I'm no technology guru; this was recorded on a phone, but I had a blast spending countless hours listening to and playing "Night in the Brume" by ear. I'm still a beginner at piano, be gentle =3. In the end, I made my own arrangement of Night in the Brume. I had lyrics written, but didn't end up singing because my voice is horrible. I felt I had to post this now, before I had the chance to lose heart and not participate at all.
My favorite songs from FFXIV are "Answers", "Dragonsong", and the one that goes "Pa paya pa payapayapaya pa" (I don't know the name of it).

"Night of Answers"
This piece is a hybrid of my two favorite pieces in the game. In order to make the Midi Engine not sound like death, I had to change the key on both pieces. Thank youf for listening!
My favorite pieces are, Night in the Blume, Answers, and of course, End of an Era.

I did most of my entry in the first couple sections of Night in the Brume also pulled a piece from the end of the 3rd/beginning of the 4th section, and I improvised things here and there.
As for favorite music from FFXIV, I've loved the music from the opening cinamatics of both 2.0 and 3.0 as well as the mount theme The Rider's Boon

"Out From the Blizzard, We Came"
This contest was right up my alley, so I wanted to represent and share my feelings of coming to Ishgard with my own rendition of "A Night in the Brume!" - complete with FFXI Bard cosplay for added appeal!
Things may seem dim for us bringers of light, but we will endure. We always have!
Lyrics are in the video description. Favorite songs? Imagination, Dreams of Ice, and Oblivion, hands down!

“A Night in the Brume Seeking Answers”
This song is actually one of my favorites from FFXIV, so I simply couldn’t resist a chance to compose an arrangement of it! I wanted to retain the original classy, soothing tones of the opening piano piece, but also wanted to add the depth and power I felt when I saw Ishgard for the first time. I decided I would achieve this by adding a motif of another one of my favorite songs, the powerfully symbolic “Answers”, with an organ/choir combo to drive that deep, commanding presence that Ishgardian architecture exudes. I wanted the choir to represent the people of Ishgard, both the oppressed in the Brume and the highborn safe in their halls, as a people united seeking answers amidst the tyranny and lies. A people united, hearkening unto the dawn of a new era, a prelude of peace and the end of the Dragonsong War.
Soken and his team have really brought this realm to life with the music and it’s one of the biggest reason I love this game so much. If I had to pick three songs, I would choose Answers, Contention (Zenith’s theme), and the normal boss theme of the Coil raids (sorry, I don’t know the name).
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to work with a song I love, and I hope that we may look forward to doing this again!

This was a lot of fun to do. I wrote an original arrangement for unaccompanied double bass. I decided to remain with the classical genre while adding slight ornamentation to the opening theme. I also chose to display the lowest and highest ranges that the double bass can play. I hope everybody enjoys it! My favorite songs in the game so far are Pharos Sirius (both Normal and HM), Unbending Steel (Ravana Theme, Final Phase), and A Tonberry's Tears (The Wanderer's Palace, Normal). Thanks for the opportunity to play, both this contest and Final Fantasy XIV!

Making this video has been a wild ride for sure. There's more I wish I could have done given the time limited I had when I heard about this contest, but I don't have any regrets. I had a blast learning this song and preparing ideas for the video so please look forward to it.
It's really hard to choose 3 favorites considering XIV easily became my favorite soundtrack for any video game. Though if I had to choose I'd say
1. Footsteps in the Snow
2. Nail of the Heavens
3. For the Sky
Thank you for this opportunity to test myself even further. I feel I learned some valuable lessons and I'm really surprised I managed to make it to the end.

Peace in the Brume
This contest was great. It really helped me grow my listening skills and I had a blast recording the different parts. I struggled at first and spent a lot of time figuring it all out by ear but it still came out great and hope you all enjoy it as much as I did playing it. Sorry for the close up video I have a really small room and had no where else to play. Thank you.
My Favorite songs are:
Agent of Inquiry
Starved
To The Sun

[FFXIV_HW_Music_NA] Airi Moon
- Night In The Brume < Flute Arrangement >
- ୧༼ ͡◉ل͜ ͡◉༽୨ Welp! Here's my entry for the contest! I was kind of surprised that a music contest came out for FFXIV, because it was just so sudden! But, I definitely wanted to join or just give it a try to see what I can do with it. I haven't played flute in a while, so my flute may sound a bit airy. Nonetheless, I had fun being part of this contest and I hope there are many more artistic contests in the future! c:
- I'd also say three of my favorite OSTs (because I like far too many) from FINAL FANTASY XIV composed by Masayoshi Soken are: The Scars of Battle, Heavensward, and Oblivion

"Rosewood's Brume"
I really enjoyed working with the original song as a solo arrangement. My goal was to capture the feeling of walking through Ishgard and being completely absorbed by the endless struggle that exists both within and outside of the walls. I love the main theme of the song and wanted to present it in two different keys to darken it up.
My favorite song ironically is "Night in the Brume" since it captures the feeling of despair yet brings an uplifting sense of hope.

