If the XIV Forums are Going to Function Like the XI Forums...

Then I'm pretty sure the ones who are planning on bailing out on XIV once the fees are implemented are making their last-ditch effort to leave their mark on the early years of XIV. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a massive influx of trolling posts and spamming voting threads just so that people can get "Likes" on their posts. I've already made a thread for a possible feature that can be incorporated into the future XIV, and as for this one...Well, I suppose I'm just stating an observation.

In any case, in regards to the forums I wouldn't mind if they could actually incorporate a poll feature when making a new thread. I don't know why it wasn't incorporated in the first place, it'd be much more organized instead of the "Like this if you (A)" or "Like this if you (B)", etc. The results of the polls on other forums on the web even have a tendency to be carried over onto other pages of the thread as well, I think.

I'm not about to get suckered into the trend of forcing other people to like my posts, so just give your two cents.

Likes are stupid anyway. How many gold medals one has or doesn't have by their name does not suddenly make their opinions good ones, nor does it make anyone more intelligent. I say who cares on the likes.

However, we do need a real poll system in place.

God, I'm not sure BS polls should actually be -encouraged by the system design-.

That said, it'd probably be a useful feature once the trolls have escaped into the forest of unsubscription, whereupon they frolic and play in sunbeams and splashing rivers and people who actually give two poops and are paying customers are the only ones who can actually post. >_>
