PARTY BONUS (DOH/DOL)

So with the new mentoring system out for people who have mastered crafting/gathering and the rise in Diadem gathering parties, anyone think we should have a small bonus as a light/full party of crafters or gatherers with their own party bonus? It could help to mentor someone with a small boost to GP/CP or control/perception etc. Nothing major but would encourage people to party up for things like airship building, fc events, or even tutoring/mentoring new players coming into the world of crafting/gathering. What do you guys think?
Example would be like Miner could give a small percent in perception while fishers give a small increase in GP, etc. On the crafter end maybe 2 or so could give a small increase of control, craftsmanship or CP just like a full/light party of battle classes do currently.

If they added something like this, I wouldn't trust them to not make it a requirement instead of a bonus, so I'm leaning towards no.

Thanks for the wonderful idea! This would definitely enhance the experience and make crafting even more enjoyable. While we can't make any promises that a feature like this can be implemented, we have shared the suggestion with the dev. team member in charge! :D

Dont' get me wrong, any addition for me is a good thing but please take all the suggestion in consideration T.T
Anyway if what Momi telled won't happen, I'm up to it.

Atleast it could be a under level 60 buff, so it will really sound like a mentoring AND, amybe a way to see the player crafter UI.

As long as it's a bonus and future recipes/ items are not designed with the idea that you will definitely have this bonus running, then sure. I've always thought of crafting and gathering as sort of solo gameplay, but I could see making it more of a team activity (optionally).

We already have bonuses from FC, which are very nice, but the dev team has thus far not designed content that required that they be up so I can imagine that they could do the same with this, though at some point if there are enough optional bonuses floating around that you could have you eventually have to take them into consideration, otherwise players will be able to craft/ gather items with much lower stats than designed. I don't think we'd be anywhere near that territory yet, though.

Also, Luxpheras's reply doesn't mention gatherers at all, just crafting, which makes me think that if they do implement something like this, gatherers are going to get nothing. :-B

I don't even get why you replied to this. The only response before yours was a negative reaction, which has more likes even.
We can't trust that group content for crafting/gathering will ever be good or fun, so far every update for DoL/DoH has been crippling.
Airship content was a dud, a bunch of effort most often done by 1 or 2 people but required an arbitrary Light Party to get any actual progress done, even though most of that party had nothing to do with the work effort.
Don't get me started on specialist recipes...all that did was make every good crafter utilize alt characters to get the work done.

Not really a party bonus thing, but I just want to be able to limit break in a party of fishers.

If crafters had one, it'd be like a liquor break, where you could pretend you're Gerolt.
Maybe restore a little CP or give Quality a nudge. You could use it to try and salvage those times where Hasty Touch decides it wants to fail 5+ times.

I'd rather not see stat buffs from partying. Make them too small, then they're trivial and no one would bother partying anyway. Make them too big, then players would see them as a requirement, then it becomes so commonplace that devs have to make it a requirement so as to keep content "challenging."
The idea of giving smaller crafters a helping hand is interesting, but I feel like that's what the gear buyable from scrips is for.

I'm not too keen on the idea that I have to find a group of crafters to get ANY kind of bonus. Crafting is very much a solo activity. It's something you can do at any time, without having to build a party, and makes a nice filler when you're not doing stuff with other people.

On the other hand, some kind of crafting mentor system might be worthwhile - a way you could party with a novice crafter, and have them see exactly what you're doing while you're crafting, or perhaps provide visual hints to tutor them. For example: Novice starts a recipe. Mentor posts the move they'd do, and novice does the same. If they chose the same move, the move happens. If not, the novice gets to choose which of the two they'd like to use, and can use the opportunity to ask the mentor why they chose a different move.

I don't think a stat bonus, even a small one, would benefit a novice crafter, though. It could well become a crutch for them...

As Momomi said, it would become a requirement for sure otherwise it would be "pointless" to party. ^^;

I think this is a great idea, if properly implemented. Can we also get proper spinning GCDs on our gathering skills? I think it's a bit awkward at the moment since you don't quite know when you'll be able to click things again since everything just greys out while the animation is going off.

are FC-buffs for crafting /gathering a requirement? i don't think so :x

all i can remember they actually were a requirement was for the fisher quest with the nepto dragon in 2.4, when you didn't have the i80 fishing rod.

probably they are pointless for top-tier crafters/gatherers, but a nice bonus for casual players who don't have pentamelded stuff. they could be used if you only have the i200 set and not the pentamelded i190 set.

i think party buffs can have it's uses without being a requirement.

If we get this, it either goes to every party member regardless of size or if you put it on the mentor system, only the novices should get the bonus, otherwise level 60 players will just exploit it for their own needs...
