First off I would like to say that I really like the look of some of the gear that's in the game. With that said, I'd like to ask why you force some of the DoH classes to look rediculous.

As a 50 CRP, trying to max my Vitality, I am forced into wearing a felt gown (which is ok I guess, but why would a carpenter want to wear a) a gown b) a felt gown), and these spandex looking pants with frilly poofs on the side (chausses). My favorite part of MMOs is making my character look cool. I'm seriously getting the impression that the equipment was all made for miqote, then scaled for other races. And I'm also getting the impression that the equipment was made with class/stats tied to these pieces of equipment merely just in hindsight.
Smith equipment looks appropriate for its classes (smithy's gloves, dodore doublet, vintage thighboots), so what the heck happened to carpentry? I know there is class specific equipment coming out for DoW and DoM, are there any plans to implement such for DoH and DoL? Also, why won't you guys ever give us boots that match, my Botanist is wearing all red raptorskin equipment, minus the brown boots that I was forced into wearing for the appropriate stats...

Yes, a thousand times yes. For most of my lower levels on BSM (and ARM for that matter) i was wearing a bright ass yellow vest and friggin tights that had my elezen bulge just blaring to the world. It got so bad i'm now on a lalaphile watch list for crafting too close to a school.

Blacksmith can get like 3 40+ leves at Ul'dah while carp get none always.
Even at Grid sometimes I only get 1 40+ leve offered.
I think it's due to they removed some recipe such as peak planks and leve get removed too. Since everyone forgot there is carp existed so it just remind empty there... -

Weaver, and a miqo'te, so yeah, frills and fluff don't look quite as silly on me but.. I'd love to see some less frilly looking gear in general, because being female/miqo'te does not mean I actually LIKE the frills.
Also, speaking of aesthetics... Am I the only one who absolutely hates pattens/crakows? Thank god for thighboots and the new gaiters. -

It's not just crafters that have this problem, Gatherers see it too.
For the 30's range for Gatherer the Velveteen gear must be green, yellow and red for all gathering stats. Not to mention you have to wear the Gaiters and I'm really not a fan of mining in heels.
Edit: At some point tonight I'll hop on and grab a screenshot of my 30's gathering gear, then you'll have something to laugh at. Can't switch it out until 42/43 for Boardskin since for some reason there's no Toadskin Leather gear since that's what would fill the 30 range.
Seems like they a good portion of 20 and 30 range gear didn't make it to the new recipes yet, hopefully that'll be remedied in 1.20. -

For anyone interested the gathering related stats are:
Head: Perception +12
Body: Gathering +17, Output +5
Hands: Gathering +11
Waist: Output +8, Perception +5
Legs: Gathering +6
Feet: Gathering +11
This is all new recipe gear mind you. There's also no new leather set for this range. -

I've seen quite a lot of good looking crafters/gatherers when I've been running about - I am lucky on my Botanist as I am at the perfect level to wear the Boarskin stuff. Must just be a level range that I haven't noticed in which you are all quite unlucky, as I thought the majority of the new recipes actually looked really good, including the low level NPC purchasable stuff. Clearly you have all been hiding from me in shame!

I dont really care as much about VIT on carpenter but I've been wearing Green Cobalt Preserves, a Woolen Doublet (I'll get the VIT one when the price drops...), Felt Halfgloves (smithy gloves when the price drops), Woolen Slops, and Boarskin Thighboots (upgrading when the price drops!). Good stats all around and I look awesome.
Edit: Hell, just get one of the Artisan hats instead of preserves and you'd look similar to the old guy in your picture =P -

These are important questions for crafters. There are a lot of people who craft a lot more than fight because this game is essentially in beta. Basically, the only cotent that can't change too radically is crafting (as far as we know it hasn't and won't). With a looming subscription over our heads, this may be make or break. Call me shallow, but I just like my gear to look good.
EDIT: I understand that whether you like a piece of gear or not is subjective, but I'm pretty sure the majority of people playing this game agree that the best gear (stat wise) for carpenters (and other DoH classes) just looks bad. -
