Doing 50 content before moving onto HW, is 115 ilvl enough?

As title says, I want to do ARR endgame stuff before moving on to HW.

I currently run a mix of 90 Job quest gear and 115 HW HQ whites. I dont have any melds, they might not be worth the investment pre-60, so how far can I get with this setup?

Edit: Apparently, my actual score is *98.

The first HW dungeon is Dusk Vigil and I think people like newbies in 115 gear, you should be able to buy NQ from the vendor maybe. Also the HQ quest rewards too.
I think you should be fine to go when you get to HW content.

If you want to do the actual old endgame stuff before HW, like Extreme primals and Coil, you will need a minimum iLv of 123. If you're just doing story, i90 is the bare minimum to tackle all the required trials and dungeons.

The DF tells you the minimum ilvl for those duties.

If you can get your hands on a crafter you'll find making these 115's is dirt cheap. Sometimes you'll find stuff on market reasonably priced as well. Get what you can, then get what you can get made made, then spend poetics on 120's to fill the rest out. You'll get 120+ in lv 51+ dungeons so don't focus on poetics where you can get cheap crafted 115's.

And keeping your weapon up to date is 10x more important than any other slot.

And you'll often find it's hard to get people wanting to do "ARR endgame" without just plowing through it unsynched.

i98 average can get rough especially if your main class listed here is what you're playing. Tanks lacking gear is much more noticeable than other roles.

Also if your doing dungeons you can always hit Mor Dhona and turn those tomes into ilv 120 gear.

Seems like I can also save up for 220 greens. I'm close to 55 right now, and its been almost tragically easy for me to level up even without stepping into HW. Getting to 60 without leaving ARR doesnt sound so far-fetched atm.

If your doing roulettes and so forth it really isn't that hard to hit 60 without entering HW.

That said, you won't have access to any of your new Job skills until you reach HW and start the new Job quests.

And if you aren't even getting HW why bother? You're limited to lv 50 in all the dungeons/raids/trials anyway. I don't get it.

Enough, but at least get the i120 Magitek weapon in Mor Dhona.

It's because my gil income is limited, gil that would be spent on level 54-ish gear could be saved to invest in 220 gear instead.

It's not like I don't plan to play HW. I just want to do 50 content at least once first before moving on. With 4.0 lurking around, this content will become less and less relevant.

Can do. Market has lv 54-56 swords but I'd probably want to blow Tomes rather than Gil. Thanks.

No need to pay gil for lv.50 to 59 gears. You'll get better things from 51 to 59 dungeons, and from quests.

first HW quests and the shops in Ishgard give you ilevel 115 gear, so that is the right ilevel to begin HW.
The lv50/ilevel 130 (after upgrading) poetry gears from Mor Dhona are good until lv 56-58.
The upgrade items for the poetry gears you get from the weekly Crystal Tower quest, from World of Darkness (CT3) and are also buyable with poetry tomes.

Also, you don't need to buy a single gear for your first job from 51-60. Every gear you get from MSQ quests and sidequests are HQ and you get enough gear rewards to be always right geared even with bad dungeon drop luck.

Mkei if you do the HW quests you will get your gear HQ for free, you will never need to buy anything while you do them for your main job so is a waste you don't start HW content, along side with the new job quests, etc.

Even dungeons will drop some gear for you with luck so go ahead and start them.

Also, if you get poetics get the 120 gear from Mor dhona so you will be 120 min.
