Can you please stop putting CUL mats on blue scrips?

It's hard enough being a 3 star CUL what with having to do 5 minute crafts just to have it yield 1 food item, but we also have to make 2 to 3 collectables each time to get the materials. Why? No other craft has to do this.

I'd even take putting golden apples and such for sale for 5 or 10 esos over this. On top of only 2 or 3 of the 3 star food even being worth anything it really makes me start to regret going through all the work to get CUL gear. :(

I've noticed that many blue scrip collectables also require blue scrip materials - so much for "no need to omnicraft"! It's not as if they're level 60** recipes either, things like bouillon cubes come in to play at round level 56!

You can use one class to get all your scripts :P (although cul typically takes the longest to get a high number of scripts, cul is still the most gil efficient script/gil ratio, ex: marron...[something i forget the name but its 3 mats])

actually its a good thing that they made some of the items use blue scripts; b/c b4 3.2; you only used blue scripts to get your master recipe books and.....yea.....master recipe books ( ok ok, if yo really wanted to make max piety food and max acc food...but that was rare).

Now they are making blue scripts relevant @ 60 :)

There have always been things to buy.

The biggest problem here is that culinarian is easily the most likely craft to be needed by raiders and general battle classes, so why did they put the materials somewhere that people who don't craft can't access? Not to mention, as I stated, it's a lot of extra work that only CUL has to deal with. If every craft had to deal with this BS, I wouldn't be as upset about it.

It's dumb to me.

"No other craft has to do this." Incorrect again. Alchemist as well, for max-pots.

You can reach the 2000 blue scrips caps (that will make about 150 recipe materials) in less than half an hour if you pick the right ones.
Clearly no problem with these materials, if you - at least- put a little effort into it.

The point in crafting 3-star food is to help provide raiders a fairly good extra-stats. 95% of the BiS food for raiders stands within the 1-star recipes and below anyway.

wait..............what recipe yields 3??? they didnt patch that yet??? am I missing something? (they said that would be coming down the line...however when it does come it will alleviate the stress of 5min for 1 yield (worst on alc...5min for a 20 sec buff..gg) )

I'm fairly certain they still yield one, for alchemist and culinarian. It also takes a recipe that gives like 100 blue scrips to cap at 2000 in 30 minutes, AND buying all the mats to do it in that half hour. Culinarian is never close to 100 blue scrips, but weaver is sometimes.

Also it's not exactly fair to have to make full collectible items just to get a couple materials for a 30 minute buff...

I haven't timed myself but crafting marron glaze puts me very high up there for blue scrips. It's not available everyday and I do try to craft it when it's on a bonus but they're very easy, very fast to craft with three ingredients. The only special things you have to buy outright is the cooking sherry but those are really cheap. If you do favor gathering for astral lumber then you can pile up the birch sap. After that, all you need is those chestnuts.

If you need to hand in something requiring bouillon cubes as your first blue scrip craft you're not going to have much luck though! That's what I was getting at. I believe the first CUL blue scrip collectable is Emerald Soup at lvl56, so you are required to obtain blue scrips to buy the mats to allow you to craft your first blue scrip hand in. The only other way is to level past your first blue scrip collectable to the next, craft that & get scrips to allow you to make the lower level blue scrip hand in. It's ludicrous.

Another problem with this I forgot to mention.

Literally none of the 3 star foods are selling on my server, due to them not being worth it. Spiced Cider goes for 40k a pop, while golden apples go for 50k due to being blue scrip hand ins. This is terribly unbalanced, we haven't had a Spiced Cider sell on my server since 3/21, and that's by far the most useful food in the master book!

Maybe if they yielded 3 a synth like the 2.0 4 star crafts it would be okay, but currently this is horrible for anyone who took the time to gear a CUL.

There's a problem here. Fix it SE please.

A dev post already addressed the concerns over ALC and CUL yields for the starred difficulty crafts. I'd expect to see Drac potions, Max potions, and 1* and above foods being increased to yield 3 per craft in 3.3. It's just mind boggling that it's taken them so god damned long to do this since the 2.X series food and potions were 3 yield by default.

Well for someone only levelling CUL all scripts blue and red are more painful to do.

Each CUL craft yield one item only, but require usually twice the mats or intermediate crafts than other classes. When you add blue script mats to the equation it's not so fun.
CUL crafts reward you half or a third of blue/red scripts compared to other crafting classes.

