3.25 release date March 29th?

The live letter said that the next relic updates were coming in patch 3.25 which was going to be 5 weeks after 3.2 is out so does that mean its coming out on March 29th?

oh cool I hope so, I was wondering when it'd be out.. the live letter is on the 26th, so I guess we'll see.

Let's prepare for a crazy grinding. Beat 6000 trials, 5000 dungeons, 40000 FATEs with a coldowns of 1 hour each, and also, craft 600 Itmes HQ with 4 star speacilist recipe, pay 60000000 gil an also, spent over 6000000 lore tomes (yes, I said lore tomes)

I will shut up, I don't want give ideas to devs.

You forgot the 2000 materias you will meld (or lose while trying to do so). What wouldd actually not be a bad idea with that flood of materia since 3.2.

I actually won't be surprised at all if this step uses materia to let us customise the stats as we did for the zodiac weapons. Maybe I'd better start holding onto them instead of selling them until we know for sure...

I doubt it. Yoshi already said that having the relic melding and then becoming BiS over the raid weapons was an oversight on their part. Since we can meld 220+ Gear, I'm guessing next upgrade will let you meld materias, and on 230/240 it will be dyeable.

The relic is really mediocre this time around. I understand not making it as strong as raid weapons. The length of the grind is just not worth it.

Unless you're a SCH, in which case it's the only crit weapon outside of Savage raids, thus being BiS when compared to weapons of the same ilevel.

I do a decent job of keeping up with interviews and the like, but I didn't see him say this specifically. Any idea where he did?

At this point, I actually think we'll see 3.25 6 weeks after the patch, though, if they follow the trend of the initial Anima step in 3.1 being relatively "easy." 230 weapons will be available for the first time for non-raiders after 7 weeks with Midan Gears/Lore, and I suspect the i230 Anima weapon would be obtainable right around the same time frame. It's possible the first step might give us a i220 weapon, though, with the next step being i230 and taking a couple weeks.

I think, we will see the return of the Desynthesis, meld materia and maybe skin map.

Well... it would be nice to have an announcement soon before all the Relic owners shell out their Lore for a wep.

I absolutely hate this part of the relic. So much grind for a useless weapon in most cases.

This. I'm almost tempted to just bite it and get the Lore for my second job instead, because SE is going to be cruel about it. It's almost like they want us to waste the 7 Gears.

I'd hope it is/isn't coming this quick. The BRD relic is good, probably one of the better relics, and I love to get a better version of it. However, if I gotta shell out money this time around I'm going to pass, especially if it's for items that are sellable on the market. The mark ups get ridiculous and given the lack of gil from anything outside of crafting and gathering, we don't need to continue this vicious cycle.

I'm actually thinking the opposite and that it would be better to abadon going for the DRG relic and going for the PLD weapon instead, since I still don't have all the unidentified mats yet anyways. Less worry about the skill speed problems that way.

Also to all the people worrying about crafted items once more, there is a 85% certainty its going to involve Materia once more, and between the Beast Tribes and the Machi Matter from the VA, as well as the Diadem, you probably won't need to buy anything.

I'm at 62/80 but I've started slowing down because the prices for that crafted HQ stuff u need went way up and I can't afford it anymore so I gotta save up more gil

Doesn't help that I bought a zu mount for 5m xD

Obligatory post so I can keep up with this thread. I'd love some solid info from the live letter. I have the relic for BLM, and the Sephirot weapon. I'd rather not waste my 7 gears on a Lore weapon that I'll replace in a week.

PS - and it's especially tempting since it's crit + spell speed. Arrrgh!

Relic will most likely be ilvl235 in 3.25 and upgraded to ilvl245 in 3.3.

I am absolutely certain that it will be on the 29th. Why you ask?

Because that is the first day back at work for me and millions of others across the western world after the easter holiday when we would have had plenty of time to do the anima grinding so of course we couldn't have it then...

The relic weapons are usually only 5 ilv lower than current top-tier weapons. My guess is this patch will bring us up to i240, and then shortly after the final Alex is released we'll be able to get the relic up to 5 ilv below that, and then come the final 3.x patch, we'll be able to upgrade the relic to the same ilv as the raid weapons. There will probably be multiple steps involved (so we'll probably go from i210 to i230 and then i240 within 3.25) but I am sure the ultimate cap for the relic weapons will stay 5 ilv below raid weapons until the raid weapon ilv increases with the next raid.

ETA This is all just based on the Zeta weapon progression, and SE even admitted they messed up with this relic weapon's progression. So I doubt they're going to make people with a relic have to stay at i230 until 3.35 because at that point nobody will do the relic, because they'll never become better than the tome weapons. (Sub-stats aside.) They'll pretty much have to make people be able to hit i240 in 3.25 or else they run the risk of very few people participating in content they've released for the sake of people participating in it.

As a casual player I like relics more just because of the sheer beauty ;) My Majestas is lovely.

What ever your smoking i want some, the Majestas is the worst designed weapon for its class, it does not look or conform to the WHM style or lore...also looks horrible. Afaik yes the relic will catch up but imo i doubt it will be worth the effort, for certain classes it will be a good choice but i highly doubt they will put the right stats on. And if they do another materia for ur stats then it wont be 240..more like 230.

I doubt it will be 245 in 3.3. They usually don't tack on the last 5 item levels (to make it equal in strength to the Raid weapon) until the very last patch before the next raid cycle begins (so expect it in 3.37 or 3.38, if they're going to make a 245 stage at all).

I think will be, accoding to Lore/Alex/Extreme item level progresion:

3.25 -> 220 / 230 (two steps)
3.35 -> 240
3.45 -> 250 / 260 (two steps)
3.55 -> 270 / 275 (last tier before 4.0)

I think on 3.25 it will be ilvl 230 or 5

and by the next before 3.4 it will be 245.

looking at ilvls....., we are going to end at ilvl300 this expansion or what .....wonder what ilvl we are going to hit in 4.0 ...probably 500?

I think we will finish on 270 for gear, 275 for Alex weapons. Following the scheme:

Tomestones of Law: 170 (180 upgraded)
Tomestones of Esotheric: 200 (210 upgraded)
Tomestones of Lore: 230 (240 upgraded)
Tomestones of ????: 260 (270 upgraded) (for the 3.4 patch)

Alexander Gordias 190 (210 Savage)
Alexander Midas: 220 (240 Savage)
Alexander ¿Frigia?: 250 (270 Savage)

Bismark Ex: 175
Ravana Ex: 190
Thordan Ex: 205
Sephirot Ex: 220

As you can see, +30 for each gear tier and +15 Primal Ex weapons. I'm suppossing will be till 3.5 patch like ARR.

Of coruse, maybe will be a completely different tiers.

I think it's gotta be 235 at least for the next relic step, if not 240. Otherwise, what's the point?

If they are releasing another upgrade during the 3.3 patch cycle then going up to only 230 could make sense this patch, and 240 on the next one as there won't be an ilvl increase in general till the last Alex raid.
