I understand that its a beginners gear and of course you cannot dye a lot of gears in general but I would like to dye more lower level armor. I think some are way better looking in different colors :D

The armor style is copied in some other dyable styles. Personally, I'm glad there's now an actual dark colored lowbie set instead of either a kaleidoscope of rainbow vomit or bright yellow/red/whatever. It's also distinctive the way it is now, and it speaks to the character of the novice that they actually went and did the HoN training instead of bypassing it and buying inferior equipment.
And lose another dyeable model that was previously exclusive to BRd/MCH? No thanks.
There are already the red and black variations of it, and then the BRD/ MCH-specific Saurian version which you can dye. It seems a bit superfluous to make another.
^This. Specifically, their models are all directly based on dyeable ilevel 70 and 90 PvP gear - the tank novice gear is a palette swap of the level 50 ilevel 70 Warwolf Fending set, and the healer/mage/melee novice set is a palette swap of the level 50 ilevel 90 Direwolf sets (the later which exists separate 'healing', 'casting', 'maiming' and 'striking' sets for offensive mages, light and heavy melee respectively), which is naturally based on the level 15 Acolyte's (mage) and Foestriker sets (melee) respectively. These sets all require participation in PvP to gain Wolf Marks to acquire from an npc at the Wolves' Den, and can all be dyed to whatever colour you wish.
So yeah, the Novice sets will not be made dyeable for this reason - their models already exist in dyeable versions as other gear sets (it should also go without saying too that the tank gear is also the equipment worn by Mylla, the Guildmistress of the GLA's Guild in Ul'dah, but that's another story. ;)).
I support this.
The healer set is already available in a dyeable form, I believe as the i90 Cashmere/Saurian set.
Every armor should be dyable
And what about the other people ? those who never use black or white ? personnaly I fancy rollanberry red (not sure of the colour name in english) blue and even green ^^"
Plus, who cares if they are dyable and people only dye them black or white (Ooh, ooh Yeah, yeah, yeah, now.....sorry ^^") why can't we just choose ? ^^"
Because choice is an illusion
i wouldnt mind sharing the AF1 Af2 but guess no1 wants it :P , i still think job (or even role) identity is important , i dont want to look like a BLM when im playing my NIN , nor look like a tank when playing SCH... is cool to have some gearsets that look different , but when every1 is sharing gear sets that were exclusive to some jobs ...it kinda feels like a cheapshot.
One major reason is that they want to be a bit more distinct from others. Everyone looking pretty much the same makes for a fairly boring game.
No. A "special snowflake" is someone who believes that they should be treated special because they think they are different therefore better and/or unique. Hardcore raiders complaining about upgrade tokens being available from "casual" 24 man raid content is an example of special snowflake syndrome.Quote:
I think there is an expression in english regarding this "special snowflake" is it ?
The hall of novice gear has a shelf life of about five levels. The only reason the crafted versions have a longer shelf life is because they can be dyed. Secondly and more importantly, because these items have darker color palettes they should be visibly different from the other variants. The direwolf coat of casting is visibly different from the cashmere coat of casting even when dyed. There isn't any more identity lost than me dying my lore gear white as a blackmage.
Thank you for the explanation, english is not my mother tongue so sometimes i don't understand the expressions :)
And, if we all get all the option, wouldn't be easier not to look like everyone ? therefore, being more dinstinct from others so no one needs exclusive in the end ?
So? That's their choice to make. If you prefer the original colour, you're welcome to keep it.
Personally if I get some gear item that I don't like the colour of (even if I like the shape) and I can't dye it, I'm just going to glamour over it. And then all the work the design team put into it is wasted.
I'd like to see some Heavy Armor become available for other classes than Tanks/DoW... :\
Personally, the only gear sets that should remain exclusive to their respective classes/jobs are the artifact gear(s). Anything else should be worn by either class.
Ironworks Caster hood on all the Other Ironworks equipment would be AMAZING.