Doing your weekly red scripts takes then at least 2 to 3 times the time as CUL.
And it's the only class which requires blue script mats to do some of the blue scripts collectibles.

So what, culinarians are the forsaken craft class ?
The class-who-must-not-be-used ?
Why should it be more painful to be culinarian only ?
I though Heavensward was about specialisation !

Just do a temple leve and get like 60 cubes in one go, problem solved.

That leve is 6 turn-ins. Quick synth 12 sammiches without any real significant ingredients, and bam.

Depends on your luck on leves rewards I suppose ^^
Just saying culinarian shouldn't have to do this, other classes don't.

Leveling cul post 50+ is easy! It's easy, easy, easy, easy! It was, far and way, the easiest one to level. I put it off for last and was utterly surprised at how easy it was. I'm so not kidding. 1 to 50 was so hard. I hated it with an unholy passion and saw the blue scrip thing too, thinking it was unfair too. Then ... then I stumbled on the path to glory ... or, rather, lvl 60 anyway.

What you need to do is quite simple. Save up a ton of leves, forgo leveling with the blue scrips, and make two recipes. Make the ishgardian muffins for the leve that opens when you're level 52 and keep doing that turn in leve until you hit, oh, level 58 or so when you have access to the birch syrup leve and do those. The muffins only have 3 ingredients and are super quick to make (two that are low level.) Birch syrup only has one simple ingredient (the sap.) You can literally just get a ton of sap and go afk before mass turn-ins FTW.

There's your problem. Do yourself a favor and level the others up too. It is the same mini game - add Progress until you are one away from finishing, then add as much Quality as possible, then finish. This has several benefits : you can craft anything they want for scrip, you can craft your own gear rather than buying finished pieces (it's often cheaper), and you will have access to the cross class skills.

I've never seen bouillon cubes as a level reward. I've never seen goblin jigs either, even though they're reported as being possible. I rarely get anything other than crystals or a cack mat drop that will never be used.

I completely agree with you, however, SE said that once Heavensward was introduced it would be unnecessary to level up other classes. That's why so many people are only now discovering that having all crafts to 60 is the way to go due to dependencies.

I concur its retarded. Scripts should never be part of food requirements. They should be reserved for recipe books, core equipement, etc. You SHOULD NEVER have to do the following just to get a part: gathering things, craft script item, hand in item for points, purchase ingredient > finally make final item.

That is an absolutely idiotic tedious process. Hats off to anyone doing it.

Look at the history involved here. They said that you would be able to craft without leveling the other classes up, and gave the Specialist System, and its actions, as the means by which to do so.

The same Specialist System that was so universally rejected that with 3.1 they introduced Specialist-Only recipes in order to try to justify its existence. People really (and, in my opinion, inexplicably) love the additional restriction on what you can and cannot craft, though the Specialist-Only recipe restriction does nothing at all to address the stated purpose of the Specialist System.

The only realistic way that the Specialist System can truly allow a Mono-Crafter to compete with an Omni-Crafter would be for them to scrap the Specialist moves, and instead provide all 21 of the other 7 classes' 15, 37, and 50 cross class moves. Until they implement such a thing (which I doubt they will ever do), the Mono-Crafter needs to have significantly inflated stats compared to the Omni-Crafter in order to get somewhat close to what the Omni-Crafter can do, using the Specialist moves rather than the cross class moves.

That's why I agreed with you! They said it would be possible but in reality it was something that they didn't achieve, but still hinted they had, via the Specialist system. I'm 57+ on all my crafts but haven't used a single Soul of the Crafter Stone because it's pretty much pointless unless there's one specific craft job that you *need* to have access to the Specialist recipes for. We all assume now, due to precedent, that this patch's locked recipes could be unlocked in the next patch so it's not essential to Specialise just yet for many.

I've always recommended to people learning to craft that 8@50/60 is the way to go (depending on if they are playing ARR or HW) because the cross-craft skills are just too valuable.

We're definitely singing the same song on this one & I definitely recognise your utter brilliance in the crafting community (that's *not* sarcasm BTW!).

It's definitely worth it to specialize with how good the 3 star crafts are >.> except for CUL clearly, hence the topic...and specialist actions are okay for everyone, not just single crafters.
