What Was Your Favorite Part Of Hatching Tide 2016?

What was your favorite part of this year's Hatching Tide event?

• The quest (complete with bonus scene)?
• The repeatable mini-games and FATEs?
• The Pa-Paya orchestrion roll?
• The goodies (barding, spriggan cap, dust-bunny minion, Archon Egg Tower)?
• The 'eggcellent' puns? (I don't know about other servers, but at times on Balmung, it was hilarious!)

For me, it was everything. As a legacy player, I've participated in almost every seasonal event this game has had to offer, and I have to say I feel that this one was one of the best designed in regards to fun factor. The mini games were brief but more involved than just a couple clicks and done. The event FATE actually spawned in town AND in three different places, so you didn't have to go outside and camp it and it was up quite often. The orchestrion roll is a tune that's silly and catchy. People who were never lucky enough to get a spriggan cap from a map could obtain one, and new players who aren't able to buy a dust bunny minion with tomes could get one too. I wasn't prepared for the Archon Egg Tower to be as big as a Starlight Tree, wow! Plus, the quest was just full of good feels.

Watching people desperately trying to chase the egg and lamenting the fact that I will soon be one of those poor souls...then stepping out of the amphitheater, watching the egg literally stop right in front of me, turning around, and turning the quest in.

Definitely watching people chase the egg.

Finishing it and not having to do it anymore.

Oh cool, I didn't realize that scene at the end was a bonus contingent on if you did the quests in tailfeather. I kind of felt bad for that NPC so it's good to see what he was doing lately.

It's just some extra text and a familar NPC face (Like he is the only NPC literally with that "face" that I know lol... "baby faced" I guess). If people missed those quests they can go find that guy in tailfeather to do them, but requires MSQ done up to that point I believe.

I enjoyed this event. It was pretty amusing to do and watch others do it as well.

To be honest I don't really enjoy any of the events, I do them just for the cosmetics/achievement. My favourite was Lightning event because you actually had to quest...I suppose the most fun thing this event was seeing the huge egg roll around.

Yea, the giasnt rolling egg was kinda cute. But man, wehn I did the quests...

1) Memorization game was boring. You went from eye-roll easy to "Let's just move the screens closer together and give each thing a second as it passes", quick and easy but pretty dull.
2) Egg traveling. It seemed like a watered down version of the Gold Saucer GATE. Which I still enjoy doing.
3) Egg Chasing. Literally just use the aethernet shard to get ahead of the egg and wait. Only thing I disliked is it sometimes stopped for only 8 seconds, and so even if you were there when it arrived, you wouldn't get credit for it.
4) FATE's - Only a minute long, so if you're not there when the FATE pops, you're banking on other people finishing it for you. Worked out with high congestion but the fallacy really showed itself towards the end.

Using aetherytes to catch the egg while a big train of people is helplessly trying to outrun it. Also Pa-Paya! ♫ ♪

The pointless running after the stupid egg that rarely stopped for even the 10s required to cast the item on it. Even if it stops at your feet it can be for less than 10s. Oh, & the spriggan counting where the colours were so close as to make it difficult to tell the difference. Joy. >.>

Not paying any attention to seasonal events, tabbing out of the game in the middle of Gridania and hear a weird noise, tab back in, and there's a giant egg rolling by and I have no idea what is going on.

If you want to win the cosplay contest at fan fest this year. Do a Benedict egg cosplay. Just saying.

Trying Benediction on the egg

I think I may have loved everything about it. Especially chasing the benediction egg with a spriggan cap while humming along to Pa-paya!

I come from another game(which I shall not name) and the holidays there were so stale.

I had a complete blast during the Hatching Tide and look forward to celebrating the next holiday with ya'll!

I want a mini version of that egg as a minion next year. Complete with the goofy sound effect only in a higher pitch to match the smaller size.

Is there any way at all to hand in the quest now the event is over? I've literally done everything I just need to hand it in for the barding.

Loved the barding, and the possibility to get that spriggan hat :)
In general the overall event was nice, I liked that we had several quests and/or FATE to get the eggs to trade for rewards, variety is great ^^

Long answer:
Event quests cannot be completed after the run date. It says so on the event pages, and I think in the quest log.

I found the easy way to do the Egg rolling quest. You put the special powder on the controller bar & select the egg before it passes by. I spent a good hour in Gridania this afternoon explaining the various games & methods to people, it was quite fun.

The sound the benediction egg makes as it rolls along made me laugh every time :P

Making cash selling the spriggan hats. Still got 2 more ready to sell as well, other than that I did enjoy the music. Heard it was the same music last year as well but I had taken a break at the time.

I used a camera and filmed the memorization event. Made it easy.
Given the nature of recent seasonal events, this one was quite well done.
1.0 had some crazy events.
