Just hit 50 need advice .

What should i do to hit 60 asap. I bought the game a year ago, hit lvl 35 and didnt play again until last Saturday. I bought Heavensward as well.

Well, whereabouts are you up to in the storyline? Go through the main scenario (which has been expanded) all the way to the 2.55 patch story which is required to gain access to Ishgard and the expansion's content. This is also necessary for levelling up your job past 50 as even though the new Job quests start in existing areas, they will take you into Heavensward areas and the quests are essential for gaining new abilities past 50 (your base class will no longer gain default abilities after 50 - it's only Job abilities after that unlocked by a Job quest every two levels).

So really it comes down to getting up to date with the main scenario quests - especially now as they also reward you with old 'tome' gear to help keep your gear up to date for that content.

Yes then you have a while to go. That means you still need to complete the original 2.0 Main scenario (if that quest name is about what I think it is i mean), then you need to go through the 2.1-2.55 MSQ. Should not take TOO long depending on how much you play. After that you will be able to continue into Heavensward and really level past 50. You need to follow the MSQ in this game. It is a core part of the game. It is not like other MMOs where you can just grind with no story instead and still do endgame stuff. You need to do the MSQ to unlock anything really in this game

Yup noticed. I think it works well too I just finished the Ultima Weapon dungeon and man that lightbeam dancing was fun. But yea all ive been doing is Roulette dungeon > main scenario. I figure the hundreds of side quests i skipped can be used for alt classes.

Glad they took a different approach than other MMOs. Im a die hard Final Fantasy fan...... tbh if it werent for Final Fantasy 3 on Super NES(6 in japan) i dont think i would have tried playing any other RPGs MMOS included. FF is the game series that got me into RPGs

I started a new character after a break and what I did at 50 was unlock all the 2.X dungeons. With the first time completions, daily roulettes, and MSQ I think I was 55 before even getting to Ishgard lol.

After that it was just going through the 3.0 story. I think I had to level to 58 and 59 before being able to continue on with the story, but the roulettes gave me about half a level or more a day. So, it was pretty easy to do.

Getting the level 50 dungeon roulette seemed to help the most to fill in the old exp bar, I kept coming up short otherwise for the main storyline. If I knew a lot more about the 1-50 guide before I had hit 50, I might of been 60 by now lol

Easiest way to level will always be dungeons...unless your a dps. If dps, dungeons but while your wait 40mins or so you can do fates and leve's. As always you can join fate parties.. but then you can't have dutyfinder up. If you do fates solo don't forget u can use chocobos to help out.

Battle chocobos are also considered a party, so you can't have those out while waiting on Duty Finder either.

Would be a nice quality of life change if they let us have choco companion out while waiting on dutyfinder. Can't be that difficult to have them 'automatically withdraw' as soon as a dungeon is entered / queue party formed.

But yeah, you'll have a good 100 story quests to go through between ultima and getting to heavensward content.
Not much point worrying about your level or reaching 60, since you'll anyways have to reach the '60 point' in the story first.

It's often been asked for, and was even acknowledged by SE who was apparently working on it a couple years ago. But it seems the plan never reached fruition, so I don't know what the chances are of it by now.

Leves, fates, but best would be to get a preformed group and run dungeons. Also use exp food and if you are in a FC they can have "Heat Of the Battle" activated for a little extra exp as well.
It is true that dps queue times are rather long on many content so in Heavansward i mainly leveled Monk, Dragoon and Ninja to 60 by doing fates with some dungeons in between. Lots of people were doing fates when hw first came out, lol

Finish the MSQ and you can get a bulk of your exp from the Heavensward MSQ and fates to fill in the gaps as lots do them for shards. If you're a tank of healer, dungeons to fill gaps, fast queue and easy exp. Don't forget food.

What's your source for this information?

I don't have a source to cite for you other than my own personal experience, but I also recommend focusing on the main scenario quest first. =)
