DRG relic looks like cheap stick

compared to gae bolg, rhongomiant just looks bad. why is it so thin? and the red part, the actual spear looks disjointed with the blue spiky part.

just look at where the blue part is combined with the red spear, its like someone put super glue over it and hope it doesnt come off,

not to mention the handle gets super thin in the middle for some reason instead of evenly distributed like gae bolg making it look like a toothpick

Holy shit it does look like a cheap stick.

Hey at least we have something to use when we want to cook some marshmallows over fire.

I agree the lance looks thin like a needle. And when i zoom in.... Well that looks like bones of a dragon fetus attached to it lol XD

Edit: But hey it takes time to get used to it. Kinda like the way it glows :D

Looks a lot better than nin's though. The blunt edges are too thick that one has to wonder how can the wepons slice through anything.

IMO it looks better than Longinus.

I like its aesthetic. I've been wanting a thinner lance to match my light armor-wearing DRG. The colors dont really match anything I like to wear, but thats okay. Most of the lance designs in FFxiv have felt uninspired, like the Slipstream Partisan and the awkwardly short Bizmarck lance. I'd like to see more ideas taken from Monster Hunter in weapon design in the future. More halberds, naginatas, or maybe a sword-spear like in Dark Souls 3. :)

Every lance in this game looks pretty bad, show me one that looks good, I dare you.

edit: I thought of one myself after a while of hard thinking, the diamond lance from shiva extreme looks alright.

Also, if you want a REAL cheap stick glamour, farm Sohm Al as DRG. or waste 10k MGP on DRG weapon in Gold Saucer.

Dragoon tends to get the short end of the stick when it comes to cool looking weapons. I did find one I liked and using it as a permanent glamour unless I find another cooler one.

If that is a cheap stick, what does a expensive stick look like?

If monks get teapot fists, I think dragoons should get a "expensive stick" weapon. It could be a sharpened stick of a high quality wood.

We demand expensive stick nao or riot!

I quite like the Thordan Ex halberd of the heavens. At least it doesn't always look like "pointy thing on the end of a stick" like many of the other lances do.

I liked the direction they were going with the lance we originally bought in Idyllshire with Law tomes - can't recall the name but it looks like a giant claw on the end and you could dye it.

Elite Storm Trident also looks pretty cool and not lanceish.

But yeah, not a fan of Rhongomiant. Especially that magenta color... blergh.

It's not a good design. The colors are awful. It seems very short and cheap. I would like to see something without fancy colors on it. Besides we have the glows on it to give color.

I don't know of any sticks that look like that. I'd love to see the tree that thing comes from.

Yep probably one of the best ones out there, and the Allagan Weapon is cool, Leviathan one is ok.

As far as the Relics go, Bard looks horrid also and tbh i prefer how my Zeta blm weapon looked over Anima but... i like the glow

I like the Gae Bolg as it is. Well... I upgraded mine to have the light blue look. Now I just glamor it with any lance I use. I especially love that mechanical "clang" sound when you draw the weapon as it changes to attack form.

I don't mind the design itself, but I think the spear is just too small compared to the Gae Bolg and Brionac. Make it as long as Brionac and increase the size of the head of the spear to be more like Gae Bolg and it'd be perfect.

Different strokes for different folks. Not everybody is going to like the design of every piece of gear, including special pieces of gear. If you don't like it then either find something you do like to glamour over it or...just don't do the quest in the first place.

There's a reason why the ARR relics are the best looking relics.

You all forgot the best looking spear in the game. Don't worry, I'll forgive you this time. Just don't forget again!

The DRG relic looks fine in my opinion. At least compared to 70-80% of the MCH weapons. Granted MCH guns are so small that SE can't probably do much with them and even if tried they would still mostly look same from a moderate distance unfortunately. I generally have to zoom right up close just to notice any difference in most MCH guns.

There has been a precedent of ultimate spears looking rather plain. Take FF XII for example.
