Garland Data has the items but no use for them. Odds are they will become useful some time in the future ... maybe after Thursday? MIght be what you need to trade in for a Type-1 Crafting Receipt for example.
Aye, thought it might be a Thursday thing. Still don't see any scheduled maintenance for Thursday yet (unless I'm blind and/or looking in the wrong place). Hopefully something will happen.
Some of the other similar ones showed up in airship recipes.
Welp, we got our new red scrip items and I'm still not seeing a use for these things...
Yeah... I can only imagine it has something to do with airships or else they put them in too early for some new content that is up and coming. Really bizarre that we have no idea, especially when they are the only craftable items available for non-specialists (out of the new books).
This may be an indication that, as some people hope, all the specialist recipes will become non-specialist in a future patch. Otherwise, spending 720 blue scrip to learn one recipe would be nuts.
Yoshida-san also mentioned that there would be new things to craft based on "blueprints" you would have to acquire. It didn't sound like was talking about the usual get-the-recipe-book method of getting recipes. But he may have been talking about the faded music scrolls, I guess, which you copy to make usable music scrolls if I understand them correctly.
It does say crafting material in the description for them, so there must be some recipe that uses it somewhere.
Spiritbonding ^^
To give you a full list it's this:
CRP: Camphorwood Lumber, BSM/ARM: High Mythrite Nugget, GSM: Sewing Needle, LTW: Griffin Leather Strap, WVR: Sewing Thread, ALC: Powdered Horn, CUL: Gnome Sweetfish (Might just be standard food but since it only has ACC + VIT, I've included it). I bought all 8 MB IV's just because I wanted to be nosy... and with 3.25 coming out in about 3 weeks, anyone want to take bets that these are something to do with the next relic step?
I think your relic comment could be right or a prerequisite of a new crafting token similar to ARR silver brocade. We will see..
The best use/idea I've seen is that they are very easy to gather items that can be used to spiritbond high level gear.
Maybe upgrade for Lucis?
They're also a pretty good way for a new crafter to practice the 2star rotation instead of risking 4mil in mats.
Greetings,
In Patch 3.2, we introduced new recipes that all crafting classes can craft for the purpose of spirit bonding. For example, two star recipes from the fourth crafting master books (sweet gnome fish for culinarians, sewing thread for weavers, and griffin leather strap for leatherworkers) were added with this in mind. These items can be crafted with far fewer materials compared to other recipes.
Additionally, if your craftmanship is over 850, these recipes can be quick synthesized. These recipes were also included as recipes in which crafters can use to practice their crafting skill rotations. For this reason, the attributes or utility for these items may be lower when compared to other crafted items. With that said, there is a possibility that these items will be used as materials for future recipes.
Interesting!
So....what would we spiritbond while still meeting 2 star stats to craft these items?
So, I wanted to see what I would get and why no one was posting anything about what the i180s converted into. What I found was that it took 325 successful synths, I used bsm high mythrite nuggets, with spiritbond pot buff to spiritbond two of the i180 crafting rings. For all my trouble, I got 2 craftsmanship 4s, one from each ring, I did not try the others because rings are only 3 tokens vs. 6 for the other pieces of gear. So either my luck is horrible, the rings are rigged, or people should not bother with these recipes atm, the time it takes to gather the mats for them and the 2/3rds of your red scrips for a week is not worth it, using the tokens on favors is more productive. I would also like to add that I used hq shark fin soup to boost my craft stat up to 851 so that I could quick synth them, I failed around 5% of those synths, but it was way faster than manually crafting them.
On a side note: from what I can tell it would take about 2000 successful gather attempts of 1star gathers to get those to spiritbond. I used lumythrite sand and my rings are sitting at about 44% spiritbond, I bought 150 of the sand I crafted off the market board.
Unless I missed the memo, it is STILL the case that there is one, and only one way to get Tier V's for crafter/gatherer: Mutamix's materia roulette. No matter how high ilvl crafting gear you spiritbond, there is still a 0% chance of getting a Tier V.
Of course, I may have missed the memo. Can anyone confirm that there's any alternative way to get Tier V's now? If not, Spiritbonding favor gear is a ridiculous waste of time. Level 60 crafted gear has a high rate of dropping Tier IV's, is MUCH faster to spiritbond, and way cheaper to make.
On the other hand, SE adding these spiritbond-friendly recipes COULD mean that they're gearing up to (finally) allow obtaining Tier Vs from spiritbonding. If that's the case, spiritbonding your favor gear now may not be a bad plan - just don't convert it quite yet. Get it to 100%, and then store it until Tier V's are added to the possible convert results.
