I was playing around with the crafting simulator today, and I couldn't find a way to macro lv 58/59 items reliably with food when limited to 15 lines. Best I could do was find a ~7k quality 16-step rotation where I press the last careful synthesis II by hand. Sure I could split it up into two separate macros, but what's the fun in that? I've tried a couple different approaches towards durability restoration (even none at all) and all the different progress finishers, but they seem to fall short.
Is this an impossible goal, or do I just need to wait until the next tier of crafting gear is released?

If you have really high Craftsmanship you might be able to finish with a Standard Synthesis instead of CSII. At 874 craftsmanship my CS2 does 357/431 on Adam Nuggets so you're probably gonna need around 900ish craft. You'd need to fit in 15 CP but this would likely cut down on your quality. That aside, I do what you do and manually hit a second CS2 for this stuff. It's annoying but gets the job done.
EDIT: Actually, after mathing it out, you're gonna need about 1055 craftsmanship... yeah. Not yet unless you include ING2. -

This requires max CP but no food. You can change the first Standard Touch to a Basic Touch (407 total CP cost) with minimal loss of quality. According to the simulator, this version gives you a full quality bar at 837 control. -

It requires 850 base craftsmanship and HQ Emerald Soup, and it should work for anything short of one-star recipes. The sixth touch has a 10% chance to fail, but the simulated results are pretty impressive:
As with any ST/AT rotation, you can downgrade a touch or two without a huge loss of quality. For comparison, SHII>BT>BT>BT>AT>AT>AT comes out to around 300 less quality and saves a whopping 39 CP.
This is probably going to be my new collectable macro once I get enough craftsmanship... only seven classes left to go! -

I've given up on single macros due to using Precise Touch / Other Touch variables. It's just too powerful to get those extra stacks of Intuition. I really hope they increase the number of lines in a macro!
Some of the ones above look very useful for end game though when you know you don't need the extra stacks. -

So you can swap out some skills: for example drop those last 3 wind for CS2's, that 18 cp right there and 60% potency gainedQuote:

I've been trying to make a one-button collectable macro that doesn't require food ever since I discovered Idyllshire, and I still haven't been able to come up one that hits max collectability. The thing with the macro above is that it only uses three elemental actions for progress, leaving twelve command lines for IQ, SH, durability actions, and quality. I think it would be possible if we had a 100% success touch of some sort (obviating the need for a second SH), but in the end there's just a mathematical limit to the amount of quality you can gain with six stacks of Inner Quiet if you aren't responding to item states. -

It is possible to achieve a 100% hq level 60 1 button macro (ignoring poor conditions) with a full i170 crafted set melded with only grade 4 materia or lower. Not saying it's practical as it requires FC buffs & limiting yourself to 414cp but achievable.

The above is hard to achieve but if you're just trying to achieve the 7100 collectability then the rotation below doesn't require as much stats & for some could be done without food (still 1 button). The below rotation is using nq beet soup.
Stat requirements: 838 Craftsmanship/864 control/405cp
Stats needed before food
Beet Soup hq: 809 Craftsmanship/796 Control/405 CP
Beet Soup nq: 815 Craftsmanship/810 Control/405 CP
Pan-fried Mahi-Mahi hq: 838 craftsmanship/833 Control/405CP
Pan-fried Mahi-Mahi nq: 838 craftsmanship/839 Control/405CP
Dagger Soup hq: 838 craftsmanship/837 Control/405CP
Dagger Soup nq: 838 craftsmanship/842 Control/405CP (Can be bought for 415 gil from an NPC called "Mestonnaux" at "The jeweled Crozier" X:6.3, Y:9.9)

If you are 820 control and need to reach 837 even a low level food should be enough (pan fried mahi mahi NQ is 25 control if I remember right)
