Au'ra Horns Not Being Locked To A Face

I hate how my favorite face, is the one with my least favorite horns. Please SE, inprove your character customization. It is so last gen.

i agree, i wish i could have selected different horns for the face i selected.. i could have made my character look so much cooler

I agree as well, I wish the horns could be moved to either your head, or your face, or removed completely. That would be a nice change of pace.:D

All races suffer from this restriction on character customization.

That said, I would like them to make all features no longer locked to specific faces, on all races.

Well, ideally they'll be avoiding adding a new race in 4.0 and will instead be increasing the amount of customisation options for all of the existing playable races instead. It's sorely needed - Highlander men, for instance, need real eyebrows and more classically handsome/younger looking facial features as potential options.

Au Ra not being able to customise their horns, however, is likely a consequence of their base design changing significantly during the development process.

That would be nice. My favourite Miqo'te face has the stupid facial markings attached and I can't remove them. Would be nice if they were optional. >_>

I have the same problem. My fav Au Ra face has the huge crab claw horns that clip a bunch of hairstyles, and I hate that I can't take markings off Miqo'te faces.

Also, giving both races a bunch of new ear/horn, and tail options would please so many players! As much as I've asked for Viera, I would love it if current races got an expansion.



That said, we actually asked about Au Ra horns way back during 3.0's release, and the reasoning is PS3 limitations!

There definitely needs to be an overhaul to the CC. I was able to pretty much make the catboy I wanted to make but little details being added would be nice, like being able to select and place scars and tattoos wherever (a la ArcheAge), different body types rather than just a height slider, universal hairstyles, a more in-depth facial customization menu.

And of course, unlocked horns for our Au Ra friends.

Character creation is one of the big things I'd love to see SE delegate QoL resources towards. The options are so limited by comparison to modern counterparts. We basically have the same system as WoW (preset combinations of faces + features and such) with an added height slider and a few accessorizing options.

I had really been hoping for a system that was as intricate as something like Aion and was terribly disappointed at launch when it was so rudimentary/archaic in nature. A few years in and well into the wind down phase of the first expansion I would hope this is maybe something they have on the slate for 4.0 or somewhere in the 4.x life cycle.

Seriously this character creation is really lame. Of course, the visuals are gorgeous as with most everything in this game, but that doesn't make up for the utter lack of ability to make a character actually look how you would like. So many assets/features locked to others for no good reason other than it is simpler and requires less resources at the time when the main focus was rebuilding the core of the game. It's silly but an update to this part of the game would vastly improve the experience by simply letting people make the character look the way they want. I know I've had to settle one way or another with pretty much every character I've created on my accounts.

If I recall we had a thread like this during the HW Character creation build which was several hundred posts long if I remember. It was locked in the end with the statement that they are not planning on changing the options for horns, atleast for the time being.

Ah, yes. That's the thread I was talking about.

Let's just change this thread to "moar customization in CC please," with a side of "no new race either"
