So with the new content, what would people think of our own version of a FFXI Maat being introduced, to really challenge everyone's Job/Class? It would maybe be available if you do well enough with stone sky sea.
For those who don't know, in FFXI Maat was an npc that would more or less, challenge you with your own class. The reason was raising the level cap in ffxi, but other rewards like glamor or something would be cool. Something small as the challenge would be fun enough.

If glamor includes maats cap or ffxi abyssea armor im in, i miss creed gear it was beyond godlike in appearance. -

And for those who are worried the game is becoming more FFXI or don't like the idea of Maat himself, that's fine. I only ment the idea of Maat and his function be similar to FFXI in regards to challenging you with your own job (which to me was challenging).

You're completely right. I'm just an extreme ffxi fan myself and know that's not for everyone... So I try to be careful with it. However with this, it gives nothing but advertise already made mechanics.
Plus the reward for beating Maat can be viewed as an accomplishment... Which sadly you don't feel a lot of in Ffxiv aside end game raid gear and insanely long achievement rewards. A difficult (but quick) single player earned reward is something this game could use I think -

I would not mind this implemented in say a "Solo Guildhest" system, like a spiritual successor to Maat.
IE: Guildhest that are dedicated to teaching players what each of their abilities do.
Such as Goad, Foe's Requiem, Smoke Screen, Cover, and etc.
(Since no one reads tool tips anymore...)
With the final hest being a "Comprehensive Review" of sorts. -
