if you open up "player search" menu and put nothing in the search box and hit search it'll bring up a whole wack load of player names and it shows if you have a FC or not and those people just go down the list inviting spamming invites to whomever .we have a FC like that on Behemoth
ahhh oke ty
It's a pretty frickin' lame way to recruit, especially when they send out several waves of invites in a short period. It's annoying and intrusive and basically all it gets you is warm bodies in the door, not people that are necessarily going to stick around your FC. I guess if that's what you're after, that's your business. There's one FC on my server that does this to newer players; they do a player search, send a tell to any new players without an FC, and then send an invite immediately after. If you turn down the invite, you will get invited again 10-15 minutes later anyway. When I was leveling my alt, they spammed me 3 separate times within a 30 minute span or so before I finally asked the player to leave me alone. They never did reply to me, but I applied to my own FC then logged to go approve it shortly after that just to make sure that the invites would stop.
i think i may know what FC you mean dolan
I don't like FC invites when they don't introduce themselves or ask me. Keep getting them, might end up just making my own so I don't get random invites
I don't get that many of FC invites personally and I've been without a FC for at least a couple of months by now: infact I only had 2 in the last week only. I assume it all depends on the server at this point, since Balmung is essentially a RP server and they don't want to fill their ranks with strangers. If your server is more PvE oriented I assume this is a normality.
Free Companies like that are not the ones to join, they are desperate for membership.
Between that and the ones that spam shout outs many times a day.
Well then you're one of the lucky ones. I found Balmung to be just like every other server when it comes to random FC invites. my alt got so many random invites all the time I had to make more alts just to make my own FC cause it was so annoying & I was sick of doing /busy.
Wish there was a function to turn FC invites off.
I so hated the FC invite spam, then freind made a FC & even thou he quit I won't leave it outa fear for more of those even if the FC only has 2 active members (That & we bought a house after he quit)
Fun Fact.
Spamming FC invites is considered harassment and can be reported as such. I personally reported at least 2 ppl from the same FC who sent me multiple invites with no /tells within minutes of each other and 1 other from a different FC who sent me 3 invites within 15 minutes a couple days later. After which I received a tell from a GM who confirmed it is harassment and said they would investigate and speak with said player.
The only thing more annoying than rmt tells is random FC invites.
I've created an alt on Ragnarok and I'm only level 18 and I've already got about 5 blind FC invites (blind as in never introduce themselves before sending the invite)
FC invite spammers are the bane of my life! So glad I'm part of an FC now, so now I don't have to worry about being spammed. One guy got so annoying, I actually whispered him and demanded he ceased inviting me, making it VERY clear that I have absolutely NO intention of joining his FC, largely based on his recruiting techniques. He sounded pretty upset.
The FC I'm in, the leader actually spent time talking with me. We found we got on well and I was glad to have the chance to ask any questions I needed etc.
My advice to people in the Novice Network that ask about these is always to ignore them, deny them.
Find someone you like and join theirs, rather than some complete stranger that either cold call invites or shouts recruitment notices.
I'm sure many of them are nice people. You may make some new friends, but the possibility of that more often than not is low. They just want members. To bolster their ranks, farm up those FC credits, or just bragging rights of having a large amount of players.
If you just want to be one of hundreds of invite fodder, go ahead. If you want a FC for raiding, or for socializing, it may not be your best bet.
Think that is how some FCs end up getting robbed, just random inviting people with no introduction and an open slot to me reads "You must be offering these goodies for free". Not that I would do that myself but my FC does it and some stay, majority just leave shortly after.
Also think it's worth noting not to fall for the "We're social and active FC looking for new and veteran players!" trap that gets advertised especially with FC's with 300+ members, 9/10 in those FC's people have found their own friends or the chat is too constant with people in their own cliques, one of the biggest FC's in Tonberry you always see x has joined the FC, x has left the FC. Small 20-50 FC's are best for new people I think better chance to get to know people and you're not just another number. That's just from my experience with FC's anyway.
We do need a no popup prompt option for trades/invites.
I've been in the same FC since the closed beta, so I've never had to deal with this. That said having delt with it on wow, It's annoying but torable.
