Fabulous Fauna, what beasties do you like?

Any beasties that you find hard to kill? ones you find cute or so ugly they are still cute anyway?

I like the giant crabs and hope they come out as a mount some time.

Others I like are: Cactuar/Sabotender, Cockatrice (I like how intimidating they look over the cute/derpy look the 11 ones have...wish 11 did give us them as jugpets but the dick jokes would never end), Coblyn ( I don't know why but I find them oddly cute), Gigantoad, (if it was not for the spikes they could be another mount), Behemoth (how can you not like these beastly beasts? plus we get one as a mount!), Moles (cute & derpy...well before the spikes ones toss spikes at you), and bears.

As for beastmen: Goblins aka Gobbies, Amalj'aa, Moogles, Kobold, Sylph, Ixal, Tonberry, Qiqirn & Vanu Vanu.


And lastly please SE add Incubi! we have Succubi...I want an Incubus minion

The lack of agency I feel around monsters in the open world also relates to my lack of care for them as "Beasts"

Marlboros and Tonberries good but only due to their previous incarnations. As they stand all the monsters are muted punching bags with different sizes.

I always liked the megalocrabs because they look like they're grazing, and I have a soft spot for hermit crabs. I told my friend this once. He went "CRAB BATTLE" and started killing them. :c

I hate gigantoads with a passion. Just running around on my chocobo in Mor Dhona while leveling my elezen, minding my own business and "SLURP" and I'm pulled into its slimy face and about to get flattened under its big fat slimy belly. Dx Also any of the beastribes that dare put heavy on me while on chocoback. Whenever that happens; elusive jump+murder on sight.

I've always had a soft spot to kobolds, mostly because their death cry is such a cute little whistle. ;~;

tonberry o_________o! I also love sabotenders because of the way they walk. I like chinchillas b/c they attack like carbuncles. Leech King is one of my favorites, but my friends find it for me then kill it in front of me p__p.

We NEED a dark helmet minion! Just putting it out there.

EDIT: we need a dark helmet mount!!!!

ALDGOATS! I've been crazy for Aldgoats since the first time I laid eyes on the majestic beasts. Back in 1.0 they used to curiously follow you around a bit.. So adorable. <3

I have the hardest time killing them.. Their dying moo is just so heartbreaking..

Ugly but still cool looking: Mylodons.

I totally want one as a mount. :D

Dragonets. I used to play a Dragoon in XI, and those little guys look just like Dragoons' pet wyverns. I dislike having to kill something so adorable!

Granted, they're red instead of blue; thankfully you don't kill the blue ones. You play hide and seek with them. <3

I absolutely detest any kind of toad in this game, the way they look (ew), the way they move and twitch (shudder), and the way they suck me in while im minding my own business (table flip).

There are quite a few mobs that I like aesthetically though (especially HW mobs), paissas, poroggos, and deepeyes are sooo adorably cute.

Gorillas, or at least, all the things that look like gorillas but aren't actually called such.

I love them so much (in RL too) that I refuse to attack any of them, including the boss in Hullbreaker.

Hah! I kill anything to puts heavy on me, too! I'm already not getting far. Might as well slaughter the bastard!

My favorite monsters would be the Tonberries. I always buy my wife the plushies that come out, but I bought the Tonberry just for me!

Other monsters I like are the Yeti, the Vindthur or Bergthur (I love the blue glow), the Revenants, the Ahrimans, the horned birds in the Sea of Clouds (can't remember their name), the Mirrorknights, the Iron Giants (just bad ass), the blue Gigas Giants in CCH & the Skeletons! I wish the Skeletons had a Boss version of them either as a Fate boss or even a Hunt. Maybe use the one with the Crown.

Wild chocobos... it saddens me every time I'm required to kill one during a Hunt bill. ; ;

Dragonets too, seeing as they are dragon children and closely resemble the DRG's pet wyvern from FFXI... and it just seems wrong to fight them (their fire-breath attack is even cute, called literally 'Puff').

I hate having to kill Karakul for fleece, they're so cute. ;-;

Every time I go to farm them it makes me wish we could keep them in a stable/ pen like Chocobos and have them as pets - we could maybe shear them weekly for a few baskets of fleece or something like that.

I absolutely LOVE tonberries! Especially after completing the scholar story I ADORE them with all my heart.
I also like phurbles... Cause phurble.

Hate to kill: Chocobos, Adamantoises
Love to kill: Moogles
Want a mount of:Trex, Succubus :p
Hate in general: Toads and everything that fetch you or slow you down while passing by

I love the toads and gobbues xD. The tongue attack toads do to pull you in is so hilarious to me. The low level FATE in lower la noscea with the small toads is my favorite... it feels like my character is a giant ping pong ball :D.

Edit: oh and Adamantoise! I always feel I'm slowly killing my server with every turtle death :(

I hate to kill: Tigers from chest map... they are so wonderfull, i lack all fighting spirit when they pop.

I hate to kill: bombo in most dungeon, cause.... well you know what happen sometimes. bad bombos!

The first time I saw a Heliostoper in Central Shroud, while getting to Haukke Manor, my mouth dropped. They are so HUGE and just look so cool. Also the first time I saw the Behemoth FATE I was in awe. As for cute, would have to be the cactuars. I tried to hug one and the exact moment my girl started the animation....it MOVED AWAY! No hug for me! ;_;

Cactaurs, the black and white couerls, tigers, slimes

I want an Endymion(Einhander) mount... I don't know why exacty that one but I know I want it.

Spriggans. I like the way they move, I like the way they run, they're so fuzzy and cute, and last last Easter really made me love them.

Now when I see Spriggans, I think of the "Pa Paya Pa Payapayapa" song, because for some reason it fits them.

Nope. Even when leveling there's none, only some that I wouldn't consider hard but instead just an inconvenience to be pulled.

The tiger that appears in treasure maps, I absolutely don't want to kill it when it appears, I want to tame it or have it as a mount instead!

I think there's something cute about Apkallu, too, watching them waddle about and then if you fight one it slaps you with a fish.

As for fauna I just like... hmm, I like most things at Azys Lla, the Droid mob and Sphinx are pretty cool especially.

My favorite are the Gaelicats. I hate having to kill them, they're so adorable.

I miss Beastmaster...11 killed it in recent updates (and smn too...which still gets ignored afaik) I would play bst here if SE ever adds it...but how would it work here? ah wild chocobos...I could never kill one ;~; and though they can get really annoying ghosts/bogy (the squeaks STAPH IT) and Sparrigans aka soot bunnies, first seeing them reminded me of the Miyzaki soot sprites

I have a fascination with Deepeyes, which is why I was so disappointed that they added the Shalloweye minion to the game in such an obnoxious way, I suck at RTS. Makes me wish I could just find someone to win trade with.

Behemoths, Dragonets, Dragons (they are really well done I this game), Flans (they have so much animation it's amazing), Tonberry, Elbst (they facinate me for some reason), Miacid (they terrify me).

I always feel bad about killing Dragonflys. O-o They are so cute, but when you look up close, they are ugly but still cute!