"Brume Meets Baroque!"
I absolutely adore this album and ever since I've heard this song, I've been attempting to try and put pieces and pieces together in order to transcribe the song for the piano. However, I just couldn't quite obtain in potent results, of course, not until I received the right incentive. My entry is that of a nice classical arrangement of the song, "Night of the Brume" more reminiscent of the Baroque era. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Here is my entry for the competition. It is played entirely on one guitar and is an original rendition that includes the bridge as well. I really like the "Night at the Brume" and I tried to capture the beautifully introspective main melody in it. Hope you guys can enjoy it. I am really sorry about the hiss that comes out of the audio, I wish I have the software to suppress it.
My favorite song from Final Fantasy XIV would be On Westerly Winds (Eastern La Noscea theme), Zenith Theme from Heavensward, and of course Answers from ARR.

I play an oboe so I will enter the contest. I used to play FF14 all day.
As soon as I graduate I will play more. This music makes me feel calm and sleepy.

Fragments of Nostalgia
For my wife and I, the music of Final Fantasy has been the soundtrack to our lives. It played during our academic study sessions. It played during our runs in the park. It even played during our wedding ceremony. For our arrangement, we wanted to incorporate Night in the Brume with some of our favorite classic themes and our own original melody. In some small way, this song is our way of thanking the talented musicians and composers that have enriched our lives.
Garthas' favorite FFXIV song: Heroes (Heavensward)
Ana's favorite FFXIV song: Black and White (Heavensward)

I forgot to mentioned that my favorite music piece is opening theme of heavensward.

Hello! I'm so excited to present to you my arrangement of the beautiful theme, "Night in the Brume". I'm a classically trained pianist, so much of my inspiration comes from my favorite composers- Schubert, Chopin, Beethoven. This theme is very unique, and really sets a mood for nighttime in Foundation. I love how traditional the music is in this game. It gave me a lot to work with! I hope you enjoy watching.
My favorite piece from Heavenward is definitely Midgardsormr's theme, Primogenitor. It's so unexpected, but eerily powerful and impacting.
Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!
Sincerely,
Jael

It's really awesome how Masayoshi Soken is gonna be looking over our arrangements. This is probably the only time he'll even look at this so I'm really glad! Hopefully he and everyone else who listen will enjoy this arrangement and good luck to everyone (◠‿◠).
My favorite songs are:
1. The Lost City of Ampdapor (Normal & Hard)
2. Titan's theme (all phases)
3. The Great Gubal Library

Sunset on Ishgard
Brief comment for your entry (500 chars):
A big thank you to the FFXIV Team, this was a fun challenge! The hardest part of this was probably staying under the 2 minute, 30 second length restriction. It's such a pretty song. The warm tones of this arrangement reminded me of a sunset on Ishgard.
Your favorite song from Final Fantasy XIV (up to three):- Navigator's Glory

Night at the Brume Intermezzo
When they announced the Heavensward music contest, I thought this would be a fun opportunity. I tried to keep it fairly simple, but still emphasize some of the contrast between the themes. Thanks for listening!
Favorite songs from FFXIV
- Scars of Battle (Lost City of Amdapor)
- Footsteps in the Snow (Shiva Phase 1 Theme)
- Answers (Especially like how it is incorporated into Final Coil of Bahamut Turn 4)

Submission title: Steppers in the Brume
Brief comment for your entry: This is a printrbot simple metal playing two variations of Night in the Brume from midi files. The midi files were converted into gcode and loaded onto the 3D printer. This causes the stepper motors to generate tones that sound very close to some retro gaming music!
Your favorite song from FINAL FANTASY XIV: Imperial Will, Steel Reason

Submission Title: Colour in the Brume
Comments: When attempting to discern how I was going to write an arrangement of this, I decided to place chords around the melody that both make the progression coherent and treat the melody as extensions of those chords in order to give the piece more color.
Your favorite songs from FINAL FANTASY XIV: Ink Long Dry, The Scars of Battle, Up the Down Staircase

