Not so Specialization?

Uhhh so.... why don't they just get rid of specialization altogether now that they're just going to pull this out of their ass?

[3.0] The following items can now be crafted without a specialization:

Sky Pirate's Helm of Fending / Sky Pirate's Coat of Fending... (lots of stuff...) Titanium Alloy Square / Dispelling Arrow / Blessed Fletchings / Kingcake / Moogle Miniature

At this point dont see a reason for specialization to be anything if those crafts end up being non specialization at some point anyway... >.<

I bet some of the new craft is an exchange like orchestrion sheet and new furniture.

But I really glad those past specialist craft not specialist anymore.

Up until this point, only battle content rewards were gated. As we know this was done to slow the progress in obtaining of certain items. This change is no different.

You can bet your ash that the Orchestrion and the Crystal bell will be Specialist only... it's the Unending Journey all over again.
They probably ease up the specialist requirement once content is "old"

By that logic why should we have a weekly tome system if those items are just going to be part of "unlimited" tomes after two version updates.

Think of it like this. Specialization recipes are just like weekly tomes, you can't gear everything with weekly tomes in the same way you can't craft everything because of specialization. But after two patches go by the "special" recipes get downgraded for new recipes to replace those in the same way the weekly tomes become the new unlimited being replaced by a new weekly tome.

so specialization was just another lockout ugh sick of those the weekly ones suck to everything should be monthly like our sub

They make no mention of new recipes being Specialist ones, do they?

I hope they've done what I've been saying all along, considering they have given Specialists a bonus to Craftsmanship and Control. Rather than Specialist recipes, we have the same Craftsmanship/Control requirements lockout out people from making stuff, with Specialists obviously getting an advantage to make that stuff right away.

I'd find that much more organic that a straight up lockout... Omnicrafting would still be a thing, but it would technically be harder? Lets say you'd need a fully melded set of the AF2 in order to reach the new requirements without the Specialist bonus, that's a fairly big pain, not to mention Gil sink. Specialists get an obvious advantage, while Omnicrafting isn't removed from the game, it just takes more effort to achieve, and at the end of the day Specialists are still at an advantage.

There are new books. Bets on them costing Red scrip?

Now because of complainers I'm willing to bet the new books will be the "Specialist" recipes using timed tokens to obtain.

specialists now will get a stat boost with 3.2

as there is a new master book 4, I am assuming the specialist recipes will be in there, and the masterbook 3 ones have been opened to all. I'd also expect that to be a pattern going forward.

you do realize that even with the specialization omnicrafting is still mandatory, right? the idea behind specialization was to force people to choose, the trouble is.... it was too late since it was mandatory 50 crafting for do anything worth it.

worst the whole idea of specialize people in a game boosting about allowing to do every jobs/class with one character was idiot from the start. i do hope that they will drop it on the long run since it don't bring anything to the game.

It makes crafting more of side job and thus less used!

I think they may be moving to have specialization not being a limiter, but a bonus. Basically Specialization should be "Choose 3 crafting classes. You have an easier time crafting items using these classes."

The 3.15 Relic crafts showcased the problems with limiting recipes to Specializations. "Easy" but necessary crafts ended up with stupidly inflated prices. If Specialist recipes return hopefully they will be variant recipes (i.e. require fewer mats, need less quality to HQ, etc.) rather than than exclusive recipes.

Do note that crafting and control bonuses are being added to the Souls of the Crafter.

Rather they improve or make the whistle system a bit friendlier, only use about 2 or so actual specialist skills, thought they were suppose to help with the ease of needing a lot of cross-classes, but its just so much easier to actually use the regular skills with cross-class. >.<

I hope the new recipes don't need 850 craftmanship/800 control ...
