Lets go back at 2.0

So 3 years ago(i think) was this game a bit broken like blade and soul right now? bots, lag, ping issues, economy imbalance, bad community? i ask because i find that right now after blade two month release is doing pretty bad and i just started playing ffxiv. if i compare blades forum and ffxiv forum the community in blade sucks + all the people are saying "o i quit because of_______" was it like that when ffxiv started? i mean all mmos starts with imbalance and needs fixes but damn blade and soul made a record lol. no hating here

It was bad, but very playable. Had to do constant maintenance and other fixes. As for the community, it was better back then. People actually helped you clear content without wanting to get a reward from it. Even good players didn't talk crap about bad players. Now, it's "3 wipes and I'm done" in a learning party kind of thing.

Sure all MMO's when they start have issues. FFXIV attracted more players than they imagined at first and the servers had issues people couldn't even log on for the first couple of days of early access it was that busy. Latency was a constant issue with the game they made some improvements to how positioning is handled by the servers and more recently added proper EU servers so EU players won't have to play with lag even on EU servers. Economy was bad at first on legacy servers but got better quickly they also added many new servers that started from zero.

The main issue I guess for FFXIV back then was the lack of endgame it was very boring once the main story was over until 2.1 added new content and people got grumpy because of the farming grind but in many ways I think the community for this game is one of the nicest MMO communities. The Devs have tried their best to stay close to the fans and listen to them to improve the game and add things people would enjoy so I think they have managed to keep a lot of players and keep growing the community with new ones. Something like B&S is your usual F2P experience it's also already an old game it just took a long time to come to the West and it's not a particularly good game so after the initial month of new things people get bored of it and the idiocy begins. I think F2P games attract a lot of bad people too FFXIV has botters and gold sellers which are a pain but I think certain types of people don't play sub games and always show up in F2P stuff and I saw those people tear apart fun games too after they went F2P.

Excluding endgame, 2.0 lacked:
1. Glamour
2. Aesthetician
3. Purchasable Fantasia potions

I supposed the only saving grace that 2.0 (and FF 14 in general) had was that the devs promised to release content every 3ish months so many waited till 2.1 was released to decide whether or not it was worth continuing to sub

Well from what I remember, everyone was fairly happy with the game with only minor complaints. Everyone has their little points they like to hate on but as a whole everyone seemed/seems to enjoy the game. You could always go back in the history and read for yourself if you want.

Having tried FFXIV in the beta but not actually playing it until now and having played Blade & Soul off and on since the CN launch I can say that B&S has had yeaars to fix it's issues whereas FFXIV was a new launch everywhere, not just in NA. Comparing a fresh launch with unexpected turnout to a game that's been released in at least four other versions isn't a very good comparison.

so basically blade and soul will remain the same? since its an old game with different versions? idk how long that game will survive tho

Blade and soul is fun to play at certain rates, whereas FFXIV has to be dedicated in a certain way.

Since you are talking about stability, I must say that Heavensward (I am not talking about 2.0 here) was stable at release. In Rift's latest expansion "Nightmare Tide", after 24 hours where people had rushed to the new level cap by taking leave and buying all those exp boosts (it's an f2p game), several servers went down. And then for some of those servers, they continueued to be down for 2 days. And after the 2nd day, players were told that there would be a roll-back to before the expansion. So people lost their progress during the day they took leave from work. And worst of all was Trion's handling of the matter. Their customer service had gone to the dogs since they went f2p and they barely apologised for it. They just compensated by having a very short 2x exp event during a specific time period on a Saturday, which of course many players missed.

Perhaps more info on 2.0 than you wanted (big wall of text). This is about most of the problems I remember:

The biggest complaint I remember from the 2.0 launch was how the servers were constantly full due to the unexpected popularity. At one point they actually had to make it so there was only like a 5 minute window per hour that people could log in. Economies weren't that stable iirc either, at least on my server. There wasn't much gil in circulation and the base relic weapon for an earlier step cost around 50k for the DRG one and the materia for the relics were anywhere from 30k to 50k a piece. That might not seem that bad but iirc I probably had about 300k by the time I reached 50 with minimal purchases. Gear repairs also did not scale to the amount of durability missing on your gear. Also the difficulty of trying to complete Chimera for A Relic Reborn and just people having a hard time clearing Titan HM. It was also really difficult at first to get the Tomestones of Philosophy and to cap the Tomestones of Mythology. The fastest way was to sac pull AK and also Demon Wall used to be a huge pain in the butt before over-gearing and the removal of the adds. WP also used to be pretty difficult (though easier than AK) due to lack of gear and just people still figuring out the game. I do remember that there were some people who would leave after 1 wipe in content back then, but they weren't as common as they are now. There was also no PF so for things that weren't in the DF then (i.e. Chimera and Hydra) you had to just shout in the zone for a group. I remember too much about 2.0s launch.

TL;DR the biggest complaint was the difficulty with getting onto the servers and the constant D/C'ing. I haven't played Blade and Soul but I know that it's a few year old game that's been out in another country and it really should have issues like what you listed fixed by now.
