Bring back the old school - a small request for the future

Dear Players and Developers

I would like to request to bring back the old school raiding from 1.0. Not the same one, but the best it had back then and mix it with what we have now.

Just remember guys, when was the last time you need to use your CC moves? like silence, aoe sleep, stun? Back in time, the first coil t2, silence rotation or you will wipe. Stun the Chimera for relic quest, Aoe sleep to avoid useless trash mob and move faster to the boss.

Remember when you had to break the horns of Ifrit to weak him (just it doesn't 1 shot you). Break the goat horn to be able to get drops (or increase chances).

What i recall of this... because i am tired of memorizing all the dance steps over and over plus even the healers have to dps to be able to advance... or just wait till Echo/gear get there to free ride you.

Back in the old time (1.0), fighting the big cyclops Coincounter (don't remember the name) was hell a blast. You needed to adjust as it seem fit, not recognize a pattern, most stuff random... feel so alive and challenging.

If you run a dungeon, you have a small chance to get a drop, if you do it faster (way faster) your chance to drop increased (remember guys those Dark light gear). All player had chances to get stuff, just the time to get them was the difference.

Please reconsider some of the stuff you have done since the begging, mix them (the present with the past) and i am sure the result will be a totally different kind of experience while doing stuff when doing raiding, normal dungeon, diadem, Nyzul, or whatever is coming in the future.

Ahh back in the day when bards and plds had to silence ADS in t1 and t2 coil all he'd paralyze you all and itd end in a wipe man I Miss those days nowadays you can just ignore stuff like that or heal through the damage.

I may be the odd man out, but I don't really like "do this or wipe" mechanics. >.>

Yep same here, that's why i quit raiding in this game all together.
If I want 1 shot mechanics, I go play a bullet-hell game.

Sadly, for the sake of balance, many jobs and even dungeon/trial have to be homogenized just so people won't prefer one job over the other. Of course, that's not really the case, but that seems to be their reasoning.

Most weren't one-shot though. If you ignored them things got infinitely harder, but not to the point of instantly killing you.

Still stuff like that around. Some examples from recent Savage:

A3s, CCing Mucilage to prevent a Sprint wipe during add phase, slowing everything to give you more time to kill them.
A4s, stunning active leg to prevent Perpetual Ray from draining TP/MP and decreasing its damage significantly.

A5s, stunning Steel Scales on snake adds

A6s, Blaster has Mind Blast which is most likely a wipe if you don't silence it, a more annoying High Voltage actually. Brawler P2 adds can be CCed, Controlling Betas with CC to stagger the damage, slowing Alphas etc.

I think they were referring to current game mechanics, not 1.0 mechanics. There are PLENTY of one-shot mechanics in the current game, usually in the form of massive unavoidable AoE damage which you need to DPS through to avoid.

Every time I go into A6S I use both Silence and Stun, so... Thursday night. >_>

Stuff like this would be a terrible idea for DF. It'd lead to people kicking new/undergeared players. :|
