Tank damage bonus reduced in pvp

See the title. This was in the 3.2 patch notes. What does this mean? What confuses me is "bonus." Is it just a straight nerf to tank damage?

During 2.4, all classes and jobs received modifiers to damage dealt, physical vulnerability and magical vulnerability in order to prevent classes (with various cross-class skills) from being more optimum than the jobs.

It seems that the Gladiator, Maurader, Paladin Warrior and Dark Knight will have their Damage Dealt bonus reduced from 0%/+10% (class/job) to possibly -10%/0%.

I feel like it'll just mean less damage, but I admit the "bonus" part does have me a bit confused too.

Oh right, I forgot there was a damage dealt part to that wasn't there. I only remembered the changes to damage received from the different roles.

It seems REALLY unnecessary now that they already nerfed our damage in the first place.

What do you mean? there was another nerf beyond the change to tank bonus damage? I do feel my fell cleave is slightly weaker... even with better gear...

3.2's huge reduction to attack power plus the bonus damage cut is a huge slap in the face for pvp tanks, XD

I also feel that they improved/added additional graphics to some of our attacks. For example, storms path has this cool looking impact effect on both yourself and your target now. And the wind up animation for decimate now has these white, wind-like motion trails on the axe.

Mmm someone was able to say how much damage tanks lost? (a raw percentage)
Before I saw (on my dead body) Fell cleve of about 4500Hp from non-high/fevered WARs.

I wish I could tell you. And what's this reduction to attack power I'm hearing about? I didn't see anything about that in the notes.

Ah Reddit says it's about a 20 percent ap drop. I'm guessing that translates to roughly a 20 percent dps drop?

God that sounds terrible. Especially for pvp.

Gotta try out a few frontlines to get a proper feel for the nerf. But yeah... The vit/ap change/nerf went a little too far I think. Hopefully they adjust potency for tank Attacks next patch... And war heals...
