I'm just starting down the path of white mage and I'm wondering how important is it to cross class eye for an eye. My arcanist is only 15 will I be broke at end game without eye for an eye? Thx in advance for any feedback

I don't know if you'll be broken, but it is good and it really won't take you that long to get it.
I wouldnt say you need it right away, but you can just roulette once a day with ACN and get to to the proper level while you lvl WHM.
As an end game healer, eye for an eye is amazing. But what you will really want to get is swift cast, which is unlocked at level 26 Thaumaturge. Without it, life as a healer can be much harder.
I mainly tank here xD lvling cnj to get stoneskin... might as well get it to 60 and be done with it xD but first need to get Surecast, Swiftcase, Eye for an Eye first before getting to 50 xD
Yeah I knew I needed black to 26 that's what I'm working at currently just didn't know about eye for an eye I have a friend that mains paladin at 60 and he said he rarely sees eye for an eye now days.
It might be because AST can't cross class Eye for an Eye so if your PLD runs with a lot of ASTs, the job literally can't use Eye for an Eye xD
It's a good ability overall. It's "free mitigation" that works exceptionally well once you learn to prime it ahead of whatever big damage you're trying to mitigate. It's 10% damage reduced for at least 20s at no cost to the WHM every 3 minutes. For a kit that's mostly about raw power, it's a nice supplement to it.
Ok thx for the replies looks like I have more grinding to do.
You can comfortably get through all NM/HM content without ACN crossclass skills. The only problem is that you get comfortable playing that way and might even continue to procrastinate only to find yourself thrown into the sort of content where you're gimping your party by not having it.
You're perfectly fine if you put it off but it's better to have it, so don't procrastinate too much
With three CC slots available at your level, you have too weigh the CC skills. Virus is the most helpful from acn until eye4eye becomes available. Otherwise I found swiftcast and blizz 2 to be the next best to slot. If you don't have swiftcast, surecast can be used, but falls way short. I currently have 1. Virus 2. Swiftcast 3. eye4eye. Even though I just got eye4eye, in the little time I've had it, I am glad I didn't wait until later to acquire it, and I am more comfortable healing having it in my tool kit. Though in these early levels, it is probably not as essential as later in the game.
As an AST, Eye for Eye is the only CC ability I'm envious of.
You can keep Virus, I've got Disable already, which doesn't have that sucky Antibody.
Well, as a WHM, I have to tell I love E4aE. But WHM can't use it as often because the CD is longer than the ACN version, and some WHM doesn't use it because they aren't used to. When I started playing AST I really realized how much I miss E4aE, but I adapted anyway...
Eye for an eye is a must have, along with Swiftcast. Even with the longer cd it's invaluable.
I'm generally not a fan of it, but it's free, and Whm has so few DECENT CC skills anyway
It only procs off physical damage and fairly low RNG to proc to begin with, but if it's free, you can't REALLY complain, especially looking at the alternatives (Nothing)
In fact it's not that low.
Since it can trigger on all auto attack and physical skill.
The only mistake people do is casting it for a physical tank buster...
When it should be cast long before that and still be up for that big hit.
Because the longer it is up and the more the target is hit the higher the chance is to reduce damage.
It's not an oh shit shield more a preventive spell.
And it should be used as often as possible because it's great ! X3
And also yeah... It's a free skill to add !
I don't see the ability as a big deal even in 8 man groups (as long as you have a scholar, anyway).
It's nice but not a dealbreaker from my experience.
E4E is an absolutely amazing skill and if you're not a fan of it yet, you should become one quickly. Good E4E upkeep in raids is really noticeable, and super useful during large pulls in dungeons. Virus is, even without the Supervirus trait, still a very good ability, too. It just sort of gotten the short end of the stick in the last raid tier because most of the important mechanics you could Virus were magical. Let's not even get started with Swiftcast, because that's arguably the best CC skill in the game (tied with Invigorate). The rest of our choices are, admittedly, lackluster or extremely situational (Blizzard II, Surecast) to outright useless (lol Ruin and Physick).
