If any and all animations has them holding it in one hand?
Eh? EH?
By that logic why do monks and ninjas hold two weapons when the icon only depicts one weapon
Eh? EH?
:^)
because holding it with 2 hands looks ridiculous. we are casting magic, we don't do some kind of martial arts with it...
but this is more true for the whm animation than the blm. the whm is in fact holding the staff with the right hand and do some kind of super magic gesture with the left hand xD
the whm animation is for a 2 handed staff, while the blm animation is for one handed staff and shield. but both types of weapons use the same animation and the one handed weapons are dead... wich is good, i really hated them.
the starter weapon for blm is a one handed weapon, the starter weapon for whm is two handed.
i can agree they could change the blm animations so they suits the two handed staff better, but please: no mage is holding his staff with both hands.
The better solution would be to bring back shields.
They use two hands to do some skills such as Swiftcast.
Who knows! BLM may draw or funnel energy in through their hand and expel it out of their stick! Feel it's as good an explanation as any. The sheer length of it despite primarily being one handed could be due to ornamental purposes. I dunno, I ain't a wizard.
BLM barely uses 3/4 of most of the staves they wield, especially for Roegadyn. Quite a lot of the models have you put your hand at almost the very end of the staff, with all the rest of it just extending uselessly past it. It's gotten better recently, especially with ones like the Lunaris Rod, but I was really disappointed to see it happen again with Anima. :T
Because Gandalf never used a shield and wands are almost non existent.
