Machinist and Gauss Barrel - Toggle hide option?

This is purely my opinion -


So when it comes to Gauss Barrel, I'm sure most of us have seen how it looks out of place on top of the thiner muskatoon models. Or completely stupid on top of Ferdinand models, that huge gap? How does it even?!

If it scaled to fit the size of the model that would be great, sadly it doesn't, and frankly in my opinion just looks stupid D:
Now I'm happy it dyes along side the weapon now, but if possible an option to hide it when it's activated would be a welcome addition.

It's more of an aesthetic gripe, but a very welcome addition if it could be possible.

Throughout levelling machinist, I wanted to know why some guns will animate their hammer with some moves (Slug Shot comes to mind) while others don't at all.

Though you are right... Gauss Barrel doesn't match most weapons, it's a real vanity shame...

My guess is time restraints led to cuts and oversights. I theorized in another thread that MCH underwent huge changes relatively late into its development. The number of oversights (strange animations, arguably low DPS that required two lists of buffs via patches, no self-heal, inconsistent barrel and hammer animations) would certainly make more sense if this were the case.

I understand that new jobs aren't going to be perfectly balanced in an MMO, but MCH feels more like it it got locked into questionable design choices that can't really be fixed without changing some of its fundamental procedures.

Why we don't have an option to toggle the look off is beyond me as I'm pretty sure most of the player base agrees it looks awful.

You're absolutely right! And even with those that don't agree, having an option to make it visible or not would ensure that both sides are then happy.

I still don't understand why they can change the quiver for the bards and the scarab for the astrologian but not the lunch box or gauss barrel for the machinest

My hope is much like the aura for darkside on drk, they will add it in eventually.

BRD has nothing noticeable on them with their casting stance, except a little music note. So being able to hide it would be brilliant!

I'm sorry but I've noticed a lot of issues/design flaws with machinist, Gauss barrel not lining up may be small but..yes it looks bad, another is the lower determination My Machinist is geared better than my bard (neither is melded mine you) Bard is in Void ark, Machinist was in a mix of eso,Alex Midas and Lore, and had 100 less Determination than my bard...I don't think that's supposed to happen.

Maybe if we complain enough they'll make a "gauss/ aetheroconverter off" option Gauss Barrel aside (since I can atleast turn it off when not in combat/ in town) I don't like how that pack looks. It clashes with just about most gear and due to that I am stuck using guns that have an option to be dyed: the i180 and 205 PvP guns come to mind, since I can atleast change the color.

Really, MCH is lacking in so many ways, down to their animation of their attacks. The only saving grace is that their LB and vpose/bstance looks great

Huh? My bard and machinist are wearing the shared 220 set at the moment and they have the exact same crit/det/acc (Relic gun and Berimbau have the same stats). There's no difference in their determination. Equipment choices matter.

Editing for on topic: Yes. Please let us hide gauss barrel. Ugliest thing ever. Even on guns it 'matches' it still looks stupid. It makes relic gun drag on the ground when I run with it drawn because I'm short.

That's the issue then, I'm not using the anima weapon. Without it Machinist has lower determination than bard. I wasn't fully aware of what stat changes the anima brings since using it lowers my crit hit rate compared too using the eso upgraded weapon.

True, there probably is. But no harm in asking for an option :)
