It sure feels like good ol fatigue is back to me. Anyone try grinding? Noticing that the synth process becomes more and more difficult to complete with each passing synth? Not to mention that the synth process has been made much more difficult over all.
Idk, I think crafting is a bit too difficult now. I don't want it so easy that you can just sit there and spam the "enter" key or the button on the controller mindlessly and complete a synth 5 or more levels higher than you, but I don't wan't it so difficult that I can't even make more than 3 items that are 3 to 4 levels above me without failing either. I know you guys (devs) know what I'm talking about here. At least loose the secret fatigue system.
You guys need to think hard, are you really giving the players what they want? If so, why do more keep fleeing after each patch? Now you really want us to pay for something that fails to provide fun entertainment?
For anyone that might not agree, start counting! How many are left compared to how many have gone?

I haven't noticed any type of fatigue, but the synth process is definitely more difficult, more expensive and less rewarding. As I said in another post, I use 2 raw materials to make 1 intermediate material using a synth that is 5 levels above my level and it only gives 200 exp whereas before 1.19, I could do a synth that was 2 levels below me and still get 250-300.
SE just needs to rethink this previous patch on grinding and try to find a middle ground between then and now. -

If you're only getting 200xp then the synth isn't above your level. You might want to check around and see what the new level of the items you're crafting are.
I came back BECAUSE of this patch, and am enjoying it immensely, and I'm seeing quite a few folks who have done the same. It's definitely a step in the right direction, and a huge improvement over a few months ago. I also don't notice any sort of fatigue, and the difficulty seems to scale very well with how far above or below your level the synth is, as long as you're in the best NQ gear you can get that actually has relevant stats and isn't over your level (as you get zero (0) bonuses from overleveled gear). -

I have always believed there is a secret system working against craft grinding, but nobody believes my superstitions =P. Every time I sit down to make something at or slightly above my level, the first synth goes great. Lots of 20 progress success actions, minimal durability loss, finish up with a good 70+ durability left, no prob. Then the second synth, actions fail more, progress cuts to 13~16% for success, unstables happen more, and I finish with maybe 40 durability. By the third synth of the same item without changing a thing, the first action will fail and usually lead to a chain reaction of Risk that leads to multiple critical fails in a row and a struggle to even finish the synth. This seems to happen until I finally fail one, then it "resets" and is easy again.
I call this THE CURSE. Maybe it's something to hinder craft botters or maybe SE just doesnt want you to sit in one spot and synth the same thing for hours. Some trick I use when I notice THE CURSE start to set in are:
1) Get up and run around in circles a few times.
2) Change jobs then change back to your grinding class.
3) Switch some gear around and start again.
4) Rotate between 2-3 exp synths instead of just one over and over.
5) Load your mats manually, dont use the Recipe or "Continue Synthing X?" options, they are dirty saboteurs.
It sounds like a load of phooey but believe it or not, it works for me! Every few synths I do one or two of the above to reset THE CURSE when my easy synths turn to nightmares, and it keeps my grinding going smoother.
P.S. If you're really counting on a difficult finished product, after making all the pieces, STAND UP! Don't stay in craft mode between the pieces and final synth or THE CURSE may kill your product. Make the pieces, get up, run around, stretch, meditate, do whatever. Then make the final synth the FIRST one you do after you kneel into crafting mode again. -

I'm inclined to believe Venus. I've never been able to sit and successfully grind crafting. I don't know though what to think. It's already too easy to get high level crafts do the leves which give you free experience. I think we also have too many crafters but now I'm getting into a different topic. One thing I did notice is that the standard set of gear for crafting has the stats changed quite a bit so that might be causing issues. So have the tools changed too.
The ol' crafting set I had used to be heavier in Craftsmanship. Now I end up with more M.Craftsmanship after I got rid of the Dated stuff. -

and even start a new synth 3 lvs lower and first standard synth, not only fails but destabilizes, lol ( with great gear, guild buff and food).
stating 8-10 lvs above is just a bit of a stretch i think.
i dont have too many complaints about it being an actual grind, thats not the issue for me. but the utter randomness regardless of all these factors that apparently "help" imo, has to go. -

At least for skill-up recipes, break it, laugh it off and just do the next. No big deal.
Prior to 1.19, I started on Woolen Cloth at 41. I also did Iron greaves from 42. Starting break rates were at 20-30% or so but the exp still works out a lot better than using a lower recipe. -

Carpenter 37 and and got 715xp/synth on Rosewood Lumber all the way to 38. No fatigue noticed.

you really got leather 50 wo using them? its pretty hard to craft higher level stuff without them.
