In my opinion, RO died when they introduced transcendent jobs. That's when gameplay balance took a huge nosedive. Then again, PvP was always imbalanced outside of WoE, so it wasn't the most deciding factor. It just got a million times more grindy.

RO was the first mmo I played and I still adore it... though haven't played it seriously for... what... 5 years now? Maybe 6? I tried a few times to pick it up again, with and without friends, but for the life of me I can't get back into it.
I also played RO2 purely for nostalgia, but it was a hilariously terrible game.
Also slightly more on topic, it's happened to me before where I get 90k'd and can't log back on until I've reset my router, restarted my pc, sacrificed my neighbour's dog, and ran the game as admin. -