Favorite Final Fantasy Songs:
1. Charibert Theme from The Vault
2. King Thordan's Theme (Heroes)

Title: The Last Stand
Comments:
I'm a classical musician to the bone and wanted to do a classical take on this piece. I call it last stand, because I imagine a wintry night (so added depth to the harmony to reflect a more wintry feeling), where the collar breaks and dragons bring Ishgard to its knees. Unfortunately most of the battle elements (and the most variation) don't take place until after the 2:30 mark. Either way please enjoy both this submission and the full version (link in video). Thank you! GO THIJI!!

Submission title: "Friends in the Brume"
Comments: I love the medieval/Renaissance vibe of Ishgard; whenever I arrange, I tend to go more traditional. I am a part of several collab groups, so I posted a call for performers when this contest was announced, and began arranging for anybody who signed up. I called my submission "Friends in the Brume" because it was a large collab in a short span of time, and I could not have done this without the help of the wonderful community of cover musicians.
Favorite track from Final Fantasy XIV: "Sultana Dreaming," "Ink Long Dry," "Solid"
Hope you enjoy!! Now time to check out some of these other amazing videos...(what an absolutely beautiful song to choose for a cover contest!!)

Submission title: "Rhapsody in Brume"
Comments: This is an orchestral fantasy based on thematic elements from "Night in the Brume". I composed the piece as a musical journey into the mind of the hero, and strived to evoke feelings such as sadness, tension, love and happiness. The title of the work refers to the emotions that arise upon reaching the journey's end.
Favorite music from Final Fantasy XIV: Keeper of the Lake theme, The Wanderer's Palace Hard theme, all the Crystal Tower music

Submission Title: "Battle in the Brume"
Comments: I had a lot of fun coming up with this arrangement, I hope you have fun listening to it! I went for something moody and melodic, but a bit lighter and crisper in tone; somewhere between metal and punk rock.
Favorite Songs: I love "Ifrit's Theme", "The Dragon's Dirge", and "Machinations" the most. To me those songs capture the feel of the game perfectly.

"Ishgard by the Campfire"
The theme behind my arrangement was adventurers sharing stories about their travels through Ishgard around the campfire after a long day. As such I wanted to use instruments you might be likely to find on a traveler such as a harmonica or guitar.
I hope you enjoy it!
My favorite tunes from FFXIV are Answers, Sultana Dreaming, and Freedom.

Title: Night in the Brume - Simple Piano Arrangement
Comments: I wasn't so interested in competing as I was finally being given an opportunity to arrange and play such a pretty piece. I'm not classically trained, my piano experience is rather limited, and I'm not particularly good at adding my own flair to songs. So instead, I tried to create an arrangement that was as accurate as I could make it. It was a lot of fun!

Submission Title: Night in the Brume: Reorchestrated for Percussion Ensemble
Comments: I've stayed pretty true to the original and experimented more with various tone colors. I transcribed and arranged the music for all percussion instruments. In the video, I am performing all of the parts, and playing with a click track. I also have a good friend who was willing to record, edit, and mix for me. We recorded in the band room at the high school where I teach.

My Favorite song in FFXIV is Tricksome from Wanderer's Palace Hard Mode.

I think it's worth mentioning the explanation of the name Lyini rather than mine for the post. Lyini is the name of my wife's player, and she is the primary account holder. We play a lot together, and her DPS is way better than mine.

Night in the Brume
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAUo...ature=youtu.be
This is my arrangement for Night in the Brume for solo voice, strings, and percussion. Lyrics written and sung by my friend, Juna. I took this competition as an excuse to practice arranging, producing, mixing, and mastering with a vocalist since I'd never done it before. I kept the tonality of the piece the same and the singer takes the POV of someone living in the Brume.
Favorite Pieces

"Twilight in the Brume"
"This entry is extremely similar to the original, using violin, piano, and organ. This is a rough edition of it as I hadn't had the time I wished to work on it with things currently going on in life. I was only able to start working on it a day ago. Even so, with the timeframe I had I think it's okay. Perhaps we may have another competition with mp3/aiff files as entries for full blown compositions for those of us that compose using DAWs and don't perform. Then I could show my true colors as a beginning video game composer by using a whole orchestra and more! For now though, this'll suffice."
My favorite songs would be Footsteps in the Snow, Metal, and Heroes
