New Fishing Content Please?

I love fishing. Or rather, I loved fishing how it was in 2.3~, collecting all the big fish, working towards completing Feast of Famine, and all the desynthesis associated stuff. Fishing content in 3.0 has been lacklustre so far, but as 3.3 is the next major patch bringing with it new ilvls for DoL, I'm wondering can we expect some new fishing content akin to what we've had in the past -- challenging big fish with horrible windows and spawn conditions and a daunting quest!?

Agree. Fishing is what i do outside of raiding/roulettes. I loved trying to get the rare fish to desynth i to something even rarer.

I love to get big fish for new swimwear would be nice. I still make decent Gil off of the old ones still though.

Agreed, one of the most enjoyable things I did in 2.x was catch all the green fishes for achievements and quests.

I remember a long time ago back in like the 2.1 days or something, there was a post by a dev here on the forums about what to expect for the future for housing, in like a short list form of 3-4 items. Aquariums were on his list, and then they edited it out and the next day it wasn't on the list anymore. I wonder what was up with that.

This is coming from someone that doesn't fish. How about a bounty system? You turn in the legendary fish for points, to move you up in a leader board, which can be seen in game. The more time that passes between the next legendary fish turned in of a particular type, the higher the bounty will rise.

A bounty system would be cool. I know the fishing website http://ff14angler.com/record already skims text data for people's record fishes. The game can do something similar.

They should extend it to gardening too. like whoever grows the biggest carrot or something, and we'll have like a monthly fair where people show up with carrots the size of Lalas. If they can make it complex enough, they can add stuff like the chocobo breeding genetics into the seeds, although that might be getting a bit too in depth.
