Why is Orchestrion Music for an FC house jukebox attached to players and not the FC?

I do not understand this. I cannot play any music on the FC jukebox unless I obtain the rolls myself. Why? Why can't the music rolls be attached specifically to the FC house's jukebox so that any FC member with permissions can play them?

Sure I can hear the music other FC members have acquired, but if we want to change the tracks, we have to hunt each other down.

Perhaps this was the intent -- you can only hear music you or others with you have collected. Think of it as a "community" thing.

I'm actually glad it's this way. I don't want to have to collect them for FC house as well as private house (and it's another little thing for us to collect/achieve like minions, mounts, etc.).

All we need is to meet midway and give the Orcehestrion the ability to save 5~10 tracks locally as "Last Played" or "Favorites" soundtrack. That way we don't need to farm multiple times for music sheet and our fc member or personal housing room mate can still change the tracks as they like (with limited freedom).

I think this was the intent too. Give players another collection system like minions and mounts.

Uhm...cause you havn't obtained it...

It's like you would ask if you could use mounts or minions of another person which isn't using it at the moment.
I didn't see such a complain for mounts and minions. They are easy to achiev if you are willing to get them.

I think this is a great idea, and it isn't even a stretch to imagine. If you and numerous other people were living in a home together, and you each had to use your own CDs(bare with me on the old technology, MP3s ruined a comparable scenario) to play music for the house, it isn't unreasonable that a few people would leave the popular ones nearby to listen to anytime. Sure, you have your own music as well, and continue to own what the FC may use, but I believe it would be a benefit to the community aspect if every FC member could have, say, one favorite song that they own and save to the FC orchestration for use at any time by anyone.

Also, I'm in a small FC with three active subscribers, and I would be perfectly happy if each of us could only pick one song we own at a time to keep on our joint orchestration, before anyone chimes in about how it would favor big FCs.

I don't think this is a good idea. The point of the system is to have our collect songs as rewards, what you are asking for is similar to SE giving out rare glamour or Kiran mounts for free, because you like the way it looks. These songs are meant to be rare, and im surprised and privileged that they even allow you to listen to other people's rewards, however, in no way should you be allowed to control other people's rewards without obtaining it yourself. You are completely missing the point of the system.

Edit: I understand your perspective because you are in a small FC, and you maybe want it as a small group thing, but this is completely ruined for me as I'm in a big FC, and can guarantee that if it was the way that you said, we would have all the songs by next week, completely ruining any kind of reward that I get from collecting all the songs and filling my song book myself

If it was attached to the jukebox, a player would have to collect the rolls separately for their fc room, fc house, inn room and personal house with a chance of losing the music if they lose the house. I prefer having the music permanently and only having to collect them once. Some kind of a "last played" list would be nice though.

I was surprised it was done this way as well, but it seems to work.

This. I thought for sure that, as the FC housing person, I would have to farm up two copies of every Orchestrion roll. One for the FC, and one for myself. I'm very happy to find out that this is not the case. It is worth the minor annoyance of having track down an FC member with a certain song (or to get all the rolls myself), to avoid the extreme annoyance of having to farm everything twice.
