The story quests are just getting out of hand. I wanted to buy the expac, but i gotta wait til tomorrow or monday, i was trying to work through the story quests to get to heavensward but jesus, these thing don't end... What is the deal with all these quests? I don't remember it being like this, last i remember you beat ultima weapon and the story was done after that, now I've completed at least 20 more story quests and still don't even feel like i am breaking the surface. Is there any way to skip all of these quests or are they seriously neccessary?

There's about a zillion more quests including trials and dungeons between Ultima and Heavensward. No way to skip them because story.

The storyline is what leads you to ishgard, storyline wise ishgard still has it's borders closed to foreigners entirely, it doesn't make sense for your character to suddenly be allowed there without completing the main story quest completion that explains your entire reason for being there in the first place. It's fairly grindy I agree and I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to give up.Quote:

It just feels like no point to what I am doing... My attention span sucks lol. Keep in mind that you're playing through about 2 years worth of patch content with new story quests added every 3 months after the initial release. They also padded the 2.0 series patch story quests with excessive fetch quests to try to keep everyone happy. Fortunately, they seem to have moved away from this in the 3.0 series.

03-19-2016, 04:19 PMKhalitharYeah I was glad to have that link when I was grinding through the story when I started the game last may, I powered from 1-50 and got all the main story quest stuff done in about 3 weeks, just in time to pre-order HW and continue from there. Though I did have to stop to grind tomestones to get my ilevel high enough since this was before they rewarded the gear that pushed your ilevel high enough.Quote:

I actually enjoy the fact that this game has mandatory storyline unlike all the other MMOs where people rush to max level in a week, hop into the endgame and skip all the content in between. It's great running a new dungeon with my friends and at the end we all get a cut scene that we experience together and talk about afterwards. I wish more games had that, honestly.
