Red lipstick for Au ra's

PLEASE, lol I want like bright red but no shade even comes close to red. Bring on some red :cool:

This game is getting more about glamour and looks than it is about battle and skills. No wonder why most of the game's population are female characters played by boys.

Uh, what does the last part of that remark even have to do with the first part? Glamour and looks are important to people and don't have any connection to fighting skill.

If the girl wants red lips, then let her ask for red lips. It literally hurts nobody.

My Femroe has this problem too. Pink or salmon is the best I can get. Also, asking for fluff and aesthetics is as important to some people as battle content is to others. Personally, I don't see why we can't have both. :D

I would really love to have some proper red lipstick, I've tried various shades but either they end up being more pink or being too dark than what I'm aiming for.

Most of the options available are either ugly or they look bad in gear. And since I'm a caster most of the time....yeah.

I was excited for Male Au Ra but the swish swash of the tail and the I'm skipping in place run animation was just too much.

I don't think it's necessary for guys playing as girls to have to justify themselves, though. Even setting the odd gender fixation aside it was a weird response; someone who creates great-looking glamour sets and uses a cool signature image criticising glamour doesn't come across as being terrifically credible. Looks are important and part of the fun.

While I'm not a red lipstick kind of guy myself, the original post seems like a very reasonable request so I support it.

I've never seen red lips on any character/race in this game. It is always dulled down and faded.

That being said, I support OP! Red lips please :D How can we be a succubus like race without red lips? Lol...

I agree. Most of the reds available on my character are way too dark. I end up just using lighter colors instead. Would be nice to have something bright and lively.

I mainly just want my lips to not be shiny all the time >_>

I'm not 15 anymore SE, I don't wear pounds of lip gloss give me some matte colors please! :(

Miqo'te share your pain. It's incredibly hard to get red lipstick to work, and if you choose the dark setting, it looks like your lips have been laser printed with the specified color, with a gloss finish. Alternately the 'light' setting allows a bit more natural variation, but it's still difficult to judge the color right. It's be really good if one of the environments we could examine our appearance in was a lightly overcast day with bright, indirect day light. The direct light from the sun or internal lighting in the current options makes color selection really hard.

Eh for me Femroe are towering, imposing, and just badass. And I can pretend to stomp all over Lalafell. I tried a male Roe in full BLM Eso gear. Almost died from laughter. Caster gear is just universally bad for some reason. Makes me sad. Once I get a full Scylla set though I'll be set for life.

I hear you, though. Nothing could tempt me away from the Elezen side, but female Roegadyn are magnificent.

Goetia Hat + Wizard's Coat is great for obscured face except for the eye alone. Just find the appropriate long gloves and decent boot glamour and you are all set. Too bad full Eso makes you look like a merchant with all the damn pouches...on the shoulders.

If there was a punt emote where you could send Lalafell and even Female Miqote/Au Ra flying I'd be all for it. They are all so tiny and puny.

Hmm, yeah, that's quite a cute look on you. The body will probably disrupt the effect. I guess the WHM esoteric set is similar in that I glamoured over the hat and boots within seconds but liked the look of the rest.

(I apologise for taking over the lipstick discussion with fashion advice.)

When I was making my Auri female character, I wanted to give her that tribal facepaint band across her eyes. Before settling with black, I had a look at the red hues and I recall them looking very bad, I am guessing for the same reasons that lipstick does.

Indeed! I've tried out other races, but I wasn't able to get a decent red on any of them.

At first, I thought it was just skin tone and how the lipstick colours interact with it, but I'm not 100% sure anymore.

Might be able to get a brighter red, will experiment later. But when I was an au ra, this was the best I could do!! Any darker and it went grey!

Definitely different between the races, but I'm not sure why.
