickly (and onto the right person). if it's really late in the game (like 1 minute left) then you don't have a whole lot of choice but to survive. at that point smart CD usage, good kiting, and being in constant LOS of your healer can buy you enough time to win the match. still, never go up to high stacks if you can help it.

also exept when we burst /stun or homlang a healer behind a wall we cant make healer unable to heal.
i am certainly focusing too much the healer actualy

On the middle of a fight, i think the right choice is to stun healer only one time by minute ?, i saw some melee complain the healer get stun resist, if he don't use macro how we can know he have a LB up.
I can't afford to stun healer a dps target is low on hp in middle of fight if it make the healer impossible to lb after. and use only stun for my burst.
if your melee take adreline kit, how much kit will give a lb ?

you should not use your stun at all until your double fell cleave under berserk and full swing.
typical WAR rotation is get storms eye up > pre-berserk internal release > full swing followed immediately by fell cleave > stun > fell cleave > mythril tempest.

That rotation is a sure kill on pretty much any healer, if you're lucky with crits you can even kill a healer with def buff. but you have to bait purify and their big heals which is why most WARs fail at their burst because they do not wait or read enemy healers.

you may need to alternate, you encounter some times the same healer he is able to adapt.

Sometimes it is also good to use full swing to bait purify from a healer too. The list is endless and situational and as you said, most healers will adapt so we have to be one step ahead.
