Any help on what to do next?

I've started to get into 50+ crafting for a few classes. Mainly my Carpenter and Weaver. I'm having a really difficult time HQing the recipes for turn ins and such. My Weaver is at 53 while Carpenter is 51. I have a few other classes that are 50, Goldsmith and Alchemist. CUL is at 37 while Leather worker is at 30, The other 2 are at sitting at 15. I've got some of the ilvl65 HQ crafting set along with other random parts of gear, mostly the level 50 artifact gear. As for accessories, I have mostly the level 50 gear. I need some advice, what should my next course of action be? I forgot to mention that Miner as at 52 while Botanist is at 53. I also don't have a lot of money either.....

The biggest problem I had post 50 with mine were in understanding how to get to get the HQ. It's different pre-50. You have to really kinda relearn things. The pre-50 is focusing on the HQ bar to get it to 100% or near there. Post is different.

Basically, you have to train yourself not to really pay attention to the HQ and pay most of your attention to the stacks of Inner Quiet you get. You turn those stacks (pref 7+) into HQ with finishing steps. So you can go from having, say, 17% HQ chance with 8 stacks of Inner Quiet (IQ from now on) and get 100%.

This is done by getting the buff up and then using the skills you have to bump the stacks up. The actual HQ bar will increase but that's secondary to this point. So, when starting a new item, you have to firstly get it so that it'll be finished within one hit. After that, you focus on the IQ stack. HT will give you 1 stack with 70% chances if SH2 is up. Basic touch costs 18 CP but it'll give you a stack if you have SH2 up. Precise touch is a skill you get at 52 or 53. It'll light up on a good or excellent. It'll give you 2 stacks. So you're goal is to get to around 7 IQ stacks (at the lowest). PT really helps things out because if you get 3 goods then you'll still have 7 stacks if all your HT failed.

When you have your stacks as high as you can, you refresh your SH1 or 2, use great strides, innovate, and BBlessing. Of these three skills, BBlessing is the most important. This translates your IQ stacks to quality. Great Strides is the second most important AND is stronger than a good so take the good into CP or just use GS instead when a good pops up.

In practice, my rotations are like this is 70/80 dura (normal stuff, the starred is a bit different): Mus Mem then Careful Synth until almost finished. Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, SH2, HT until I'm 10/70, repair, refresh SH2 as needed, HT, any goods are spent on PT if I don't need the CP. I should be 7+ near the end. I refresh SH2, use Great Strides, Inno, then BBlessing. I use GS before Inno just in case I get a good between the two. If I do, I'll finish with GS and BBLessing on a good. I finish with a careful synth.

Mus Mem is just to shorten it for me. GS has a level 52 or 53 still that basically works the same but I'm lazy with normal things.

This is my basic go to rotation. Every 18 extra cp I can replace a hasty with a Basic/Precise.

Thanks for the great information. I just need some advice on what my next move should be. Should I focus on getting everything to 50 first? Should I get Botanist and Miner to 60 first?

I leveled botanist alongside weaver (my only 2 non battle class 50s come HW). I more or less hit 60 weaver just making ramie cloth (and gathering stalks of ramie) since I couldn't afford the absurd prices for holy waters and other cross-class materials i needed

It cannot be understated how gathering with bot and miner help your cost point all the way through, also if you have lvled your retainers even the better. When HW dropped I lvled bot and miner as I lvled my blm to 60 and as I gathered I crafted and it was a win win. I was out very very very little money and was at 60 on all crafters w/in 2 weeks of HW dropping being self sufficient. Not many have the patience for this route. I would attempt to work on your rotations, look at the pre HW stuff, it will help you a ton. This woman was my queen before she left us and a fantastic mentor, I miss her and she helped me so much just with her guides and input. Quite honestly, the difficulties encountered by ToasterMan and Hanmerreborn both should suggest the general folly of trying to avoid being an omnicrafter. Level the rest of the classes up, you two!

In ARR you could, generally speaking, level up a class from 1 to 50, then another, then another. In HW the recipes are loaded with refined materials from other classes, and this suggests a different way of thinking : simultaneous, or at least equal, leveling. The under level penalty merely adds to the suggestion. It is much easier for a level 53 to make the level 53 refined material another level 53, or a 54, needs, compared to a level 51 attempting to make the same refined material.

Do I need to have HQ gear of the current level in order to have any hope of HQing stuff? What's the leveling rotation for items that are around 50-60? I just about have all of my classes at 50

Get in the mind set that normal quality gear is garbage.

I recommend level 51 crafted stuff ASAP. You can use NQ if you really want but HQ is way better.

Crafting above 50 also, to put it simply, boils down to getting progress 1 hit away from finishing, then spamming hasty touch for inner quiet stacks and then finishing with byregots at 20 durability. There's other things you can do to help, but that is the general idea you should have in mind. Hope that helps.

Thanks to all the advice here. I've gotten my weaver to 60. What should my next step with it be?

I've been introduced to specialists, is there a certain combination I should go with? I wanted to specialize in BSM WVR and LTW

I would say that is a very good choice for specialists. I wish I had done BSM over GSM. Between LTW and WVR making almost all of the main body gear and belt, and BSM making most of the main and off hands, you would certainly be able to make a majority of the gear for all of your crafting jobs.
