It would be nice if we could join party in progress from the friend list, FC interface and linkshell interface.
It is annoying when a friend asks for help with an instance just to be placed in a different party - which is quite often waste of time leading to instant leave, making both groups unhappy about this situation.
Please give us the option to join instances by clicking on player names.

This is seriously annoying. So now two people wasted half hour doing content which gave us nothing in return, while the friend was left stuck without a tank. While in principle I can appreciate the idea of it as I've been in that same situation trying to join a friend or FC member in progress I'm not really sure how they would be implemented it's not really as simple as you think looking at how the DF works. Unless they introduced search terms somehow and then it'd just make things way more complicated and give the servers way more to do for something that while annoying isn't a game breaking issue. I'm not exactly sure what search rules are used for joining a party in progress if ones that have been going for longer get priority or it's just 100% random.

The simple solution would be to enable party members to invite friends from within dungeons. This would still invite corruption but would improve chances of dungeons refilling quickly. Ethical violations would have to be dealt with like all others. Reports and bans.

Hmmm. Maybe if it could only be accessed if a player leaves w/o being vote kicked? Usually it's a tank or healer that leaves at the start, then available FList invite, but not if boot.

I think that, as of the moment, one reason we don't have this is due the server mechanics. While various chats work when we are in Duty, basically we are on different server space. The chats already work on their own server space which is why we can access them even during loading screens, but there is no connection otherwise to players outside of duty. Propably our clients couldn't even see who others are online, much less to send anything to them.
Maybe this could be overcome, but I think it would take drastic changes to the structure that is in place. -

I agree that this would be a great feature with the appropriate abuse-preventative measures in place but I also believe that leaving another party that needed a tank just because it wasn't your friend's group is indeed poor form. I mean, I completely get that it's a sigh-inducing and frustrating situation when it happens but that's the risk you should be willing to take when you know full well that you may not get into the specific run you were looking for. Those people needed help too but instead it seems like you choose to slap them in the face just because "Oh I don't know you, so I don't care".

Due to this I wasted both my time and money to get some random people from different servers through the dungeon. I play the game to have fun, I am not payed to do content that is boring and that I done way too many times while leveling. So unless someone asks for help it is pointless for me to do said content. It should be good enough that I wanted to fill the tank spot in my friend's group, which also included two random players, because the next tank could have tanked the group I tanked and everyone would have been happy about it instead of disgusted.Quote:

sure those others need help too, but often the only reason I queued in the first place was to help my friends who asked for help, not the people in the other group I landed in. So had my friends not asked for help I wouldn't have queued and thus not joined the other group I got put in and as such it would still be seeking a replacement. so getting put in random groups helps no one at all.
Recently it's been a case that people will abandon a duty when they ask for help and start from the beginning just to be sure the help is in the right place and doesn't end up in another random group..Quote:

But as others are said, if I have an hour to play, I have decided I get some gather done, for once, and my friends ask help to get out of dungeon I could agree. I'm not joining in because I want a dungeon run. I'm joining in precisely because I want to help those particular people. Earlier the same day I might have done a roulette with ticking the "join in duty" just to help any random group. They are not mutually exclusive options. The game could have both. Recent personal example: I was running a level 50 roulette the other day (partly to get an alexandrite map since I was working on the kettle quest) on DRG, since it could use the EXP. Ticked in-progress so that maybe it would queue faster. I got into an in progress dungeon where both the tank and a dps had bailed. We sat there for several minutes waiting for a tank to show up, calling out to linkshells, nothing. Eventually I decide that since it would probably easier to find another dps than a tank, and announce to the others that I'm going to leave and try requeuing as a tank. So I requeue for the roulette with in progress checked. I figure, I still need the actual roulette, and I'm either going to get paired with the same group or with another group that also needs a tank to fill in, right? Nope! Queue pops for a new instance. It's possible that another tank showed up to the first one while I was outside, but I doubt it. -

Still an issue. A friend asked for help, I Qued in-progress... and got in a new run. I am seriously getting tempted to just leave the new groups and leave them without a tank, because there is no point to stay in there when doing the instance itself is not my objective at all.
When the only reason I enter the Q is to help the friends there is no point for me to stay there. Seriously starting to feel like that the game is exploiting my morals and wants me to act like a jerk.
It would be lovely if at least the groups in-progress got priority - or in the best case scenario if you could join your friends directly. Potential abuse can be reported.
