Could we get Faction Leves back at some point?

As excited as I was to enter Ishgard after playing both versions of the game, part of that excitement was quickly dispelled when I saw that the Temple Leves were the same thing as regular ones. Yeah they required slightly more of particular objectives to be done, but it was the same copy/paste formula that was used in the 2.0 series of leves.

In 1.0 we had Faction Leves that were slightly harder in difficulty that were used to help obtain greater rewards or for the initial version of the A Relic Reborn quest. They provided challenges outside of the norm that led to greater rewards and access to even stronger faction leves that would reward either more gil or more glamour (despite glamour prisms not being available until 2.0).

My main question is this: Could we get Faction Leves back in some form or fashion, or at least start deviating from the same predictable formula the game has utilized since its very relaunch?

I agree, and, adding onto that, I would like to see the three guildleve factions return to leves period - whatever happened to Azeyma's Shields, the Brotherhood of the Broken Blade and the Horn and Hand?

It was an interesting mechanic that provided a bit of variety to the otherwise dull leve system in 1.0. I can only assume Yoshi scrapped them though for simplicity's sake and thus they're never coming back, but I can still dream...

I feel like the beast tribe dailies were the replacement for the faction leves.

Can I stack allowances like actual leve quests then?

doing the 20 leves weekly for challenge log annoys the ehemm out of me... port to ishgard take quests -- > port to map do quests ---> port back to ishgard report quests honestly dont know why they did that... was better having them in each map = =

But not nearly as fun. I do appreciate the beast tribe stories, but you don't get much variety in the quests outside of Vanu and Gnath.

Yeah, I never understood why we had to keep reporting back to Ishgard to pick up/turn in leves.

yup its a pain in the backside lol more of a nuisance than anything.. lately if i dont really need the leves to help level other jobs i just wont do that challenge log part :P

For the love of all that is good, YES. Can we please get faction leves back? I'd love for them to be implemented as a way for FCs to get together en masse and kill big mobs.

yes and yes and yes... the faction leves will add more to do...

I kinda figured Hunts would have been ideal for "endgame" Levequests... Rather than the original three Faction Leves, why not have a Faction per zone? Do Levequests in Dravania Forelands, and you get points towards Faction Levequests there, which let you effectively spawn your own Hunt target. That would allow SE to actually balance Hunts so they're perhaps actually fun to challenge, as well as putting unique rewards on them. Plus, it would actually feel like a Hunt, the Levequest objectives could replicate hunting a target, rather than it just spawning and your servers Hunt LS calling in an orbital strike...

I've been thinking a lot about leves the last few days. I'd love to see more variety and use come back. I'd also like to see Leve NPCs added into the HW zones... It kind of sucks having to go back to Ishgard to replenish when a Leve Moogle or Leve Node would make sense in some of the higher zones.

Except that's not how hunts work, at least S ranks (which are the only hunt targets that really matter). They don't "just spawn", many of them have to be actively forced to spawn. Some can pop without anyone specifically trying to spawn them, but in general, there are dedicated people who do this & scout them, it's great fun and very rewarding to do so, and it very much "feels like a hunt". Please don't assume everyone shares your opinion on hunts not being fun, they are if you actually do them on not just wait for a LS to call them.

Am I assuming that? I just don't find "Walk around with this minion out and search the zone" to be particularly entertaining... As a server event this isn't even something everyone can do, perhaps spawning a specific S Rank is OK right now, but while you're doing that, another spawns and the hoard moves to kill that and it just ruins the event for me... I'd much rather have a Levequest replicate hunting a specific target, with the final fight being me and a few friends, rather than me and far too many people... Then I can just log on and go enjoy Hunts, rather than slogging through a cumbersome world event with a lackluster payoff as the FATE-ish nature of Hunts just makes the fight dull.

You're entitled to your opinion on Hunts of course, if you enjoy the current system then great. I'm not even asking for Hunts as they are to be removed, it shouldn't be too hard for SE to implement Levequest-based Hunts alongside the existing system. I think doing that would actually improve Hunts in general, for starters you'd have less people doing the world spawn ones (which has been the only time I've ever enjoyed Hunts) even if they attached relevant rewards to them again, but it also lets SE rework B Ranks. Someone after an instant spawn Hunt can just grab the Faction Levequest after all, they'd be no need for B Ranks to be redundant jokes in the open world anymore.

Ultimately it just comes down to giving us more options. One of my biggest gripes with the current system is the drama that ends up surrounding it... It's OK when Hunts are fairly irrelevant, but when everyone jumps on the bandwagon because SE made the rewards relevant again? You simply cannot opt to challenge the enemies solo/with a small group of friends without seemingly half the server acting like you murder babies and eat kittens... Faction Levequests allowing people to spawn their own Hunt mobs would allow us to do that... It would also give people the option of logging on and just aiming for something "fun", rather than logging on and having missed all the S Ranks...

Having already said my piece on the hw leve npc's, more varieties are the ultimate goal. Even if they decide not to bring back the original factions that fueled the Faction Leve system in 1.0, perhaps the Grand Companies could form subdivisions or the houses of Ishgard could offer them and utilize parts of the open world that have yet to see any use since Heavensward's debut.

I miss the fnms from 1.0. They were fun and also challenging some of them.
