Vath Beast Tribe

Just had to say this, that the Vath Beast Tribe questline is the best of all the tribes so far.
Really loving the story so far and cannot wait to gain next level of reputation just to see more of the story :)

Going from seeing themselves as outcasts, without purpose in the world, to seeing them become happy that what they can do for others makes them happy and even going outside of their own comfort zones, talking to dragons, kobolds etc is to me a very nice underdog story ^^

Keep up the great work Devs and everyone :D

What I do like about this quest is our little "apprentice". I have no idea why, but I have taken a liking to him on the actual story progression parts. I mean, he shot a goblin, and even invoked a "just pick up the damn rocks" for one of my choices. (Which I didn't select, but will on my Alt just to see the reaction)

Not only that, but he's got some pretty good solutions to problems the people have, all without using his boomstick xD

Plus...the wine daily quest... just.. eww.

Great tribe quest so far, can't wait to see the rest.

Agree the Vath story is more interesting, I even gave some time to read their dailies quests. The Vanu on the other hand I sped through most of their dialogue.

I agree, the Vath are easily my favorite beast tribe. I'll genuinely be sad when I hit max rank with them, because the story will be over :( I live in hope that Heavensward will have a massive group tribe quest like ARR had just so I can spend more time with the Vath.

Eww? That is the greatest quest in the game! Just remind me never to drink any wine in the game since I can't be sure how it was made...

I agree, I really like their quests and story. The dragon dailys made me laugh!

Also the Vath remind me of organized crime. Think about it

They produce bootleg wine.
They produce weed cigars
They engage in Arms dealing
They make chemical weapons
..and apparently once you kill a Gnath you are formally initiated into Vath

Maybe "adventurer" is just Vath for "the bug mafia"

Maybe the primal worshipping Gnath, sure. The Vath? Too naive and innocent to really make that comparison. But they may have a union if that one quest told me anyhting....

To be honest, I didn't expect anything from the Vath since the beast tribe as a whole seemed incredibly uninteresting before we got their quests.

But after we got the quests, I have to say, they are definitely the most well done out of all the beast tribes out there. Although I suppose it helps that their plot has way more to do with interacting with everyone else rather than being self-contained religious squabbles. It actually feels like you're making a real impact while helping them establish their independent society.

(Incidentally, I also notice it is also MUCH easier to rank up Vath compared to all the other beast tribes. Either there's a lot of hidden ranks later on that aren't reflected in achievements, or having maxed reputation for them is going to be a requirement down the road for something other than the HW Beast Tribe unity quest.)

Well to be fair, we didn't get to interact with the Vath a whole lot in 3.0, but 3.2 managed to make me care about them since they actually try to be useful and act like any other person (with some quirks, <click> <click>!) As for ranking up faster, I noticed that you start at rank 3 instead of 1 and you get 70 rep points per quest instead of 50 like the Vanu Vanu.

Wait really? I knew about the 70 points, but I never noticed we started at rank 3. I wonder what the max rank is on these.. if it's the same, it's gonna be painfully short..

It probably maxes out at 8 again, though maybe this time there will be an actual quest at the max instead of just a congratulations.

Yes this beast tribe has been the best so far. Very good job devs.

I actually enjoy the Vath beast tribe quests too. Actually, i've enjoyed them all so far. only done two but hey...

The've made the old beast tribes relevant by adding T4 materias as quest rewards for the final tier of dailies. Additionally, relic upgrade items can be gotten through all beast tribes, including the old ones. It'd take a bit of work if you haven't done them, but it's worthwhile chipping away at them. I usually do mine on a lvl 60 and then turn in on a job that needs xp lol. No aggro and killing mobs in 2-3 hits makes them go silly quick.

I just had a thought.

The Vath have made deals with the Convictor Knights, the Goblins of Idyllshire, and the Dragons of Anyx Trine. What is there left for them to connect with?

I wonder if the next quest will have them chatting with the Vanu. Watching the Deftarm take up fishing would be pretty gold.
