Housing wards need more activities!

I know my English is bad, but I hope you will get my point here.

I am sure you cannot force people to hang out in residential area but at least make it look more active, show some NPCs. For example:

Mist has a beach, it's mostly empty, why can't have NPC running and playing in the sand and have different activities during the night time like fire and some npc around it or even see some ship visiting with lights on

For Goblet maybe some fisher men or npc fixing the big fan or even the GC army hang around or come as team to check things or maybe have minions for houses that is a lil large and only stay in houses and play

It would be fun to have the area active, most people dont hang around because it's mostly boring to stay there.

This is why I wanted instanced housing copying the brilliance of Rift dimensions, with the ability to create our own zones/creations instead of the copy paste we have now.

A far more in depth and creative housing design would trump and empty neighbourhoods any day. They sacrificed player creativity for...the ward system.

I can understand your suggestion and there is nothing wrong with it, ppl should always suggest anything they think will improve the game!!

But personally I think we have a very poor housing design overall, and keeping the uncreative wards, it will never improve for me at least. A few npcs or players standing along the beach is not gonna make it enjoyable to be there, however actually creating from scratch anything we could imagine?...would have been

I personally actually quite like it with the wards like it is. There's usually a small group of my friends/neighbours at the shared market board and it's just a nice friendly hang out place :D I guess it depends on how busy the neighbourhood you live in is though...

It'd be nice but I don't see it happening. Whenever they add quirky stuff it typically ends up being implemented through The Gold Saucer. Plus a lot of people are currently excluded from the opportunity to own a house - which would result in a lot of negative feedback if it seemed more mandatory than it already arguably is.

It's a shame, though - even on a bustling server like Balmung the housing ward I live in is very quiet. Surprising given that it's Mist too.

I have access to three friends houses in different nations and I own two houses one in Goblet (The Brimming Heart) Medium house in awesome location by the water fall and the other is literally a beach house (Small) in Mist I bought it for my real life partner. All of these area are empty in my server, no life around .

I use my mount to run around everyday, nothing going on, your server might have people hanging around but mine is not. 30% of the houses that I enter has none decorations at all. Most of the wards are ghost town, imagine when they add more wards. Most of the people who buy houses, never show up. I spoke to the house owner near by my house asking her if she is willing to sell it because she is never there, she said she only hang out at FC house and she will keep her house.

I have spoken to people who say my house is too large for me I dont need it, I want to sell it and use FC's one and there are those who say my house is way too small, I will sell it and get a large one, I dont think the problem with houses size, it just nothing there to keep people wanting their houses. I am sure I will end up getting my 80% money back and just hang out in Idyllshire, like everyone else.

There are so many ideas. Mostly can be funny and creative, like a Chocobo run away from NPC's stable, you could see the npc running after him around people''s houses or later you can try to help locate where the chocobo was hiding for a small reward. Then next week has something else happening...etc

I assure you the new wards that SE will create will become a ghost town eventually just like the current one.

Depending on your neighborhood, the areas around marketboards and summoning bells can be okay. I know at both my house, and my FC house, there are always people hanging out in those areas. The real problem is "public" areas, like The Endless Draught in Goblet, or Yainu-Par in Lavender Beds. The fact that these areas are dead and lifeless always depresses me when I go by them. It would be nice if we could get some untargatable NPCs (like the kind found in Mor Dhona or Idyllshire) walking through the residential wards, it would go a long way to making them feel more like a full town, instead of just a collection of empty houses.

It's quiet and empty every single day in most of the wards, I have access to 3 private houses and one FC in different locations, nothing there, it's depressing, rarely see people around, No actions at all. Why there is no strong weather in the residential area , why we cannot hear thunder or see lighting from the inside of our houses.

You can only see snow falling the days before Christmas and that's pretty much it.

Anyway, I started to do just like other house owners, hanging out more in the cities specially in Limisa or Idyllshire because I have no reason to be alone all the time.

To be honest, this is why private housing should be abolished and only be available to FC owners with a benchmark activity such as 10-20 people online regularly.

There is so many players with private FCs & private housing leaving the wards abandoned and boring in the first place.

Ward 1 plots are most valuable to me because on my server they're the ones with active FCs in them whilst the others are desolate and empty.

I agree there should be more of an award for being in the housing zones in general. Maybe put a collectible vendor or something in the zone. I know a lot of people that craft in the house. This would give them a reason to leave house and turn in, instead of TP straight from inside house to MD or Iddy.

I was thinking up a system that players can use to "improve" their wards. Introduce W.A.T.E (Ward Active Time Events) that requires to do chores, quest, and such to earn ward points. Players then use those points to invest in ward improvement categories; Playground, Chocobo Ranch, Farming, Charter Vessels, *more to come*.

Playground is basically an event area with interact stuff like slides, swings, merry go round, blah blah blah.
Chocobo Ranch is a place where players can rent a space to raise their birds instead of using chocobo stables.
Farming is a place where players can rent 3 slot gardening lots.
Charter Vessels is basically this - FFXI Manaclipper
