Something that's been bothering me about Aetherochemical Facility

Ever since I beaten the last boss in this dungeon, there has been a nagging sensation in me. While we fought the two Ascians, the room appeared to be organic, it was moving. It appeared to be organic, that part of the dungeon. This dark, muscle looking organic mass that was on the outside of the arena, constantly moving, and stops once they fuse, and become dead. Yet, nothing's spoken about this. I don't think the people here even talked about it (or what I have seen)

I waited till 3.2 for an answer, but it appears it has gone unanswered. What is up with that room? I'm talking about this room in particular (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Q9ITjplFUDw/hqdefault.jpg)

Why hasn't this been talked about? Why is that organic looking substance moving? What's the reasoning behind this? Is something chained up, or is the island alive? Can anyone tell me what's up with this?

The artbook sheds a bit of light on this. The organic matter actually stems from the Triad Core, which is the entire reason you, Lahayorhm, and Thordan are there.

Based upon what Unukalhai says, the chains that bind the Triad are what keep their bodies perpetually regenerated. I wouldn't be surprised is the fleshy material is a result, either from Sephirot's ability to regenerate/grow (after all, there are roots around Azys Lla), or one of the others' abilities that hasn't been told to us in a XIV context, yet. I'd put my bet on Goddess.

Alternatively, it could just be a buildup of whatever they're using to "regenerate" their flesh.

What's the name of that area? Neurolink Nacelle.

With that in mind, I suspect the matter might be... Large scale Neurolink... Fuel? IDK... Something along those lines... I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Neurolinks work based on some bioengineered super creature that exerts its will (and thus the will of Allag) upon Primals... Granted, Twintania had a Neurolink as well, but the main ones we saw were the ones controlling Bahamut (all those rings, based on the Sightseeing Log), so it would seem that was their primary purpose; Control a Primal to have them churn out whatever power the Allag wanted to harness. Neurolink Nacelle is located at Triad Control...

If you look at the cutscene during the ascian fusion, there's glowy particles going from the fleshy stuff to the ascians. Whatever the ascians absorbed from it probably killed it.

It dying was probably why the seal on the triad weakened.

The fleshy bits are most likely the residual effects from the Demon. If you look around, all 3 of the Triad are represented in some form during the dungeon. Large roots everywhere, fleshy growths, and glowing crystalline shards. It's easy to see these as the effects of the Fiend, Demon, and Goddess.

Alternatively it could just be tumor-like growths since the Allagans made all kinds of chimerical abominations.

I'm more disturbed by the goopy eye ball blob mobs that ask for someone to help them when they die...

I've actually got this twice in the last week for roulette. I was looking around and wondering if there was a place you could see sephirots containment chamber anywhere, couldn't see it myself though. Anyon spot it in there? Beautiful dungeon though, shame it was overlooked for so long.

I get the impression that the late Allagan engineers were often throwing science to the wall and seeing what sticks (or screams in pain).

Organic matter goes in, chimeric weaponized creature comes out...they hoped.

The goop is from when that didn't work.

Though alternatively...perhaps it's a set of three organic things? Roots for the Fiend, fleshy growths for the Demon...and something I've managed to not notice until tonight when I got it as part of my roulettes...that entire area with all the roots is also filled with water.

Of course, it's easily just as possible that the water was there by design of the Allagans (giant water-cooled chimeric producing computers, anyone?). I didn't notice anything to suggest the source of so much water being the Goddess or the Allagans...

But I did notice that there are several places where the roots have broken bits of the Allagan tech (which was either due to their research, since they did experiment with growth, or from the roots doing their own thing).
