Novice Network is full...

"Unable to join Novice Network. The channel has reached the maximum number of users."
As many of you might have realize you are mentor but you can't enter the Novice Network...
Yoshida should think about making more channel for it. It seems like it only limit 100 mentor.
My friends saw some trollers and rude mentor in the novice network LOL. Well there's no way Yoshida can fix those people :P

There should be an option to kick trolls and give them few hours of penalty. For the green leaves the penalty is shorter.

I do agree that one chat channel per a server is not good enough... also there are probably more mentors than newbies now because players want the crown :3

it will fix itself as people get bored of helping. Just give it a day or two.

Watch out though they investigate all kicks from the channel... if they think you're abusing it you'll get in trouble.

Of course if there are that many trolls then kick em out.

Poor GMs aren't going to have time to deal with anything else other than Novice Network kick reports by the sounds of it. People are kicking anyone they don't like, regardless of the fear of GMs reading the report.

The Novice network automatically fills mentor spaces up to a 100. Every time a space opens up it adds a new mentor.

I think it is perfectly fine this way. We don't need an excessive amount of mentors teaching a small amount of sprouts. We need mentors to be there when sprouts ask their questions. That might mean it can take a while before you get your chance at actively teaching, and that is fine.

I can understand the excitement of becoming a mentor and wanting to teach, but being a mentor is not about teaching no matter what. It is about teaching someone that needs help, when they need help.

If you are kicked from the channel enough your character should be penalized from getting the crown.

So this new system sort of has a "queue" as well?

You're auto removed when you log off.

You say sprouts, but isn't the mentor roulette including trials like Thordan EX? I thought it isn't limited to new players, but open to all people willing to learn something.

The roulette is entirely separate from the Novice network. The roulette puts you into content with players needing help, the Novice network is a chat channel for Mentors and Sprouts to talk to each other in.

So there is no chat for people who want to be mentored but already have 40 or more hours of game time? I was hoping there would be some way to interact with the mentors but if that's the only way that is kinda sad. I just hope that mentors who get randomly put in the harder content will give advice on mechanics, shortfallings and what not and not treat it as bonus rewards and leave after a single wipe.

The mentors still get the crown above their head so the "no-longer-sprouts" can look for these in the open-world and probably even in the search window - not sure about this as I am still stuck at work for the next 30 minutes >_>

Mentors have a symbol they can add to their name like the "Online" or "Busy" symbol. I can't log in yet but I'm pretty sure you could use Player Search to search for Mentors and ask them a question or post the question into mentor chat. Also no matter how many hours you put into the game, if it's the first time clearing a type of content I'm pretty sure the Mentor Roulette will prioritize you so you might end up being matched with one.

They said that the Network IS monitored. Those players can be reported, which will prompt the team to investigate and give a warning. Multiple complaints on them that are legit will cause them to be permanently banned from the Network.

I didn't get on the channel for the couple hours i was on before work. I'm curious to hear what's the mentor/sprout ratio at the moment (server dependant i know) 5 mentors to 1 sprout? That wouldn't surprise me at all.

LoL. I'm a teacher... I already deal with this and am quite mad as it is, so I suppose I'll do just fine. -=^.^=-

This needs some serious work. On Brynhildr, people are basically just using it as a server wide chat channel. I had to move it to another chat tab because the chat spam was ridiculous. Not even about mentoring newbies, basically using it as a Linkshell. They need to add chat restrictions to it or something, like you can only say so many things before you hit a cooldown before you can talk on it again. Otherwise, I don't see it being used much for its intended purpose.
