Because uniqueness and there is no dragon race.
I like the race specific clothing ( and poses though there are so few of those.)
Femroe has so much bounce in her starting outfit that I'm not sure why she's one of the least popular races.
Really? I like the Fem!AuRa Hempen Camise over the Fem!Miqo'te's.
Personally, I wished they'd make separate versions of the Hempen Undergarments of all the races and not make them race-locked and also unlock the starter gear too. :B
While I wouldn't care too much about the starting racial gear staying locked, I would love if the Hempen stuff had the different versions for all - the Elezen Hempen top would love lovely on my Hyur xD
It's charming the different races have a different look. We need more not less of that.
I would like to see the trending Cat Hole Top fashion introduced at the next Moonfire Faire. Also, for non-Miqo'tes there would additional Miqo'te ears and tail. http://dpegb9ebondhq.cloudfront.net/...4_original.png
I like the race specific gear. It creates some diversity.
That meme underwear will already be forgotten before the next moonfaire, dead like meme sweater.
Because only Miqo'te can wear the halftop design since 1.0.
During 1.0 they were not only race-specific, but also race-locked. Each race had their own underwear gears, not just their own design on the same gear.
The only race-locked thing I want is those sexy male Highlander hempen pants
Summer Event when prizes are beach wear. A bikini set with the cat shaped keyhole and paw print on the rear (paw print would be optional) . Males would have a similar set but with a masculine flare. Instead of a cat shaped keyhole the guys top could have 3 openings shaped like cat scratches at an angle. Like the top got shredded in battle.
I think Flame General Raubahn Aldynn and the Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo are an item. I'd like to see them together at Costa del Sol enjoying the beach.
I am so sick of hearing people cry about this kind of "homogenization". Yes, allowing racial hempen designs on other races would make the look less unique, but as it stand now it's actually much worse. EVERY female miqote has the same top, EVERY female highlander has the same clothes, etc. Creating items like "Highlander-style hempen camise" and the others would allow for each person to pick the looks that they as an individual prefer.
*shrug* That's how you see it. I'm quite sure the story at least implies they are in a romantic relationship of some sort. And here's a little FYI; the guy behind the lore stated that it's entirely possible for two different races to be together and then some, but it is not publicly displayed in society due to the social stigmas behind it.
And I'm sick of people throwing a fit every time a piece of gear is exclusive to a specific race or gender and demanding that everything be given to them because OPTIONS AND VARIETY!, yet here we are.
I love the unique camise stuff :) considering we all got the same underwear model which disappointed me... to atleast have one outfit in the game thats unique to your race is.. not much.. but its something.. I wish there was more of its kind
Race-exclusive clothing has always been and will always be stupid. I'm still EXTREMELY jealous of the Auri camise, but I don't wanna actually switch to Au Ra. It'd be nice if we could explore other options with some basic stuff like that. More options is never bad. I also find it incredibly ironic that the people who advocate locking off gear for such arbitrary reasons cite "uniqueness", while actively denying more visual combinations that would ACTUALLY enhance uniqueness.
Well I don't know... I like Male Elezen's undershirt to apply on my highlander :/
See, I disagree with this. If they were all race unlocked, the less favorable models would die and become useless. Think about the hair from 2.0- each race got a style specifically tailored to them, and then once the elezen hair (the long hair with the single braid in the back) came out everyone wanted it, and regardless of it being from fan demand or not, SE made it available to everyone and that's the single most popular hairstyle I see now. Most ignore the hyur dreadlocks, and the roe's long mohawk. When you remove the race lock, the masses flock to a "favorite," it becomes the norm, and all other options (that you would have had to work with, with locks in place) become the norm and lose any sense of uniqueness. I'm not saying everything should be locked behind something but having a few unique options per race creates a unique identity for everyone, and if your race doesn't cater to the identity you want, be creative and make it work given the options you have.
I want the Miqote top on my highlander.
I don't really know if more undergarmets for our characters is needed but some more casual clothes would be great. I know wow had lots of nearly naked options but i see enough barely clothed players in pug primal battles as it is.... lol
But hey, more casual clothes would be great... Like, some more medieval stuff. Link's outfit from Zelda maybe? :p
I'm pretty happy with the new expedition outfit but I'm still debating glamouring it. It's nice and frilly, very poofy. I know there are long dresses too but they don't seem appropriate for battle lol...
Also they need to put proper underwear for highlander. Are Ala Mhigo people really love bondage suit??
I disagree in return. I have several racial hempen tops that I like the looks of, and would love to wear. Elezen, miqo'te, au ra, roegadyn... They all have different aesthetics, and would fit different types of glamour. Not to mention that not everyone has the same tastes in hempen top that you do; you may like only one of them, but others like several of them. Or like a different one than you do. Basically this: Right now, you have every elezen being forced to use the elezen hempen top or none of them. If they were all unlocked in some way, you'd have some elezen with the elezen top, other elezen with the roegadyn top, yet others with the midlander top, and so on. You'd have some who'd go with both top+bottom from the same set, and some who'd combine pieces from different sets.
In short, unlocking them would allow for a lot more diversity than we have now.
Midlanders would like to have a word with SE regarding that... They were the only ones who never got a racial preview of a hair.
They might for a while, yes. But eventually things tend to even out a bit more. It also allows SE to gather more statistical information regarding which hairstyles (for example) people like the most, which means they can create more hairstyles that cater to that aesthetic, giving the "majority" a wider selection which means some of them will switch and thus reduce the number of people using the "most popular hairstyle". Just because they don't announce "most popular hairstyle" doesn't mean they can't get to those statistics (sure, it's possible they can't, but their lack of producing statistics isn't proof of it).
I'm convinced that every single person in this thread who advocates "diversity" and "needing more racially locked gear" would very quickly reconsider their stance if their race was assigned clothing that they found uglier than the others.
